@raybradburywriter I don't know about the 'annihilated' part, but going by the bit they sourced from the forums of Brett Anderson's site, Anderson claims that a lot of people were offended by it, also saying "i suppose because it just wasn't the sort of thing that they wanted from Suede (which was kind of the point)." I wonder if maybe people thought the song was too sentimental or schmaltzy. Personally I thought it was meant to be sarcastic/ironic, especially with the Dynasty reference..

@raybradburywriter the song, AND the album, are good, It's just that "old-school" Suede fans are fucking annoying and think eveything post-Butler is shit.

I would personally hate if Suede had made every album sound the same. They decided to make a more upbeat and lighter album... for those fans that was offensive, don't ask me why. A New morning is not as good as the first 3 albums but it's still a pretty decent one, and this song is pretty good too.

Although this is a decent tune, you can tell Brett was struggling coming up with lyrics on "A New Morning". I absolutely love Suede, own everything they have done officially, but the last album was a bit of a let down in places. Dog Man Star will always remain my favourite

This was a poor choice for first single from the new morning album. There are alot better tracks on the album than this. Lost in tv, astro girl, untitled being the best 3.
