How about some commentary about the dollar and the Fed?
If we attack Iran, all hell is going to break loose in the middle east. What happens if nations demand we repay our debts? Financial collapse overnight.
Brilliant as always. As a recovering (pseudo) war supporter I can say that this should open some eyes and will cost continuing the Iraq war serious support.
The real problem is how many countries has Bush Jr. occupied in his term? How many before had we occupied? How many countries did Clinton have interventions in with connections to militant Islam? (Sudan, Bosnia, Iraq, just off the top of my head) What with Obama's (expected) about face, McCain losing to him won't make much difference.
At least Obama's not talking about 100 years, but I think he could bankrupt the country with socialism while McCain could do that with overseas intervention. I don't think either should get a vote.
Obama: even if he is truly against intervention in Iraq, which I am by no means convinced of, he is definitely supporting intervention in Afghanistan and possibly Pakistan. Being that his advisers are mostly Clinton Administration people, I would expect to see intervention in the Congo, Colombia, Sudan and elsewhere. You know what that means: more blowback, more lives lost, more American prosperity being destroyed, and thus more economic crisis.
Obama may not say it, but he would. We've been in Japan and Germany since the end of WWII and South Korea almost as long.
Obama may not be the warmonger and civil liberty basher McCain is, but still leaves a lot to be desired. McCain may not be the socialist Obama is, but still leaves a lot to be desired. They may as well be the same candidate at this point.
A majority of Islam would be appeased if Palestinians could have their half of Jerusalem back and if Israel would stop building settlements on their lands and walls/checkpoints to herd them like cattle.
If you think Iran wants Israel "wiped off the map," then I suggest you do some minor research into what Ahmadinejad actually said and what the position of the Ayatollah really is.
Never mind the fact Palestinians were already offered half of Jerusalem during peace talks when Arafat was alive. Never mind that the Israelites kicked all the settlers out of Gaza and gave up the land which is being used to launch rockets at Israel. Never mind that they traded a child killer for 2 corpses today. Never mind year after year of Muslim hatred and terrorist attacks. Ridiculous.
The complete obliteration of Israel is both on the agenda of Hamaz and Hazbulah which is controlled by Iran. AhmadJihaddan has called for the destruction of Israel time and time again while denying the Holocaust. The whole of Israel is about 1% of the land that Arabic countries control. Never mind the history of Islam conquest stopped at the gates of Vienna. You clearly haven't a clue of what you're talking about.
1. Israel always demands recognition of their legitimacy, with no historical precedence, different from recognition, which the Palestinians are happy to do.
2. Gaza: Israel retains control of air space, territorial waters, offshore maritime access, the population registry, entry of foreigners, imports and exports as well as the tax system.
3. Casualties in the 2006 war were grossly disproportionate on the Lebanese civilian side.
4. Complete obliteration of Israel is not the goal of any of those groups. If you actually research the goals of these organizations, you would know they are pretty legitimate, and you would feel the same way if you were in their position. They have repeatedly endorsed a two-state solution that is blocked by Israel and the U.S. Read more Chomsky.
Also, please source your claim where Iranian leadership has called for the destruction of Israel or denied the Holocaust.
So you like the US empire??? You want the US to rule the world????
Did you know that our US Constitution does not even give the Federal government control over States?? In fact it protects States rights by laying out what the Federal Government can and can not do.
Congress did not declare war. They voted to allow the President to declare war. This is a clear violation of the constitution and the inherent seperation of powers. There is nothing legal about any of it. The congress does not decide what powers are to be delegated. The constitution does.
Dr. Paul called for the vote knowing that he would vote down on it anyway. The point was to follow the Constitution and have Congress declare war and deliberate it, rather than delegate the authority to the executive.
Good video, as always. More people out there need to be listening to voices like yours. I'm doing my best to help spread your messages, and others like yours!
exactly. not even the promise of staying in there for 100 years did though either. america is going to get f***ed over again, and i think it's fair to say that a good deal of the blame falls on their own shoulders.
Guys like Southern Avenger are a real breath of fresh air in a post-9/11 America that's lost its mind and a Republican Party filled to the brim with neocons and interventionists.
I think you might like the book "Ain't My America: The Long, Noble History of Antiwar Conservatism and Middle-American Anti-Imperialism." It's written by Bill Kauffman, a columnist from The American Conservative. It clearly shows the conservative tradition is NOT empire or total war.
I haven't checked out any of McGovern's stuff, but maybe I will. So who's labeled a total liberal or hippie - Kaufman (which I think is what you're saying) or McGovern?
McGovern. Duh. No offense, but are you new to political history or something? You should really research the rise of the New Right and past political conventions and elections. McGovern was pretty strongly attacked by the Right as being something of an isolationist or sort of a "cut and runner", much like the Republicans do today to anyone who says we should get out of Iraq. McGovern, as you know, gave the famous "come home, america" speech.
Actually, yes. :) I wasn't really interested in politics up until a couple years ago. Within the last few months or so, I started watching SA's videos as well as checking out who Ron Paul is (probably thanks to SA).
On tonight's "Hannity and Colmes", Colmes presented John Bolton (the jackass that he is who really needs to shave) with one of the quotes showing that Iraqis want us out, and he just said "Oh, no, that's not the whole context of the quote. They actually want us there with permanent bases and shit."
I'd love to see smart men like ron paul and/or barr in office, but the majority of americans for the most part are politically challenged and don't like to really investigate the real issues at hand in elections. until america decides to wise up and elect a candidate who knows what he's talking about, i think you can also say that there's a timetable for america. america is already in a recession; only a matter of time until a depression hits in my opinion.
I think friday may have marked the start of the depression. The question is, will our government drive us deeper or let the free market bring us out of it.
Politically challenged would be an understatement. :) Maybe if people don't get around to getting a new tv to keep up with the digital connection, they'll find something to do such as checking out the real issues. :)
The problem is that most people probably would agree that voting for anyone other than a Rep. or Dem. is a wasted vote. If there was somehow a way for everyone to get together and vote for a Libertarian, I think that would make all the difference.

Neocons are playing Risk with the world in real life. They believe they have to get the most before Russia or China, or whoever else does first.
The problem of trying to rid the world of terrorism is that is not a war one can win.
Stopping Communism on an economic level, ala Russia, is more advantageous than fighting little conquest wars.

No, Congress did not vote for the war.
Ron Paul submitted a bill to declare war on Iraq and it was voted down in committee.
