  • very green...

  • How warm does it get there in the summer? Are there flights to Greenland from Canada or the USA? Are there any decent motels? Thank you!

  • @cosybully In southern Greenland, where this was filmed, the climate would be very much like arctic Canada or Alaska - that means cold, with temperatures hardly never getting into the 70s (f). Most international flights are out of Europe (Denmark) but there are flights from Canada too (Iqaluit in Nunavut) though not as frequent. There's not a single motel in the country (no highways/roads between towns - boats and flights only).

  • 2.00 now THATS how you relax! :D

  • Beautiful

  • cool fact: only 57000 people live there

  • YEAH Narsaq...aliana'!!!

  • can you snow board there?

  • @KevinZrice yep! heli-skiing is what I want to do there.

  • can you buy cannabis in greenland if so for how much are where do hoou go and what is the punishment for getting caught, thanks

  • @mcpartridgeboy Hahaaa, that's a first! I don't think there's a country where you can't get a hold of some form of illegal drug. Drugs are not so widespread in Greenland - the island being as isolated as it is. I have no clue about what punishment you get but I'm sure it partly depends on the amount you have on you when caught.

  • @inukjorgensen why didnt yhou buy any where you offered some ?

  • That''s superb.

  • such a beutiful country, dont be offended with this but ive been to iceland and some people are lets say some sort of racist,

are the locals in greenland abit racist?

  • @glory2die Thanks for the nice comment. To the best of my knowledge I don't think conventional racism is a big thing in Greenland. The country is simply too multi-ethnic for that. Is there a strong sense of nationality in Greenland, yes. To the point of racism, no.

  • is this a country ??

  • Greenland is so big,yet so unnoticed.

  • Is there oil in or around Greenland?

  • Thanks !

    From N-Norway. : )

  • WOW! I thought Greenland is only ice! where are the penguins and polar bears??

  • @kittykatro And youtubes stupid mother fucker award goes to xxxxxxxxxxxxx YOU!

  • @kittykatro Penguins live on the souther hemisphere. The polars bears didn't come out the day I brought my camera. Sorry. Wish they had though!

(they are not so common where these pictures were shot, chances are there wasn't any around for about 1,000km or so)

  • @inukjorgensen How did Denmark take control of Greenland and why is it called Greenland when most of it's land is covered in snow?

  • @ocram3200 Ever since the time of the Vikings Greenland has had strong bonds with Scandinavia, especially Denmark since much of Scandinavia was under Danish rule at the time. They, the Vikings, were also the ones to call the island by its name: Greenland. I guess you could call it pre-television advertisement... ;-)

  • @inukjorgensen Thanks so much for your help!

  • I have yet to see a tree.

  • im confused..which is the largest island in the world? greenland or australia?

  • @SykesNathan Greenland

    Australia is a continent.

  • @Udany147 oh ok..well but its an island too

  • @SykesNathan Is America (North and South) a big island too then?

  • i hope my country is like that!!

  • @inphrased No they don't have Internet there because I live there 2 years and NO NO NO :( it sucked

  • amazing place ~

  • actually australia is the largest island in the world

  • i heard they recently opened a wal-mart in greenland.

  • what i find fascinating is how this country hardly has any flora and yet looks so beautiful with all that snow.

Is it really hard for grass to grow?

  • Wow greenland looks amazing :D

  • I wish I could go there one day. So peaceful, so far away from the world as we know it. Screw all the warm, lazy tourists destinations. This is way more fascinating.

  • mabye im wrong but isn't Antarctica bigger

  • Looks like Alaska.

  • Do people have internets in there?

  • i've always been somewhat fascinated with greenland...it's such a massive body of land, yet so few people seem to visit...is much of it uninhabitable? is there a main city...what is the nightlife like....what do most people do for a living? are there colleges there? what languages are spoken? are there any black people there? sorry for all the questions, just curious

  • @MurphGiovanni Greenland is covered by the second largest ice sheet in the world, so yea much of it is uninhabitable (80% in fact). The official language is Greenlandic (an Inuit dialect) but the country is mostly bilingual (Danish). There are a few collages, one university with a limited number of subjects, so young people have to go abroad for an education. 99% of the people in Greenland are Inuit and/or Danish. The night life is, as most other places, OK - it's no London or NYC 'course. :-)

  • @MurphGiovanni The main city is Nuuk. It's also the capital, it's the largest city with a population of around 15,000. The people who live in cities are not really Iniut, since they do normal city jobs. But, the Iniut population is still strong, with most of them fishing to feed themselves.

  • @MurphGiovanni i have the same curiosity as well! Very underrated place.

  • i really love the sukdiksak tribe best, their women are lusty

  • the departure with that sunlight gave me sad thoughts

  • I have a teacher whose last name is Jorgensen and she says her ancestors are from Denmark and it kind of reminds me of your youtube account name inukjorgensen.

  • it looks like howling fjord in warcraft :)

  • I♥Greenland

  • My Mom grew up in Greenland, it seems so magical, I have yet to go there even though it's very close to where I live.

  • I'd really like to know how they figure Greenlands an island. I mean it's nearly 900,000 sq. miles.

  • @esca8652 It's on the North American continent. It's just a very very big island - but still an island, just like the ones above Canada.

  • they should set up a proffesional football league here. they could use icebergs as pitches and the seals, polar bears and penguins can make up the crowd

  • Is... Canada,Mexico,United States & Greenland

    Oh yeah.! xD

  • One of Greenland's most important natural resources is an abundance of fresh water. This will play an important role in the future. Loved the stone carvings, there's something mystical about them. Is the Niviarsiaq native to Greenland?

  • @JackRussellTerrier2 The Niviarsiaq is the national flower of Greenland due to the simple fact that it is the only flower that grows all around the country - from the south to the very north of the island.

  • I like the sound

  • Greenland is the most amazing place I had ever been

  • I been to Greenland before back in 1992. I wish I can go there again!

  • Cool video, thanks for posting it.

  • isilark the temp is cooler or warmer depends where you go nuuk is mild low 10s to mid 30s in winter suner 40s to 50s

  • Australia is a continent, not an island!

  • @Bartflikweert Australia is within a continent, it isn't a continent itself.

  • greenland beatiful

  • I like how the water is flowing. BTW, Greenland has more water freshwater than any other country.

  • wooooow!!

  • Nuuk Nuuk 4 lyfe my nigga.

  • pretty

  • are the oceans there cold in the summer to swim?

  • Wow, I think this country is the most calming and spiritual one.

  • Australia is the world's largest island, but Greenland is the world's largest island that is not a continent. Just to clear things up.

  • How many people live on this island? I thought it was largely unpopulated.

  • @gotch09 50,000

  • @yoshjedi Wow, it's way more populated than i thought. Are there any major cities or town?

  • @gotch09 Yes, but the most populated city in the country is the capital Nuuk. It has a population of around 15,000 people. Compared to Paris with 11 million it is very unpopulated. Greenland is the least densely populated country in the world. This doesn't mean that it is the least populated though.

  • @yoshjedi And gee, here I was thinkin' that Greenland was just one cold iceberg! Did you know that when I mentioned Greenland to somebody at work this week they looked at me like I had to be making this place up? They didn't believe Greenland even existed. I swear, it's true.

  • wORLD'S LARGEST island...Australia OR Greenland?? I m CONFUSED...!

  • Comment removed

  • Auzzie is some 2,5x bigger than Greenland. According to Wikipedia Auzzie is 7.6 million square kilometres (world's smallest continent) - Greenland a mere 2.2. Size and climate decide what can be called an island, and apparently Auzzie can't. A search for the difference on Google will give you more. Thanks for the interest.

  • Tell that to Australia. They allwasys say aus is an island lol. Anyway i wont be losing sleep over it.

  • @inukjorgensen Australia is a continent.. The smallest one at that.

  • @MsCivilwar I thought Australia was like India, it was considered a sub-continent. I could be wrong, it's been a long time since I read that.

  • @MsCivilwar Australia is the continent, while Greenland is the world's largest

    island that is not continent.

  • @MsCivilwar No. Eurasia is.

  • @MsCivilwar australia is the biggest island in the world

  • @MsCivilwar

Largest island that is not considered a continent. That's how.

  • @leinadetienne Exactly.

Geenland is the largest island in the world, Australia can't be called an island because it's a continent.

America is practically one gigantic island but no one calls it an island, it's a continent.

If we based it on continents, Antartica is the largest island in the world since it's the largest continent. Antartica is WAY larger than Australia.

  • Australia is continent

  • @MsCivilwar australia is a continent lol

  • whats the temp like in Greenland ?

  • It varies quite a bit. In Qaqortoq in southern Greenland, where most of this was filmed, the average temp is 3 deg. above the point of freezing (celcius) for the whole year. Summer days at 10+ are common but rarely around 20. Winters can be cold and temps range from 20 below to 10 above the point of freezing (coldest month has an average of 3 degrees below in Qaqortoq).

  • @isilark temperature VARIES FROM -9 TO 7 degree C...

  • GOD how I miss Greenland, and Qaqortoq!

  • Such a beautiful island!

I badly want to go there!

  • Last time i checked the temperature of qaqortoq and it was like 12C (55F), with like crazy 60km/h wind... that's even warmer than where i come from, new york!!!

    p.s. i'd like to visit greenland. i think it's a beautiful place

  • Greenland looks nice I would love to go there someday it looks so peacefull.

  • Che spettacolo-What a sight

  • Grenland - it pregodnaya for settlement land. The Danes could settles at a latitude of 70 degrees here in Russia at this latitude are large cities with populations over 100 000, 200 000 and 300 000 inhabitants

  • Looks like a great vacation spot :)

  • beautiful!!!

  • My uncle (he's Danish) lived in Greenland for a while, and I think he liked it.

Would you consider Greenland a cheerful country?

    Lovely video, anyhow :)

  • Thanks.

Yeah, in my opinion Greenland is a cheerful country - if you meant whether the people were kind, hospitable, and into having a good time. If that's the case then a clear yes. I certainly find Greenlanders to be all those things. (but like all others we do have some bad apples amongst us too, hahahah)

  • maybe im wrong, but im fairly sure australia is a bit bigger island

    good vid though

  • Greenland is an island and Australia is considered a continent due to its size (Australia is way bigger!). A search for the difference between island and continent will give you more on the topic.

  • dude go to google maps and zoom out where you can see the whole world and you can see greenland is over twice as big =) as australia

  • Auzzie is some 2,5x bigger than Greenland. According to Wikipedia Auzzie is 7.6 million square kilometres (world's smallest continent) - Greenland a mere 2.2.

(but you're right, it looks bigger. Sure there's a million people downunder that know it isn't though.)

  • what do you mean its clearly bigger

the same with texas poeple that think texas is the biggest state even though alaska is almost half as big as the whole united states i wouldnt trust Wikipedia its kinda a joke greenland is bigger then south america

  • On the flat google map Greenland is exaggerated in size and a little out of place...hard to put a spherical planet on a flat square

  • kalaaliuvunga ;)

  • It isn't as green as all that, but what I see in this video there is the liveable part of greenland.but of coarse its along the far southern shores of the very large island that 90% ice-cap. I live in the real greenland in the west coast of Canada, some people call lotusland. we get alot of damp wet weather throughout late autumn until early spring...but you'd be surprized too by the abundance of sunshine we geet here even art this time of the year...Vancouver Canada that is. thx for posting.

  • (80% is ice cap)

  • Looks like a beautiful country

  • green land is so beutiful i cant what to move there

  • Greenland is Peaceful,and wonderful :')

and Italy or F*cking italia ,.. is not better than our country,.. ;)

and sorry i did say with F-words XD

  • is there possibly 1 or 2 trees?

  • Some places, at south Greenland, are there actually trees, at the high of 3-5, or above, meters

  • Very Pretty.. I would love to visit Greenland...

  • Hahahaah, that's a first! Italy is beautiful, it really is, but I ask you this: is it, the looks of the country, something you don't see elsewhere?

Thanks for the comment though. Grazie.

  • Shame of italy; first of all learn to write in correct english....donk "the must beatiful???

I'm proud to be italian and i dream to travel to Kalaallit Nunaa - the land of people -someday.....

  • Kalaallit Nunaat, sorry

  • For your info: the meaning of Kalaallit Nunaat is not "land of people" but "land of the Greenlanders"

    ; )

  • at least you can grow nice olive trees.

I live in South Carolina and I cant grow olive trees here.

  • any trees?

  • This is one of the best videos I've seen! Thank you for making and sharing it! I wish I could use it for my Geography class!

  • where's the civilization?

  • ahh...greenland...

    57000 people only...

    and peasefull nuuk,,,great!

but i don understand why it is the worlds biggest

island, but not bigger then australia.....

  • Greenland is an island and Auzzie is a continent. It's got something to do with how the weather in the middle of the piece of land is influenced by the surrounding ocean. A search for island vs. continent will give you more on the topic. Thanx for the interest.

  • autralia is considerrd a continant

but anyways i tottlay agree with you.

  • Hi, is it ok, if I use your video as film clips, for a youtube video I'm making? I will credit you ofcourse, if it's ok that is.

  • Yeah sure. But only 'cause you asked so nicely.

  • thanks, I will post the video, so you can see what it was used for. :)

  • wats d wheather in greenland like...i mean around 365 days ????

  • Short question, long answer. Greenland covers several climate zones so it's not a simple matter. In southern Greenland, where this footage was shot, I guess the average all-year temp is above the point of freezing - maybe 3-5 degrees celcius. That said, 25 below in winter and 15-20 degrees in summer are not unheard of. Lately though, this has changed and the weather is VERY unpredictable. Climate change???...

  • yes in greenland, not in the ice as you can see

  • so do people actually live here?

  • I lived there back in 1917...great country, much better than America.

  • rofl

  • very beautiful place! I'd surely want to visit it!

  • So would I. One of the last free places on the planet.

  • What about Canada :"(

  • Maybe they should start a ecological program while they still have fresh running water to get a couple hundred trees up

  • One time I flew over Greenland and it was the most beautiful landscape i'd ever seen! Ever since then I've always wanted to go hiking and kayaking (to explore the awesome coastlines) there. What an amazing place, even from 30,000 feet!

  • I think I must have flown over Greenland too...in January I went over some place that was snow as far as the eye could see. I love looking out at the different lands when on a plane.

  • You mean Northern Canada >:P

  • Comment removed

  • one of few places on earth that remind moeh of iceland. love it. (also one of few places i would actuaueally want to live)

  • Beautiful!

Hey is it true that in Greenalnd they have 6 months of days with no nights and the rest is 6 months without any light?

  • Thanks.

Well its not entirely true - in the most northern part of Greenland I think they go something like 2 months without sunlight, in the south the sun shines for a minimum of 4 hours a day during the darkest of winters. Vice versa during summers. The summers without night and winters without sun only occur north of the Arctic Circle (66° 33′39″), leaving the southern part of Greenland untouched by the phenomenon.

  • as an independent . i would love to stay in greenland! lol

  • una fantastica terra, magari la potessi visitare!!!

An amazing place, if I can visit it...

  • Amazing Video! Please posts more videos like that about Greenland if you can :)

  • Absolutely BEAUTIFUL and SERENE! I'd love to visit there sometime. I talk to Ham Radio operators (Amateur Radio) in Greenland from time to time, and was invited there by one of them.

  • they seem pretty isolated there...do greenlanders have access to world media news? do they have a nightlife? they seem very different from other nations

  • Yes, most Greenlanders have access to media like the internet, films, and TV, though the number of channels to choose from is limited to say the least. Whether it is isolated or not is a matter of debate: geographically it is remote and getting from one place to another can be a hassle (it is the arctic where the weather is in charge + long distances), there is not much nightlife (apart from local pubs in each town) - but that does not seem to be a problem. Certainly not if you're used to it.

  • What language do they speak in Greenland?

  • Greenlandic, an Inuit/Eskimo dialect closely related to the Inuit languages in Canada and Alaska, is the official language of the country though Danish is also very widespread (Greenland is a former colony of Denmark and is still a part of the Kingdom of Denmark).

  • Canada should has a transportion network with Greenland with aHarbour waiting fr them thea highway to ship it off to another Harbour in Greenland.

  • Great vid mate!

  • nice place

  • Fantastic video what a beautiful place would love to go for a vist.

  • Fantastic. Greenland needs to hire you to do their tourism films and ad spots.

    Elegant production values.

  • Sådan! Elsker Grønland :-)

  • Great video! Well done!

  • I loved your video! I went to Greenland about 13 years ago! This video brought back so many beautiful memories of how amazing Greenland is!

  • i want to move there

  • It is beautiful, beautiful!

  • This was very nicely done, thanks.

  • Tak for kigget - dejligt at se der er film som dine derude ;-)
