  • mine was overheating frequently, i disassembled it and replaced the heatsink compound runs perfectly again

  • Very useful tips, great work and thanks.

  • cmon im using mac help plox?

  • Dave excelent ideas :) I already did them by my self though ^^ I just wana add to people (If you can comment so other people can see it too) is to put a cooler down from your laptop !OR! If you dont have money buying a cooler etc. You can just put something from it so the MAIN Hole that the air gets out (Up right) will not get covered ... :) It really helped me when i did not had money for a cooler ^^ Of course cooler does the same thing...But it is also makes it more cold ^^

  • Air compressor is not a good idea, only few air will escape. Use vacuum to suck the dust out. Then to prevent future dust built up, put a homemade filter on every vent. I agree with the last tip.

  • Thanks a lot man .

  • what if the laptop doesnt get hot and just turns off

  • @MADagain321 perhabs it ran out of battery power

  • wow u foolll , keep sleeping

  • you can try this all day and you won't get better results, the blow from the can is just going to move the dust but not remove it completely that's if it actually managed to move anything because most cans won't be powerful enough to do so. This is a complete waste of time. because the dust is still trapped inside buddy.

  • hey i need some help, ive had my computer for 4 years, a COMPAQ presario F700, and i play and download mods for minecraft... within a few minutes(20 30) my computer just randomly shuts down. i usually feel the back of my computer and ive gotten severly burned from the back of it. it gets really REALLY hot and my mother(owner of the laptop) says this wont work even though i havnt tried it. also, when i turn the computer back on afterwards it makes a really loud buzzing sound and it vibrates. help

  • @Baxten123 Hey check if your fan is still working, if it's making a lot of noise it means there's a lot of dust INSIDE your laptop (and by that it's really gotten into it). If that's your problem, the easiest way is to go to a computer store and ask if they can clean your laptop.

If that's not the problem, it may be your fan. Then go to your computerstore and see what they can do.

  • @TheFPShut hahaha yeah!!!

  • This is an easy temporary solution if you don't want to spend 100euros for repairer. It works

  • if its overheating.. put your laptop in the icy water.. :DD

  • MY NAMES DAVE ANDREWS AND I'VE JUST SHOWED YOU HOW TO KEEP YOUR LAPTOP FROM OVERHEATING

  • It's also possible to get a cooling pad. The simplest ones cost about eight to ten dollars and consist of a plastic shell covered in a layer of breathable foam and mesh netting. Higher-end ones will have cooling fans built into the pad itself and go for about 30 dollars on average

  • @trampolinegods4life Don't judge people by their looks. People might think you look strange.

  • unbelievable, the dumbest comment of this how to video is the highest rated comment. SMH

  • He is using an HEWLET PACKARD PAVILION laptop. That's the reason he needed to put this video on youtube. HP laptops are rubbish and pavilion series is more than rubbish.

  • @trampolinegods4life i swear, bedfore i saw your comment and as soon as i saw this dudes face, i was thinking the same exact thing.

  • my laptop overheated and shut down, i turned it back on instantly and the fan stopped working. My laptop now overheats/shuts down after 10 minutes of turning it on. Can my fan be fixed manually or will i have to take it to a professional?

  • @Dec2012omg If its in your warranty then professional, Just safe yourself the pressure and take it to the professional. It may be fan failure.

  • lol i have the same computer this guy has

  • @HOP3karma me too.

  • @HOP3karma I do too lol

  • This is B.S Laptops always overheat....Never buy laptop for gaming...If you wanna game Build Your Own Desktop...And never warry about overheating...

  • @ArmenianMafioz909 umm.... my laptop never has any over heating problems sometimes i game for like 4-5 hours. and will leave it runnin over night sometimes and come back... no heat on the palmrests, keys, or bottom. alienware m15x. ya boy. built for gaming.

  • @ArmenianMafioz909 No. Office laptops overheat. Gaming laptops never overheat. Reconsider what you're saying.

  • My laotop is real old and when i first got it (used) it kept overheating and shutting down, i Mde a cooling pad and it didnt help much, it was running at95.5°c alot of the time. I removed the cover near the fan and found a heatsink held down by 4 screws, i removed that and found a plug of lint packed as hard as felt, pulled that out put it back together (A drop of thermal grease) and now it run around 47.5°c and 51.5 °c at the most. Compressed air would have never got the lint out. check it.

  • lol i just blowed that spot u mentioned lol its ful od dust "cough..."

lol thats an easy solosion ty dude

  • Hard paper leg extensions. They work like a dream.

  • OMG!!!!That looks exactly like lap top.....

really all the fans and stuff...

and even the key board and all the buttons!!!:)

  • lol. best take out the shell and then use the blower.... =.=

  • 0:01

  • the are where the fan should be is hotter than fire

  • My laptop is ~40C idling, but ~70 when doing something :s I think this may damages it in the long run

  • My laptop shuts down automatically And i Really need some solutions to fix it

  • @MrBammy1

    find your hardisk,wipe it clean.

Use compressed air and spray the vents.

Buy a cooling pad (search on ebay or go to any hardware store and ask)

put and external fan if you have one near your laptop.

  • Here a easier trick: put 2 small books under your laptop on the back (in the middle), if you can fit 4 finger under the laptop (where the fan is), you're good, easy like that.

  • Long story short unscrew your laptop from the bottom. Get a air compressor or that compressed air in a can. Blow the build in fan if its has a lot of dust this will allow it to move now. This only works when you laptop keep turning itself off. Same for Desktops. Also if you want to avoid it from overheating all the time put something underneath that'll allow air to flow out.

  • It's a laptop HP pavillion dv 6000

  • Hi, Everything is still working on my computer but I can't see nothing ( Black screen or like a gray screen) What can I do? How to fix my black screen? I tried differents ways that people said on youtube but nothing yet..Tks for your videos they are really good!

  • @TheCristmusic ive got the same problem when i play games

  • is that an Acer laptop?

  • @patton446 no he has an hp

  • @patton446 no its an HP laptop (HP dv2000 i think)

  • Thanks i was needing to find out why my laptop overheated so quickly i will try all of this.

  • Ah thanks Dave. Your voice is so peaceful and soothing. I live in Florida and my laptops keep overheating. Those cans don't do anything for me. I usually take mine to Best Buy and let them blow them out.

  • wont blowing air into the vent blow the dust back into the laptop?

  • my laptop overheats all time on flat surface but i done something so easy i put a dvd case in middle of laptop to raise nvr heats up now

  • Thanks for basically telling us common sense!

  • Dude, your videos are very informational. THANKS!

  • Hahaha where I live, compressed air cans cost 50 bucks... @.@ I know its dusty and thats why my HP Pavilion laptop keeps dying...

My GPU has a fan, but it seems my CPU doesn't have one. This is why my machine dies.. Everyone, make sure to buy a laptop with sufficient fans and vents!

    Quiet isn't always good!

  • guys if your having overheating problems espicailly in the summer now. make sure that your room or where ever is cool like have an a.c turned on. the cooler the room the cooler your laptop can get. turn down your brightness it also helps. the brightness from your laptop also produce heat. when your laptop is plugged in with the charger and battery is fully charged. take out the battery but leave it plugged. battery also produce heat when not charging.

  • my laptop overheats more than 10 times a day

  • Fix isn't the word - you 'fixed' nothing and this was almost a total waste.

  • couldnt u just blow into the vint with ur mouth?

  • @lemler33 no because what the condessed air does is like freezing cold liquid when it comes out. which makes it better for the fan. like it cools it. its a wise choice to use this. i also recommend getting a laptop usb fan. get one of those it helps reduce the heat. also the time where he mentioned dont put a lot because it will freeze up the hardware inside. it will cost damage. get a condessed air can and a laptop cooling fan. you can get cheap ones. laptops overheats more in the summer.

  • How to REPAIR YOUR LAPTOP yourself – VIDEOS (erase blank space): 4a764vylxsdtut4ghhvj4dsm5p. hop. clickbank. net/

  • nice

  • omg my laptop is 96c while gaming, and 48-65 when its idle?

  • @bichoraro91 its probly hair and dust thats making it stick, see if there is any way to open your laptop up, it will void the warrenty but if your carefull you should be able to get to the fan and free up all the gunk

  • can i put the straw inside the vent and spray or is that dangerous?

  • @josh333rus its not dangerous but its possible that you will damage any hardware in there. i used compressed air cans before the can itself is pretty icy cold when you start spraying. dont spray alot though.

  • is it good temperature 68 ? coz i have overcloaked my graphics card to max!

  • my comp turns itself off when it over heats..

  • @ShadowedSoldiers I have been to the computer shop 3 times about it. They refuse to admit there is something wrong with it and I had to pay their $80 fee each time because nothing was "wrong". I've given up having it "fixed" even though there is ample information on the internet with these computers overheating. :(

  • Mine PC doesn't overheat

I have it for 5 years and it works fine

But my laptop overheats alot times

    OMG

    lol

  • My Acer Aspire 7720 overheats all the time when i'm watching flash videos. It will even shut itself off. Just watching this 2 minute video it raised 12 degrees. And it's still climbing as I type this message. I've tried blowing compressed air into the fans and vents but that does absolutely nothing to help my laptop. I'm giving up. I"m going to scrap this laptop and buy a Dell. I've still got a really old Dell that works perfectly even after nearly 6 years of heavy use.

  • @xdunlapx sounds like your fan isnt working at all

  • @BIGstorms999 yh l0l

  • My Laptop Acer aspire 5930G turns off automathic when it gets overheated and i can feel the keyboard on it its so hot but when it gets overheated couldn't i just wait to its cool?

pls reply and sry for bad english

  • Nooooooooooo. Spraying air at the fan will make it spin, creating a dynamo effect, killing your motherboard!

BTW, has anyone ever told you that you sound like Cleveland off Family Guy? Just a thought.

  • Why are you smirking troughout the whole movie?

  • whats funny is that i have that laptop. makes this much easier to follow..

  • lol i leave my laptop on all night to the next day and it never overheats

  • thanks, this really helps.. I use to keep my laptop on top of a table cloth and that was the problemo!

  • i can do anything but play world of warcraft my fan doesnt do anything :( ima buy a cooling pad

  • Same to me but yesterday it happened so stay frosty boi

  • @Maximalnoob Same here Acer apire 8930, Over heating, i can feel the left side of my Keyboard getting really hot

  • can i use a vacuum cleaner instead?

  • LOL xD

  • I'm about 100% sure its the dust build up because my room has been re-done and there is a ton of dust and i think that is the reason.....now i need compressed air. -_-

  • @CrazyQUINN84 use a hoover

  • lol my laptop overheats every 10min now wtf..?

  • thanks!

  • i did the same, but i did use a vacuum cleaner instead of compressed air

  • LOL i did that i used my vaccum cleaner to suck all the dust out but doesnt really seem to work :(

  • i dont think so. i just asked computer repairman today n he said that that is one of the ways to do it. but i'll open up the case first and clean up inside.

  • oh ok, it just doesn't make sense to me how that works lol.

  • my lappy easily overheat to 70-100.what spray does he use? i really need to clean up that area bcoz i cant hear the fan.

  • thanks Dave Andrews!

  • Hi there, thanks for the video clip. I tried to spray my laptop with air and is still overheating. Do you have any other suggestions to fix the overheating?

  • wow my laptop runs on 90 degrees (not Fahrenheit) on the inside and 45 degrees on the outside (not Fahrenheit) :S
