  • I'm a middle schooler playing this for a solo on my euphonium. This sounds really good thanks!!!!

  • I watch this everyday

  • @Eleventytwoo Time to record something new then!!! ;)

  • i had never heard this piece until i saw this video. this sounds amazing!

  • @FenceHorse Thanks!

  • wow, its a guy who actually knows what hes doing. im a high school playing this same piece. thanks for such a great example!!! on the part that i have the end of the introd. isnt as long when i get to the small balck notes. were you improving? or do you have a longer extended peice?

  • @highbrassrule he plays wynton marsalis' version of the cadenza

  • un grande !

    ciao da "al"

  • Bravissimo

  • This is about 20 beats slower than it should be... but nice lol.

  • @ShowinYaHow from all the versions I've heard he's actually playing it up-tempo

  • @THEmelloMAN1229 Really? I've been playing it way to fast then...

  • that was sick

  • Bravo!

  • anybody notice he did another take it looks like at 2:19 haha first time ive seen it love this video and watched it for like the 100th time and saw it go black for a second

  • omg I don't even play the instrument and even I think it's so impressive!!!

  • your skills are impressive

  • @troudeballeman Thanks

  • is the second variation supposed to be single tounged or double?

  • @erinehart93 Double

  • I am a come back player traying to pickup where I left very long time ago. Listening to you is amazing how well you can play all those difficult notes from Arban and how well you master the instrument. Bravo!

  • @debbieandjose thanks a lot!

  • @anrapa

I gotta say, I can beat you in the tonguing, just not on the sweet parts.

  • @JRCSFUL Yeah, tonguing is my weak side!

  • @anrapa Even then, REALLY nice job!

  • courtois......evolution

  • man i hav to get back to the trumpet i havent been playing for a month and i probably.....no mostly likely suck now

  • Hello!

Yeah, send me a few videos or audios, I will listen to them!

  • @anrapa ooops, email: antonio.rapacciuolo@gmail.com

  • Wow, amazing video, Im 23 and recently started playing again, wondered if you mind giving me some tips if I send you my efforts. Never played infront of anyone and dont fancy exposing my lack of talent on youtube..... your version doesnt help the confidence either :P. Thanks for posting :D

  • nice to see some talent in a youtube video, its rare

  • How do you triple tongue like that, i keep trying but it never seems to work out for me.

  • @patyoung101 Takes some time, but you can go way faster than I do!

  • Great job! The single tonguing in the second variation was particularly good, and I like that you played the grace notes and turns in the first variation (I can't play them so I just leave them out and add speed!) and it was good that you didn't take the last variation too fast, so the tonguing was all there! Great breath control too in the second variation! I can't get through to the pause in one breath like that!! Although why did you chose not to deliberate on the pauses? (just out of intere

  • My music teacher has given me this to learrn, and I adore your version! I can't wait to play this xD x

  • @SmartieRockz

    Have fun learning it!!!!!

  • Nice finger technique.... lol i hang my fingers over the edge too :)

  • @Bickey08 :)

  • @anrapa Very nicley played. How long have you been playing?

  • @Bickey08 A "few" years. 24 actually. :-)

  • @anrapa Cheers, and well done

  • Great job!!

  • intonation on low Eb, D, and C

    ;)

  • nice monette trumpet! im jealous of anyone with one of those

  • VERY NICE!!!

  • wow! especially the triple tongueing section at the end! that was fantastic! i still have a lot of work today!

  • nice

    very good

    but its very difficult

  • 2.21 is fucking epic

  • I really enjoyed that,I was sitting with my arbans book open&intended on only listening to the introduction, but once I began to listen I started to turn the pages and while the intro is still my fav part you made me want to learn to play the whole thing! My band directors are a tuba player and a clarinet player, so I dont get to hear talent coming out of a trumpet like that so often(by the way, im not a scrub or anything, Ive made ALLSTATE without any private lessons, just practice on my own

  • Thanks!!!

  • well done man! Respect!

  • omygoooooosh.

    I really

    really

    really

    really

    reaaaaalllyyyyy

    love this <3<3

I wish I was as good as you <3

  • @oesie12 :-)

  • no no torna a studiare, ascolta qui!!!!!

  • Just the room

  • The "reverb" you hear is in the piano track, it did have some reverb but it was "multiplied" when I digitally slowed/increased playing speed to match my needs. The trumpet sound you hear is "live", no reverbs, the room was quite tall, thus the nice sound.

  • @anrapa at 1:55, there is quite a noticeable reverb, i'm not talking about the piano track. So, you are not using a SilentBrass or something similar, and it's all just the room?

  • @glord1894 Asked him the same. I'm using a SilentBrass, and the reverb mode sounds pretty familiar. So does wearing earplugs when practicing :)

  • Where is the reverb coming from? Are you using a digital mute, like a Yamaha SilentBrass?

  • Var. III had such bad asserie in it with you looking directly into the camera. LOVED IT!

  • @rymar151 :-D

  • You are really good!! Your sound is so pure and beautiful, I'm so jealous!! I hope to one day play like you.

  • @Trumpetplayer2013 Hey, thank you!!! :) Keep playing a studying, sound and tecnique will improve!

  • @anrapa By the way, I'm looking for a piece for intermediates, got any suggestions? I'm planning on performing a piece next year for Solo/Ensemble.

  • @Trumpetplayer2013 You should look at bride of the waves by H. clarke if you haven't used it before. beautiful piece. all the componets of a good piece are present. check it out. you'll like it.

  • Wow I wish I could have played like this at my recital.

  • you need some sleep

  • This really helped! I have a playing test on this in my band in a couple of days. Plus your tone is really good!

  • It depends on the language, in Italian is Fantasia

  • is the name supposed to be fantasia or fantaisie? >-<

  • nice one

  • Is the rythm sometimes incorrect because you can't hear loud enough in the earphones?

  • @FreeMaxGoldi Yeah, unfortunately.

  • @anrapa keep us posted when you out a studio (or concert) version? =)

  • This is an Epic Win.

  • that was buitifull. I have been playing for 4 years but IDK what imdoing wrong there are days were i sound amazing and days were i cant evan get out a middle C

But i just started learning this and i am hpoing to fo to states with this solo for solo ensambles.

senceally fellow trumpet player (10th grade)

  • @Besttamer good luck with this piece, I love it!

  • @Besttamer be patient.

  • @Besttamer try quiet buzzing on the mouthpiece and lots of quiet playing.

You're probably beating up your chops by practicing too much or too loud, too much pressure. Think control while playing soft to focus your aperature and relax them so they can vibrate.

Check out Pops McLaughlin on here and watch his vids

and its really difficult. respect :)

  • @Lachsflosse Thanks!

  • @ElInkieto631 FUNNY AS HELL!!!!!!!! "Am I the only one who realizes this". Yeah! You are! Because you are wrong and you are the only one who thinks I'm not playing in the video. Check the other videos I recorded... have a nice day!

  • @ElInkieto631 lol are you kidding? you're retarded. it is obviously real. you must not be a real musician yourself. what are you on?

  • @ElInkieto631 wat a dumb FUCK u r!!!! hahha douche bag

  • Hi there. I play euphonium. I've had the Arban book for a while now, but I've started get lessons again, so I'm looking at Fantasia Brilliante the now. With a couple more listens to yours and some proper practise I should get it. Thanks for the recording.

  • Very good! You have a good sound but you are very very flat a lot of the time - that's probably what I think you should work most on. But your expression and your tone are very good!

  • sounds like the interpretation of wynton marsalis.. :D

  • Very nice! Great tone, double, triple tounging and phrasing......I wanted to let you know that I also have a few postings here on You-Tube, including my own improvized arraingment of the Arbans #2 Etude, if you are interested. Thanks....JT....

  • Id love to know what your daily practice schedule is like? You sound brilliante!

  • Fantastic.

  • Very good job my friend, I'm working on this piece as well, but i've only got the intro, theme, and 1st variation down.the 2nd and the3rd are giving me fits. lol.

  • I think you are a very good player! How long have you been playing? I start to exercise this now! I have been playing for 9 years now. Think in 2 Months i'll be ready to play it nearly as you do. (It's already been told but I agree that your intonation and timing isn't perfect. But hey, nobody is perfect!

  • @LucernCuber Started in 1987, thanks for the comment! ;-)

  • really good, nice sound!

  • You play very well, your sound is pretty !

i hope that one day i can play that well, hopefully with a lot of practice i can do so.

  • Wow thats really good in my opinon. Very nice job.

  • you're you should be better than him event though you have no proof what so ever and you will never make it in the music world with such a cocky attitude. name one legendary trumpet player that wasnt modest

  • classic. but what does trumpet players being modest have to do with anything O_____o

  • youd have to see the comment i was replying to, to understand what i meant

  • 音程

  • Muito bom mesmo...DEus abençoi vc grandemente...

  • here do you breath in the second variation? With the semi-quavers?

  • non désolé c'est travailler la justesse... la trompette n'est pas si fausse que ca...

  • très beau seulement il faudrait penser à t'acheter une bonne trompette car c'est un clou celle là... elle est fausse à mourir...

  • amazing *****

  • yo im playing this song for my audition for laguardia high school wish me luck! ^0^

  • Great job. Why are you pulling out your 3rd valve slide for a low Eb? If anything that note can be a little flat.

    Awesome stuff though.

  • Reason is Courtois Ev.1 is a strange trumpet, Eb is waaaaay too sharp (as most of the notes that use the first or third valve).

    Thanks!

  • Hi anrapa!

    Good playing!

Where can I get the soundtrack in the backround (what the piano play).

Do you have all soundtracks from the Arban Scool?

    Greez Kentauros 88 :)

  • 10 stars!

  • That was amazing. I'm at a lost for words. Well done.

  • wow even with the bad sound quality, ur tone is amazing

and ur straight triple or double tongue is amazing as well; i have trouble keeping tempo when i do straight double tonging

    very nicely done :D

  • I have play this for my district audition solo. Fantastic by the way.

  • You're alot of help Mr. Trumpet Player. I'm 17 year old trumpet player, and also using your video as a reference to get into honor band.

  • I'm happy I'm of help!

  • Thanks to all of you!

  • Amazing

  • Wasn't that a bright last note! :)

  • Inspiring! Great work, love it, really sounds like music.

  • thanks! great job -been playing a year now and am inspired to keep at it, how wonderful!

  • this deserves so many more views, comments and ratings; simply fantastic.

  • Thank a bunch mate! :)

  • do you double tongue or single tongue in the second variation?

  • Double tongue. Ciao!

  • Smoking...beautiful sound and execution. Bravo.

  • l'hai registrata con smartmusic???

  • No, con Garage Band della Apple.

  • I am playing this for a district band audition. And you offer an amazing reference recording. Thank you so much. And I would also like to thank you for your website with recordings of Arban's work in it - it has proved so valuable to me in working for another audition piece.

And the fact that you offer them for free is just mind boggling. Thank you for using your talent for good.

  • Thank you so much!

It's a GREAT pleasure sharing knowledge with other people, money isn't everything in life. Sometimes knowing someone is happy thanks to something you have done is much more rewarding!

And that "Jizz In My Pants" video is HILARIOUS!!!!

  • wow! Nice tone!

  • Grazie!

  • nice plying, good sound man!

  • Thanks!

  • Hello!

    Nice playing!

I would recommend you to try and fill your trumpet with more air. The cosequence is that your leaps is not always "clean" if you know what I mean. When i encounter problems in my playing, 99% of the time, it's the use of air that cause the problem. Otherwise, very nice. Good technically. Good luck!
