This is not about fairness. Last time I checked, the world was not fair. It is about responsibility. Even if a woman has the responsibility of raising a child thrust on her, the moral and ethical thing to do would be to raise the child. What if your baby had a cleft lip? All 70 of the infants studied produced some tears (See Figure 3 and count the data points). The tear volumes were were lower in the younger, lighter babies but all 70 babies produced tears. Who thinks a human being can exist without lungs capable of breathing air? Its eyes may produce tears, but you gloss over the fact that its lungs and nervous system are not yet developed to the point where the fetus can begin functioning as an organism, therefore is not yet a "baby" or "person" or "human being." It's really not that hard to grasp, if you drop the emotionalism and recognize the clear difference between an actual baby and one still under construction.

@ivyshoots I'm a female and say that after a certain stage in fetus developing since in some states you can get an abortion all the way up to 9months... I just believe at some point the fetus has to be considered human or soon. Like the crazy doctor that was near my town who delivered full term babies then cut into the back of their heads with regular scissors. ( he was arrested for that too.) Poeple are soon going to have no real respect for life anymore. Their should just be a deadline.

Abortions after 24 weeks or so are only done (or should only be done) when there is a medical reason. What happened in Philly was horrific and illegal and nothing any sane person would defend.

A woman chooses to make a new life inside herself with a particular conception, or she opts not to. @perfectbark I think our definitions of abortion aren't the same. Do you care to define yours? Mine is the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy. If you're talking about miscarriages, then that's another topic. In a miscarriage, the baby has already died, spontaneously, not because the mother didn't want it. Abortion is the killing of a baby to stop the pregnancy. Basically, miscarriages' pregnancies have already ended before the "abortion".

You're free to your opinion but be aware that termination is often the most heart wrenching decision in the lives of some families - it's not entered into lightly and there are often far more factors involved that you seem to be insinuating. Tumors don't have heartbeats after two weeks of culminating inside the human body. A fetus/baby is a life, anyone who argues that it is not is just mental and there's no point in trying to debate with those people because there know intelligent, rational thought. The pro-life, pro-choice debate is NOT over whether or not its a life or not, that is scientific fact. The debate is whether or not we should have the choice to end that life growing inside. What if your baby had a cleft lip? I was 32 weeks pregnant, but i had a cleft lip, so I had an abortion, because i don't want a freak baby (and please don't judge me because I had already had 5 abortion but i really wanted to keep that one). I mean, abortion is never the best answer, but if you're baby has a horrible deformity such as cleft lip, or 11 fingers, like one of my other abortions, then it must be done
