  • Very cool!

  • Not cool of you not posting the guys name! Does he not want credit for this?

  • WOW.

  • where I can get this music free please tell me

  • Woah. That's really amazing!

  • 0:18

    YEAH........

  • only 2 dislikes and for good reason!

  • first xylo solo on here any good at all.

  • I always thought the xylophone was a bit of a joke, but this guy is incredible, respect.

  • truly i say, man does not live by polka music alone. lol great clip, great performance. thanks for posting this.

  • Is that part of Rainbow Ripples I hear?

  • @MrMan012345

me too, and im also a programmer and a very good video/picture editor, and i agree with you. the amount of work needed to actually make this fake would require enough energy that would match the effort of just learning this on the xylophone through hard work. plus you can tell the guy filmin this is in the crowd, the cam is zooming in and out, and moving left and right. anyone who thinks this is fake is retarded.

  • why the fuck does cat vs xylophone have more views than this

    wtf this is incredible

  • this is genius. im a xylophonist and i wish i was this good.

  • I'm playing xylophone next year for high school and you are such an inspiration!

  • Lol. Cool.

  • I almost can't believe this is a high school kid. But then again, I knew a guy who could have played this from my high school, so I'm one to talk.

This is AMAZING, I wish it were a better quality recording. I may get this music for my own use, since I have college tryouts next year.

  • cool!

  • You can get the music at Sheet Music Plus . com. Just search 'Golden Age of the Xylophone'.

  • man you have to send me the music !!=) i cant find the notes

pls man copie and upload them in your profile ===)

best xylophone video ive ever watched!

  • i want to learn this, but cant find any music just for xylophone and piano accompaniment. where did you get your music? appreiciate a reply, thanks

  • these are secondary school children?

  • anyone know what this peice is called?

  • BRAVO!!!

    SIMPLY BRAVO!!!

  • wtf=)

best piece if ever heard! nice work

  • that was absolutely amazing! I need help with some xylophone questions!!!!! My friends and i are raising money to buy a xylophone for our music room at school. Any suggestions as to what type of xylophone we should start off by getting? What type is this?

  • the person who wrote this is my band conductor at school

  • I watched this video a while ago, and inspired me to use it for a radio taping. Even though I can spot mistakes, I can say that this piece, of all the pieces I've played, is the easiest to make mistakes. Thanks for posting.

  • Phew - That blew my socks off . Magnificent

  • Wow, what a skills! I regocnised "Rainbow Ripples" somewhere in the middle.

  • Hva faen Sivert?

  • Han suger da ( til og med du spiller bedre enn hann)

  • he cant be in highschool?!!

my old percussion instructor performed this piece a few years ago

  • he's probably an instructor. Sometimes they look that young.

  • it would be even better is he was playing with 4 mallets (2 mallets in each hand)..

  • The song didnt require four mallets though. He didnt play any four note chords.

  • why?

  • not exactly, where four mallets is more technical it really wouldn't make this better. Two mallet and four mallet are completely different. Playing four mallet doesn't exactly make you better

  • is this the palo alto high school in the san francisco bay area?

  • HELLA GOOD. GODLY!!!

  • Jesus, this makes me want to take xylophone back up. This is the most fucking insane playing I have ever seen. I could only HOPE to play like that! Awesome, awesome awesome!

  • lol yay good playing

  • whats the name of this song?

  • Seems to be a medley of ragtime-era tunes. I recognise "Down among the sheltering palms" "Shine on harvest moon" "Bill Bailey" & "12th Street Rag".The others I can't put a title to. He has an awsome technique. Terrific sense of syncopattion reminiscent of Teddy Brown. Who is he? Does he still play?

  • Absolutely bloody fantastic

  • THIS IS WUNDERBARRRR

  • Jesus, why can people not be happy for his achievement?!

    This is amazing!

  • what is the name of the xylophone player?

  • that sickest stuff i see

  • if only i were you, i could never be sad...

and it would have been even more phenomenal had the crowd been able to clap at tempo, thus not screwing you up near the end.

  • I have almost learned the hole shit now.

And it looks pretty low for him!

  • I totally agree. You sould listen to Patrick Moore. Amazeing.

  • out of curiosity what type of mallets do he use?

  • i think those r acrylic or however you spell it haha im not sure though

  • btw do u have back problems?

  • the instrument is too low for him

  • that's what I thought, but I don't play.

  • seriously!

i probably look handicapped compared to this

  • This is great! When I saw this video, I was just thinking "I'm gonna learn that!" So now I have learned the first side...

  • definitely the best person to play it on youtube!

  • bravoo :)

  • nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it

  • Wow, very nice! Haha, that's so weird... I live near Palo Alto High School. :)

  • loll thats not fake it clearly possible

  • i think maybe some people are confusing this for fake because it's oh so slightly out of sync? you can tell he messed up in some places quite clearly, so unless the guy who played the recording screwed up and they didn't have time to try again, i think it's real. very good performance :)

  • @Artieful I agree completely, and I bet about 60%-95% of the people labeling it "fake"

can't even get close to how he played it.

  • then why don't you make a video of this?

  • Ey, i'm a xylophone player to, this is to awesome! I like up to you 2, dude XD

  • for everyone whos saying it fake how cant like fake a performance in a high school ceromany and if he did fake it then whoa he is a amazing faker XD

  • bravo!好鬼劲啊。

  • haha if I had faked it, I would have made sure not to screw up so many times ;)

  • @legolalol you're an idiot

  • @legolalol It's not fake. The video is just slightly out of sync.

  • @legolalol it just looks fake 'cuz somethimes bad cameras or the youtube delays the audio wave and i dont think a guy with hands this fast needs playback

  • seriously, how is that fake, my wind ensemble has someone playing this and he's better than this guy(no offense but he is) but how can you fake this?

  • you sir are quite frankly a complete twat if you think it's fake! what's your reason for thinking that, probably just because you cant do it yourself.

  • good :)

  • I think I heard a peice that I'm learning called Rainbow Ripples in there.

  • yeah this piece incorporates a few different rag pieces into it.

  • dude u r feakin amazing

  • This guy came to our campus of UW-Eau Claire and showed all of us percussion majors how he could really play this thing! I loved it! Glad I stumbled upon this! It's how I got into liking the ragtime style.

  • that was amazing!! I'm working on this piece right now, and this'll definitely help me figure out how it's supposed to sound in places. Great job!

  • impresssive, a budding bob becker. No fear, i like that. Sweet arrangment too, is that your arrangment ot who's?

  • Proof that the xylophone is much more than a kerplink-y plunk accent instrument. Thanks!

  • Excellent playing! Love it!

  • wow, great performance! Right when the rolls were starting to get old at the end(no offense to the player, mind you!) that fantastic ending came along. terrific!

  • Man can this guy PLAY! 5 stars from Greenland

  • kewlness!!!

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

    GOOD JOB!

  • Just awesome.

  • Great job.

  • Cool. Was this at a rally or something? The Crowd is like "wow" and "yeah"...good job!

  • it was at like, a ceremony they have for the graduating class every year. there were about a half dozen performances and a guest speaker

  • Good Job! :)

  • Phenomenal.

  • Yay Patrick! This was amazing!
