Thank you very much! I'm using a Boss - ME-50 for my pedals. In the first part, some delay and overdrive. The second part is clean with some basic delay, all from the Boss -ME-50. The amp is a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. Thanks again, Peace, Don~
Hi! I'm about to order a Bluesboy but I can't decide if I want the solid body model or the semi hollow without the f-hole. My main concern is that the semi hollow will be neck heavy or not as well balanced when standing up. What are your experience? Unfortunately I can't try one out before I decide because there are no G&L's around where I live. I really like the tone from both models though, and I like light guitars but not to light and it needs to be well balanced. Great playing by the way!!
I’ve owned both models, semi and solid. I’ll say they both were not at all top heavy. They all felt wonderful and extremely balanced. If I may add, please make sure, when inquiring about any G&L; ask what the exact neck profile is. Most G&L’s do not feel the same, mainly because the proprietor ordering them creates their own vision. This is one of the main reasons I’ve had to unfortunately sell off most of my G&L collection. Hope this helps, Thank You, Peace, Don~
Unfortunately I don’t own the guitar anymore. Had to sell it because this particular guitar neck profile was a bit large for me. I miss it terribly! To answer your awesome question, not a problem whatsoever with loud volumes or overdrive settings. The G&L Bluesboy SH handles all of these issues with ease my friend. Thanks for commenting, Peace, Don~
In my opinion, both guitars are very good for funk; Im a big Fender guitar fan. I personally think though, the G&L ASAT Bluesboy is a bit more versatile, and the pups are hotter.
Thank you, I think its an Ash body; the look of the wood is totally reminiscent of most Ash patterns. I bought the guitar at Guitar Adoptions, and I will certainly ask Dave, the proprietor of the business. Peace, Don~
Great playing! Can you tell me about Band In a Box? Which version would you recommend? I'm more interested in basic features rather than some of the full blown pkgs with tons of options. Your thoughts?
Thanks for the kind words; unfortunately, Im very old school when it comes to music software. I record with an 8 track Boss digital portostudio. I read up on BITB & Magix software but still was a bit intimidated. Eventually, we both should get in the game and start using the PC or Mac for recording, my only issue; I hardly have enough time to play never mind learning about software. Play & Record is about all I know. :0)
Thank you so much for the very kind words! Thats a great question but for me; difficult to answer because there are amazing qualities about both guitars I love. If I had to go to battle with one guitar, it would probably be the Legacy Special. If you really want a guitar that can do pretty much anything, please check into that model. Hope this helps my friend!
Nice playing, i was looking at one of these at a very good price as an alternative to a good quality tele, does it have the tele type feel, that larger than tele headstock would make it more strat like I would imagine, what do you think ??,
Thank you for watching and commenting. That's a great question; since I have only played a Bluesboy Semi-H with the F-hole, I'm not completely sure. However, the thing I hear about most with the Bluesboy Semi-H without the F-hole is that there is less feedback at high volumes. Again, I'm not 100% sure; I will certainly try and get back to you with a definitive answer my friend. I'm checking out the G&L Forum site which is awesome.
awesome - what pedals , settings do you use to get this killer tone ?

Hi Don. How does your guitar react to high gain / loud volume settings? Does it feedback too much?
Cool tune BTW

I wish I did, Don. I checked out the link to the G&L dealer, I think I'm going to order a Bluesboy. They sound unreal!

Excellent tone, sir. Is that an ash or an alder body? It sounds like alder, just wanted to check.

I'm not too sure my friend, you might want to check G&L's web site. They just might sell it as an acessory!

Hello,
Nice playing. Is the semi-hollow w/o the f hole a better sounding bluesboy than the solid body BB and the BB with the f hole? If so, how? Thanks.
