Truly, truly, truly love this movie. Bought 4 DVD's. Just in case something happens to any of them. I guess that alone says how much I love this movie. To me the acting was great. Wish there was a part 2 to this. Plus, the location is fantastic. I WILL get to Vinalhaven. Just love the theme of the story.

I think it's a cool premise for a movie but why does every movie or tv show about Maine need to be about the coast? I grew up in Milo Maine and it took us a couple hours of driving to see the ocean. Why the stereotype of all Mainers living in one big fishing village, not all of us are hicks that shoot each other all day long. I wish I could see a movie or tv show about Maine that is't a stereotype.
finally got to see this film! went to see it in thomaston. the actor (eben) was there. a few parts seemed exagerrated, but only slightly. when they handle the lobstahs they look like noobs x) but now i am nitpickin. overall a good picture of what lobsterin in maine is all about. the culture, history, future, etc. very pleased with how it came out. this all coming from a maine lobsterman.
First rate film showing real lifestyles on a Maine island. Intelligent and very well acted. They kept the language and sex to a minimum - and guess what - it works! Recommend it to anyone and everyone.

I dunno, this seems a little insulting. The actors looked the parts but they couldn't act for nothing.
As a native of Casco Bay, this isn't an accurate portrayal of the island life.
