It's just an artifact from the telescope mirrors used, as many of the images were taken decades ago. The crosshair-shaped thing is called the "spider" and the blue-ish area is due to the star's light reflecting off the telescope's mirror. The dark area in the middle is a secondary mirror.
hi, i found some of the same things. i go into the wwt cross phenomenon a little in one of my vids. i enjoyed yours, thanks for sharing. this is some next level strange corporate manipulation goin on with the wwt. no doubt about it. keep lookin up!
