It's not the gold version, one main diffrnce is that they haven't finished the curosr, reason why it has a black background. I don't know other diffrences but that is the most visible one.

Also, this is the only version that was leaked before geting fully released.

yeah it was. graphics weren't good on my laptop cause they were at low setting by default cause of it. but also what annoyed me was the conrtols. i didnt know how to move the sims like the sims2.

and nope. you can get a few other sim games like sims castaway and sims pets but the sims3 is for PC

well, it depends on what processor and graphics card you have. If you have an AMD or Intel Duo processor (not mobile) and at least a Nvidia GeForce card then you're fine.
