Crazy Vaughan Weather by Canada's Wonderland Tornado Warning August 20 2009

I just realized that this was the storm my boyfriend drove through on the 427 on his way home from the wood bridge area! He called me freaking out saying he had just driven through a hurricain lol!

I remember that and I was looking to my right after that and in this scary storm I see a car filled with wacky people laughing their faces of and I just freaked out thinking that today is doomsday and everyone except me have gone terribly insane.

lol i use to work at wonderland and they close the roller coasters when theres heavy rain so what do u think would happen if theres a tornado in the region, ya maybe u where sarcastic but those tornados weren't

how rare is it to have a fucking tornado in the Toronto area? this is weird

Very rare. Usually tornados happen it areas where its just opended. Toronto has buildings and homes and barley any open area. Its probably a 20% chance a tornado would hit toronto. Even if it is as little as 20%, it could still happen. But i can tell you one thing...This was just a message from mother nature for worse to come.

worse to come?? like snow in summer. Tornadoes around here are rare, but when they do happen, it is only during COLD summers like this one. In a hot summer like 2005, we rarely even see a thunderstorm. So if global warming is for real, then eventually, tornadoes will never again happen around here during the summer.

i was there!

i was at Vaughan Mills when the tornado was going on!

it was crazy.

i was having a bubble tea then all of a sudden you hear BOOOOOOOM!

when i went to go see what happened.

the tornado had hit the hit of the mall and broke a wall.

there was foam and dust and stuff flying everywhere!

this was not the tornado part of the storm. You were in the part BEFORE the tornado hit. The tornado formed on Major Mac. in between Wonderland and Vaughn Mills. It was much brighter skies and no rain when it formed

I know! I couldn't believe it either, it was bad from where we were sitting but we were truly LUCKY, everyone who was stuck in the stop and go on that section of the 400 at that time was to be honest.

Yes, I'M aware of that...lol...  Actually its kind of funny because my sister lives in the Caribbean and she's been on hurricane lockdown for the last week or so.

My wife works within a kilometer of where one of the funnels touched down in Vaughn. She had left work early, fortunately. Where we live, just north of Newmarket, it was nasty all around but nothing hit close to us, thank god!

The orange light afterward was eerie.

Wow you were lucky she left! We were hearing that one touched down in Newmarket on the news along with that one that hit Durham. The lighting really WAS creepy, it doesn't show it on the video but the atmosphere all around was thick brown.

you know what funny down the street from wonderland there are houses with roofs pulled off and windows smashed in and that people need to go home to that. which is pretty much where i live.

I mean I'm sure you all didn't know that at the time..so it's okay to keep a happy heart so let not get mad at people for laughing now.

why the hell are you laughing there was a f2 or f3 tornado that damaged homes in vaughan and your laughing you got to be serious about these type of storms like if there is a tornado get off the highway and pull over until it passes. Good upload though it was in good quality

There was no where to get off the highway by the way...we thought about it but all the overpasses were full underneath and we thought it just best to keep going and get out of there.

I was in the arcade beside top gun in wonderland an i seen the tornado it was scary and awsome at the same time . we were stuck there for likke 2 hours

I just came back fromt there it was so scary i was in the line up for scooby doo\s hanuted masion and we hear the lightning strike the ceiling and we rana nd we saw the tornado coming it was the scariest thing ever
