No; actually, this song is a traditional song from New Orleans. The Animals covered it. They were the first Rock &Roll band to cover it, I think, but it was not their song. Joan Baez, has also a nice cover of the song, but I don't know if is before or after the Animals' one.

By the way, Bryan Johnson's voice with Geordie is unbelievable!

This is definatly Brian. There is no way one of the best bands in rock n roll history gonna take a front man thats gonna butcher a song like this by screaming his ass off. Too bad Brian wasn't 35 years younger, he would have given alot of these younger singers like Chris Cornell a run for his money. this is brian's normal singing voice. you don' t screech through your teeth if you sing naturally. bon, for example, sang like he spoke the words like in gone shooting, dirty deeds and in others.
