Jesus existed before Mary. Mary was a "channel" to bring Jesus to the human form. She should be an example to us, but not be worshiped. She had a mission, and she did it successfuly, but she was a human like every one of us. Our worship should be to God alone, as the 1st commandment states: "Thou shalt have none other gods before me". Worship of other humans only came when Rome mixed Christianity with the Pagan religion, introducing the saints and changing the Sabbath to the Sun god day, Sunday.

If Mary is not the Mother of G-d, then Jesus is not the Son of G-d. It is pure logic. Jesus is G-d. Mary is the mother of Jesus. Ergo, Mary is the Mother of G-d. This has been Christian doctrine since the early 5th Century.

My choir did this song and it was such an amazing experience for us. This sounds beautiful... but why were the words changed to Holy Father instead of Mother Mary?

@paigealannah Presbyteriansjust like other Protestant Churches do not believe in the universal Motherhood of Mary. God cannot have a mother.
