When restrictions on polar bear harvests were put in place in the early 1970s, populations rebounded. That situation was a conservation success story ... but the current threat to polar bears is entirely different, and more dire.

Today's polar bears are facing the rapid loss of the sea-ice habitat that they rely on to hunt, breed, and, in some cases, to den.

The only support for that was a series of photos by a photographer who has said PUBLICLY that the photos were taken out of context and used to support global warming nuts agenda. He was just taking pictures of polar bears. There was plenty of land and icebergs around.

Thats quite humorous. The relatives I have in Alaska say there are more Polar Bears than they really need roaming around. And they look quite well feed. But don't take my word for please feel free to visit there and find out for yourself.

I believe that the head of the unit, Phil Jones, should now resign. Some of the data discussed in the emails should be re-analysed.
