you can't blame the companies or the CEO's. These companies have also developed helpful products that save people's live in the military have a practical application in the market place. They will always be around, and as long as American's vote for politicians who go to war for resources, you cannot blame these guys for doing their jobs...
FIX THE DAMNED VIDEO!
"CORRECTION: Lockheed Martin's CEO is Robert Stevens. The video refers to him as "Martin Stevens" which is incorrect."
They sure made killing high tech..but somehow they cant invent something that takes the spirit of freedom from within to be free..War mongering has always been a problem but like they say live by the sword.Cut off funding to the war machine..
This is a very deceptive video - no mention of who OPENLY DEMANDS the wars!! Of course the corporations survive by making as much profit as they can from political realities, so it's easy to shift the blame to them, but they could profit more from sustainable systems, and THEY KNOW IT. In REALITY, no politician can be elected without supporting 110% the Zionists' OPEN DEMAND for war after war. THAT is the "lobby" that matters most - not MENTIONED in this TYPICAL Zionist "dissident" psy-ops.
@dakersting you can't blame the companies either. They have a real purpose in the marketplace. I'm sure Boeing has improved our lives one way or another. Northrop Grumman employs a lot of Americans and pays them living wages. They also develop technology that is used for defense and non offensive means. The wars would have many more dead if it weren't for the improvements the private sector brings
We are creative human beings. When we wake up and give ourselves permission to create and not be controlled we will find power and life affirming ways to take care of ourselves and families without being slaves
It is true the CEOs make alot of money, but it is also true that Northrop Grumman employs over 75,000, Lockheed Martin employs 140,000 people worldwide, Total Boeing 164,495 employees, avg. salary=$76,784. or so I am told, however they have many employees making less than 15$ an hour as well....
@ankitait2 - DON'T KID YOURSELF. EVERYONE who makes profit during war hires lobbyists to pound Washington, pays kickbacks, buy Senators and Representatives. If you've ever done citizen's lobbying yourself you would know just how corrupt the whole thing is. Every day in war is mucho money in the bank for a select few - who use that money to keep war going at all costs - human lives, inhumane injuries, destruction of cities and stirring up hatred between countries.
And without these 'War Profiteers', there would be no internet, it was a DARPA project was it not? developed for the military.
GPS? another military system then developed for civil use
Wireless communication protocols and techniques (ATM for one, I know it kinda sucks, but it was supposed to be the next big thing at one point) developed for the military
Military research budgets put millions into the universities, they develop products initially for military use, but then goes on into civil use
They are just running a business. They provide a product that is needed.
I'm sure in your head the world is all fuking made of candy and gays but it isn't. There are some evil people trying to fuck people over and they need to be blown the fuck up.
@moscoworbust Big Defense colluded behind scenes to basically blackmail Obama into escalating hopeless Afghan War when he was trying to wind it down. Big Defense buys Congress votes to finance billions for unneeded jets, etc., when Pentagon wants money to go for the troops. Big Defense hires retired generals at big salaries, thus ensuring that they look the other way while supervising defense contracts, otherwise they wouldn't get cushy job upon retirement. The list goes on....
@moscoworbust You embarrass yourself big time by this stupid statement.
Go see some of the films that tell the truth about how some of the CEOs have bilked the American public - how they have deliberately overcharged the tax payers. You show your utter stupidity..
Most of the 99% are not dumb and broke. We just know the truth and you obviously do not.
Of course if you don't mind some of the 1% cheating and driving people from their homes with phony mortgages that is another story.
Maybe if you worked harder, were smarter, not a fat overweight lay about dreaming up ideas of conspiracy on the internet you would reach a level of power where you would be involved and understand what is actually happening.
@moscoworbust Well gee I guess you are one of the billionaires. I guess you have big connections in DC where you buy off members of Congress. I guess you are one of the fat cats who gets government subsidies.
Tthis has nothing to do with working hard. I know smart people who have worked hard all their lives and are not billionaires. I guess that you don't care that 25% of the kids in the US live in poverty or that people can't find jobs. BTW, I am not fat or lazy and you're the idiot.
This Occupy movement is anti-capitalist it's a modern color revolution where no significant change will be made just trendy liberal yuppies mindlessly repeating "it capitalism's fault"...They will only give more power to the fascist .001% think about it ;)
@The420Gunslinger "Capitalism" is NOT the problem in this country. The problem is ABUSE by rich people who actually get a LOT of their money from government handouts. Look at all the taxpayer subsidies (handouts) that go to Big Ag and Big Pharma, as well as Big Defense. Our economy is NOT capitalist. It's actually a kind of socialism for the rich, who use their wealth to get more and more taxpayer money from their bought-and-paid-for politicians. Defense CEOs use OUR money to get MORE tax money.
These people must have the blood of some evil entity pumping in their veins, I mean ask yourself if $30 million a year is enough to have you dirty your hands in this business? I know some of us would jump at the chance, I must say It would be awfully tempting, I know after the first news cast of the weapons I helped to build, destroying homes and lives I would turn the gun on myself. I know there are so many like us who know that wrong is wrong, we are the ones who will change the world.
The trouble with AMERICA, is we have WAY TOO MANY ignorant uneducated idiots who haven't a clue as to why this country is falling apart! Many of which are Too busy with their bling bling T.V./Gaming/Cell Phone Texting, OVERSEAS PRODUCT Mall Shopping distractions, STATUS SYMBOL cars, jewelery, clothes they can't afford (illegal drug activity, stolen property sales) and wasted money on sex drugs and late night partying, all equaling = DUMB ASS MORONS!
A decade of war is still about as much as a single year's deficit. And total defense spending is still less than 30 percent of the total budget; behind social security, medicare and medicaid and other government assistance. The spending on these contracts and the wars in general are closer 3rd or 4th on the list of programs the government spends too much of our money on. So this is not the first place to look if we really want to cut a bunch of extra spending.
@panthersno15 "defense spending is still less than 30 percent of the total budget; behind social security, medicare and medicaid and other government assistance."
WHAT ARE YOU ON? DRUGS? OR JUST BORN BUTT PHUQ STUPID? IT'S THE IGNORANT BLIND NARROW MINDED IDIOTS LIKE YOURSELF THAT CAN'T SEE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE KILLING BUSINESS OF WAR AND MEDICAL AID AS GOOD HUMANITARIANISM. PLEASE LEAVE THIS COUNTRY BEFORE SOMEONE LIKE ME GETS A HOLD OF YOU!
@panthersno15 - Percentage of total spending is not the issue. This is about corporate greed, war profiteering and the ability of the military/industrial complex to push our nation into unjustified wars so they can profit from them. This is criminal activity and cannot be justified by any ethical or moral code of which I am aware. We are the 99%!
@panthersno15 We are not looking for spending cuts. We are looking for blood sucking, parasitic criminals who make personal fortunes from selling death and destruction. The military/industrial complex pushes our country into wars for their own profit and it is disgusting. I saw this in Vietnam and I am sick when I think of the lives and treasure wasted by war criminal George W. Bush. If American leaders cannot be tried for war crimes, they should discard the whole idea.
@panthersno15 Social security is paid out of a trust fund. The money is raised and spent separate from income taxes. The 38% we of the buget we spend on war does not include expenses from past wars, such as veterans expenses. If you add what we are paying for past wars, that's another 18%, so it's really up to 56%. Even if I thought it was only 30%, I have to ask myself- Has that money been well spent? Are we safer? And the answer is "No". "War is a racket",
Don't hate the player, hate the game. The underlying mechanics of the way our monetary system operates is what rewards the corrupt behavior we see in these individuals. Until we go to the root cause of the problem, corrupt behavior will continue to emerge as long as it's rewarded. It's going to take much more than just removing a few people from their positions of power to truly solve the biggest social problems. Open your mind and think harder people.
The point here is that Trillions of our dollars are spent towards this- if we want to get out of our national debt and balance the budget- this would be a good place to start. If instead we moved this money towards Renewable Energy, or Local Farming Initiatives, or a host of other things to better our country, vs destroying others- just imagine what we can create if we're not destroying!
There are nations in Europe which have found solutions to most of our worst problems and yet, we hear nothing about these proven social solutions. Why? Because they do not make obscene amounts of money for the 1%. This must stop. Down with the 1%! We are the 99%!
You moronic sheep think that a government capable of spreading small pox to orphans and giving syphilis to its own soldiers couldn't be so evil as to attack its own people on 911. LOL
@needparalegal ... I DO think it's evil enough to attack its own people- because the war profiteers knew just how much could be made... the fact that the cost of the wars up until 2008 and the bailout in 2008 were roughly the same figures- to me that shows it was all tied together, 9/11, the unjustified wars, the financial collapse, the bailout- all well orchestrated as the wool was pulled over the sheep's eyes... Now others (many) are waking up to this- and starting to connect the dots...
It's all missing the point. How many of us know someone who profits from war? How many know someone who works for GM, FORD or Chrysler? How about IBM, GE, or Boeing? How about people who own stock in these companies? Did you know there is a Pizza Hut in Iraq? So we would have to include Pizza Hut too, right? The point is that money is a system and we all benefit from the system. That's why we don't want to change it, right? Get honest!
@nodesnetwork I disagree- The local organic food store employs more people, at higher wages, with better working conditions, a better psychological atmosphere, and distributes LOCAL goods (not goods grown in Chile or New Zealand or China) made by LOCAL people- you cannot say the same about Pizza Hut or McDonalds. That is the point- and I thank you for helping to prove it. Obesity, Diabetes, Cancer, Crohns, depression, etc... all on the rise along with crappy food... our health for profit? NO!

American exceptionalism… it’s enough to give imperialism a bad name.
obligatory Smedley D Butler quote: "War is a racket. Always has been. It is the oldest, most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is international in scope and the only one in which profit is reckoned in dollars, and the losses in lives. A racket is something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war, a few people make huge fortunes." cont...

“What happens is in all of these movements, the foot soldiers of the elite - the blue uniformed police, the mechanisms of control - finally don’t want to impede the movement and at that point the power elite is left defenseless. the only thing I can say, having been in the middle of similar movements, is that THIS one is real, and this one could take them all down. I can guarantee you that huge segments of those blue uniformed police sympathize with everything that you’re doing.” ~ Chris Hedges
WE MUST OVERTHROW the Wall Street oligarchs, corporate fascists and war profiteering sociopaths who've hijacked our government - OR condemn ourselves, and our kids, to a grim future of endless wars of empire, enslavement to debt to finance those wars; stripped of civil liberties, inalienable rights & freedoms sacrificed in the name of 'homeland security', 'Total Information Awareness' (look it up) and police state tyranny. REVOLTNOW

With no central demand U*R allowing MSM & Governments to frame the debate... Right now they are debating HOW MUCH MONEY & HOW to collect it FROM YOU... Reframe the debate under One*Demand, iDC Individual Directed Capitalization HOW YOUR MONEY IS SPENT... Everything else will follow that thread, creating a global, moral peoples movement.
Every system in existence can be judged very easily using one word: 'Sustainability'. Is that system, sustainable? at what price? and for how long? Factor in as much data as possible (economic AND social) and you get your answer. The military industrial complex is proving to be very unsustainable. It makes money for too small a group, and only profits while it can create misery.
war does cost. what is the relationship between NY finance, think tanks in WA, and the military contractors. i believe this bit is intentionally deceptive and doesn't discuss neocon orchestrating the whole bit.
wait, a quick google search of "lockheed martin martin stevens" returns nothing. CEO of lockheed martin is Robert Stevens. Probably should fix that error. I'm not claiming that it discredits the video but others might...
Everyone needs to learn that 9/11 was the American regime nuking its own largest city, and it created the China Syndrome which then poisoned thousands of responders and millions of NY residents.
"I spent thirty-three years and four months in active military service as a member of this country's most agile military force, the Marine Corps. And during that period, I spent most of my time being a high class muscle-man for Big Business, for Wall Street and for the Bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism." At the time of his death Major General Butler was the most decorated Marine in U.S. history
In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the militaryindustrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. - General Dwight D. Eisenhower
Reuters is accusing financier and philanthropist George Soros of bankrolling the Occupy Wall Street movement, pointing to "indirect financial links" between Soros and Adbusters, an organization that has claimed credit for the protests. Reuters is being rewarded for its efforts to scapegoat George Soros, the right wing neoCONS favorite bogeyman.
now we're talking. these machiavellian war profiteers and sociopaths are whom we really ought to direct our outrage at.
call me old-fashioned, but i'd be delighted to see Martin Stevens' head mounted on a stick and paraded through lower Manhattan to serve as a warning to other would-be war profiteers.
the Military-Industrial Complex is "a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money"
@beckweth - oh and what homework is that, smartass? Soros is a hedge fund billionaire, another idle rich parasite who made a fortune on Wall Street. the criminal bankers and war profiteers are Soros friends, yet here you are claiming he's financing the OWS movement to take America down??
ADBUSTERS, a Vancouver-based counter-culture magazine came up with the 'occupy wall street' idea. the only 'connection' that Soros has to Adbusters is through Tides foundation, but Soros is not bankrolling OWS.
@beckweth - the Soros conspiracy propaganda has got to stop. it's mindless drivel. Soros and the Wall Street oligarchs are bosom bum buddies. their interests are mutual. so it's absurd to make George Soros out to be 'leftist kingpin' / 'chief financier' of OWS - a movement which is demanding that our financial regulators reign-in the parasitic greed of hedge fund billionaires and speculators like Soros himself. it makes no sense. Soros and OWS are ideologically-opposed, to say the least.
@techcafe - You're so funny! But, seriously - do your homework, and keep an open mind. Also, look up Hegelian Dialect - nord. twu. net/ acl/ dialectic. html
@ycmgh wrote: "they are seeking to channel discontent into a reelection campaign for Oblahblah"
WHO are THEY??
OWS is NOT partisan, although the Democrats ARE attempting to co-opt the movement, but they will FAIL. Barack Obomber is Bush 2.0, and we all KNOW THAT. far as we're concerned, BOTH Repugnants/Dumbocrats are two sides/same coin. the corporate/criminal duopoly that rules Washington is a FARCE, and everyone knows it. we are seeking revolution, not compromise.
Hell, since the history of man, we (the masses) have only been voting "freely" for 200 yrs. And most of the planet isn't even doing that today. With China, South America, Africa and the US with its 2 party system which is a joke because that's not a choice. It's the lesser of 2 evils. One party controls China, 2 parties control the US, not much difference there. And the truest oldest profession in the world is the spear maker.
When the economy goes down, even those $28M of that CEO will be worthless. Those CEO's are not stupid enough to not realize this, but they don't know what else to do. They only are servants to the really rich, hiding as the shareholders of those companies. And the same what is true for War Inc., is true for Allopathy Inc. (the big pharma), for Media Inc., for Food Inc., and for the banksters.
March to the Congress and arrest everyone for treason. Now.
"Cliches about supporting the troops are designed to distract from failed policies, policies promoted by powerful special interests that benefit from war.." Ron Paul [Give peace a chance. Vote Ron Paul].
Justifying conscription to promote the cause of liberty is one of the most bizarre notions ever conceived by man! Forced servitude, with the risk of death and serious injury as a price to live free, makes no sense.
@bravekind ya really think the few people with money and power will ever go away. Same shit (for the last 5,000 yrs), Different generation, same control tactics.
Ron Paul is great but he's too old. And some ideas will not fly. liberal democrats will feel completely embarrassed if they voted for him and he won. Because he ain't no liberal. SS would end, medicare would end. he wants local churches to care for people at no cost. At least he would try. But the legalizing of drugs and ending our world occupation/military bases and cutting the defense budget by half I'm all for.
No one should be able to use their money and power to control political outcomes. I don't care who they are. Get ALL the corporate money out of politics.
MOVEON.ORG is a shill organization. DO NOT ALLOW THEM to hijack "our" OCCUPY movement. OCCUPY is FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE! It's getting real and IN YOUR FACE. We MUST NOT enable MOVEON.ORG to hijack OUR movement, lest we effectively turn over OUR power to the controlling/power elite to screw WE THE PEOPLE royally! WAKE UP PEOPLE!
NOW IS THE TIME for the WHOLE TRUTH.
Here it is: MOVEON.ORG is a wolf in sheep's clothing!
Please share this fact widely. PEACE, JOY AND HAPPINESS, ALL WAYS!!
Learn the lesson from President Eisenhower and The Terminator movies. We must guard against the Military Industrial Complex or the disasterous rise of misplaced power will persist.
@MustacheVerra....Do some research and see how much Goldman Sachs is and has donated to the Republican Party and put those idiotic Governors and more into office!

Do Not Be Distracted! WAKE UP! or LOSE IT!
Want to know what is truly DUMBFOUNDING? Knowing all this over 10 years ago, and it seems to have taken this long for the rest of AMERICA to figure it out. Too busy with the distractions of voting for a PUPPET Presidential candidate, fighting over a NON EXISTENT party's (Democrat/Republicans??? LOL, their one and the same!) and believing the commercialized propaganda from your Government and paid off corporate owned FOX News/CNN Opinionated Entertainment masquerading as News. It's no wonder!
@MustacheVerra yes GoldmanSach thought they were purchasing a puppet...but Obama's agenda is to end war as he has done in Iraq.. did you hear.. our troops are coming home. It is the biggest war the 0.1% hugely profited from. GoldmanSach are now financing Mitt Romney.
Pres. Eisenhower warned America about the "military industrial complex." We saw how these people used Vietnam to get rich. 9-11 was the next excuse to build up the war machine and make more billions. Cost of life? Who cares! Get the right-wing Repubs to support the rich to get richer under the guise of "Protecting America!"
Companies don't spend a dollar without doing an ROI. For those of you who don't know that this is, it stands for Return On Investment. When you look at these HUGE amounts of money going into our government in the form of lobbying think about how much they expect to get back out of our government.
In the mean time, they will do what they do best. Pit blacks against whites, Americans against Immigrants, republicans against democrats while they do this crap.
Its about time we all realise that the white steel worker in Boston is no different than the black school teacher in Cambridge or the latino policeman in Southampton. We should rise up and demand that the fascism must end.
@MustacheVerra War Costs isn't partisan...we've been just as hard on Ds as we have on Rs--actually our last video exposes that Ds on deficit committee took more in campaign contributions than Rs.. The point we're making in the above is how much they make and how much they use of our tax dollars to lobby our representatives. These guys make more and spend more on lobbying that Goldman Sachs. People are used to thinking of Goldman Sachs, but war contractors are actually much worse.

Acecool444 4 months ago
@panthersno15 - Percentage of total spending is not the issue. This is about corporate greed, war profiteering and the ability of the military/industrial complex to push our nation into unjustified wars so they can profit from them. This is criminal activity and cannot be justified by any ethical or moral code of which I am aware. We are the 99%!
gaian2000 4 months ago 3
@panthersno15 We are not looking for spending cuts. We are looking for blood sucking, parasitic criminals who make personal fortunes from selling death and destruction. The military/industrial complex pushes our country into wars for their own profit and it is disgusting. I saw this in Vietnam and I am sick when I think of the lives and treasure wasted by war criminal George W. Bush. If American leaders cannot be tried for war crimes, they should discard the whole idea.

ragsjames 4 months ago

How about people who own stock in these companies? Did you know there is a Pizza Hut in Iraq? So we would have to include Pizza Hut too, right? The point is that money is a system and we all benefit from the system. That's why we don't want to change it, right? Get honest!

obligatory Smedley D Butler quote: "War is a racket.

Halliburton and Carlyle group should be included too.
it is important to mention that defense industry produces tremendous amount of inventions that often times find their way to civilian economy.
E.g. High concentration of defense contractors in the bay area gave the foundation to Silicon Valley.
But companies like Halliburton and Blackwater are useless parasites
