I agree with people who say that the Silent Hill games really changed when they switched makers. Double Helix, located in California, has a very different idea of survival horror than Team Silent did. More gore, less psychological horror. Both ideas of a "horror game" are completely valid, I just wish people didn't feel the need to replace one with the other. Why can't there be American survival horror games and Japaneses ones? Why do they have to mesh together into the same thing?

@WmnRights What are you talking about?! Don't say bs about the yankees man. I'll admit gameplay of SH5 was kinda of stupid but as all SH games, it has a great story. SHSM was one of the best in my opinion I don't find anything wrong with the "yankees" being part of SH.
Shattered Memories wasn't a bad game at all. The story was infact better than most Silent Hill games had. Well ofcourse except the 2nd Silent Hill, that game's story was really good. But I guess I am a sucker for plots that have a nice twist and feel more personal.
@WmnRights Homecoming and the room were weaker titles but they were decent games and i wouldnt say they were degraded. I liked the Room and Homecoming was only average because of the shortness and the fact that it was so linear.
@ManowarHeigou I agree, topically 4 is one of my favourite games, it's just really frustrating to actually sit down and play do to some poor design choices. I wouldn't say home coming was any more linear then any of the other silent hill games. I fealt homecoming failed with it's focus on arcade style fighting and continual loss of atmosphere. Think loading screens 1-4 all have incredibly good loading screens as to not ruin atmosphere where as homecoming had dodging/combat tips with screenshots
There's another song with a mix it too. I forget, but, it's featured in one of the last episodes of Noisy Hill 4. But I digress. The song has a definitive guitar riff from the opening theme of Silent Hill 2.

Silent hill 4 is a good game but theres one thing that your gonna hate about it if you havent played it yet. The amount of items you carry is limited, and at one point your health starts to go down in your safe room -__-
and Homecoming is a bitch to play..but its soooo good ^///^

I think I'm the only one on this earth that really really likes SH4. It was unique and had such a sense of loneliness to it. Best soundtrack by far, aswell.

I love the SH series, I'm replaying SH2 at the moment.
downpour comes out in my region next month, lets cross fingers and hope it doesn't leave out psychology in favor for extra gore.
