that is tru about th number four in japan. however, it depends on the kanji used. example SHI - similar to SHINDA = death. YON also means 4. (shi kanji not used) aight?

I hate to see the D800 making the jump all the way to 24mp if it interferes with the high ISO performance. I'd much rather see a boost in dynamic range and ISO and a more modest bump to 18MP. And, you can keep the video abilities, thank you....

Nikonrumors were out with the Aug. 24th date before Thom, but they put down the D300s rep. as a sure thing. Furthermore, they only credit Thoms rumor with a 60% likelyhood. Personally I'll be really disappointed if Thom's right. I'm really anticipating the D400 (His D7000 success argument makes some kind of sense though).

I was getting worried that Nikon where going to release the D400 instead of the D800 due to Sony's A77 release. I am hoping the video quality is much better than anything Nikon currently do, with a better codec. My question is, is it worth going for the full frame D800 if the D400 is going to have the photo binning and better ISO? I would hope to see a real improvement in the ISO quality of the D800 beyond that of the D700, considering the advances in tech since the D700s release in 2008.

@bpaynegoodphotos That's hard to say-this is a new model, and the D3S was a fine-tuning of the D3. I would assume that they might bring out a more fine-tuned model, but they are going to take a page of the D3S's book for the D4 itself, so hard to know if there will be or not.
