  • The PD31 is similar to the XENO 03 at 430 lumens. It has a very wide beam and really throws a lot of light over a wide area, but it doesn't seem like it's so bright because at 200 feet or so the light is dispersed, but it still lights up trees even at that distance. So it's all in spot vs flood, but the Xeno is still cranking out 430 bright lumens. It really comes down to what you prefer or need the light for. But I find the Xeno to be more effective even than some thrower lights.

  • Hahaha that HID is blazing bright...

U know it almost looks like a police helicopter's spotlight..literatly

By the way I do the same thing as you,I have a good 12 high powered lights just laying around everywhere but I still have an emergany light in a little box...the PT-2l streamlight..

    Great video by the way

  • how is the throw on on the Jetbeam? I've been on CPF for a few days now and still can't decide on a flashlight. I saw that all of your videos are Fenix. You would prefer a Jetbeam over the Fenix e21, quark 123, and zebralight c51w+? I've almost given up looking and settled with the dorcy 180 lumen flashlight on amazon for 17 dollars. Have you any experience with Dorcy cyberlight and nebo redline (top sellers on amazon)?

  • @power5005k I haven't compared the BA20 next to the E21, but it looks like the throw is similar.. distance & intensity. the BA20 will have a larger hotspot and brighter spill area. I have mostly Fenix lights, but I've played with a bunch of Jetbeam lights my co-worker has and they are on par with quality of the Fenix lights. you get brighter and better run times with the BA20 over the E21. A Jetbeam or Zebralight will be my next purchase for sure. I have not seen the Dorcy or nebo lights

  • @power5005k I do own the 4 Sevens miniX, and played with their other lights. They are excellent as well. Very similar to the Fenix lights. The Zebralights really have my attention now. if you click on the "compare all models" button on the main page you can see some upcoming lights. The T5 looks to be awesome as well as the SC80. These are smaller lights though.. single AA. Are you looking for a single or double AA light? small EDC? or just around the house like you mentioned earlier?

  • @energythoughts I was looking for something that could fit in my pocket. Not too small though. I ended up doing more research and liked the fenix ld25. I can't find any good ba20 videos to show what it can do. I still need your help on deciding lol I found this cool website fonarik dot com. He tests all the flashlights. I am still hoping you can help me narrow it down....

  • @power5005k fonarik is cool, and good number of lights too. LD25 looks nice. neutral white is nice, plus it has the 3 lumen camping mode & SOS mode, where the E21 & BA20 are only low/high. LD25 total output sits between the BA20 & E21. another thing to consider.. tail stand ability.. to light up a room during power failure. E21 & LD25 can't, where BA20 can. A two AA light gets a little long/top heavy for tailstanding, but it's very handy when you need it.

  • @power5005k I recently got the BA20 and I have a video comparing the E21 & BA20 on my channel here. The throw is a little shorter than the E21, but with a larger, less bright hot spot. The E21 is more spot and the BA20 is more flood.

  • Can you reccomend a good flashlight? I'm not looking to spend too much money $25-50. I want something super bright and it won't be used for much except for around the house and to show off lol

  • @power5005k it depends on what kind of batteries you would like to use. you can get higher output with CR123's than you can AA, but they are harder to find and more expensive. Jetbeam make high quality lights with a good bang for the buck. The Jetbeam BC20 ($43) puts out 305 Lumens and uses 2 CR123 batteries. If you want to stick with AA batteries there is a BA20 ($40) puts out 270 Lumens on 2 AA batteries.. For the money these are high quality flashlights with good output for the dollar.

  • @energythoughts definitely only would like AA battery flashlights

  • e21 gets 150 lumens with normal batteries?

  • @deeaxident the 150 lumen rating was done with Ni-MH rechargeables, but I would think the output on regular Alkaline batteries would be similar. I've only used the E21 with Ni-MH rechargeables and Energizer lithium primaries. Either way it's a great light as far as output and build quality for the price.
