What a work of Art! I feel this is too underestimated!! Would you mind me asking the name of the very first painting you used for this video? It is simply breath-taking!! Thanks in advance.
The Fairy Queen is a masque or semi-opera by Henry Purcell; a "Restoration spectacular". The libretto is an anonymous adaptation of William Shakespeare's wedding comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream. First performed in 1692, The Fairy-Queen was composed three years before Purcell's death at the age of 35. Following his death, the score was lost and only rediscovered early in the twentieth century.
It seems to me that is English Chamber Orchestra, because I have it with B. Britten a same piece on CD. On my production the year is 1970. Can u tell me the orchestra please?
@Bert3346 Agreed. Handel was certainly, along with Bach, the greatest composer of the Baroque era. But that does not mean they produced their music out of nowhere. Handel did studied several works by Purcell soon after his arrival to England.

Perhaps it should have been added that this is the Overture to the Fourth Act.
Lovely pictures!
