  • This ad is creative, but it's still sexist. Once we realise that it's playing on misogynist sensibilities then it's palatable. But if everyone who's cheering it on fails to recognise the latent degradation going on here, that's pretty sad.

The idealist in me wants to think its makers were conveying some (subtle) irony but it's more likely they were just appealing to guys and their penises. Sigh.

  • hahahaha youre so right.. but dude im STILL laughing cuz its so brilliant!

I never saw such a commercial.. its really a 'wrong' kinda clip but still hella original/funny and effective. Props voor de marketing/makers ouwe!

  • Guiness in adverts appealing to their audiences shocker.

And why did you say that once we realise that it's playing on woman-hating feelings and emotions then it's acceptable? Top marks for trying out the long words, but not everyone on the internet is 12.

Anyway, I'm just being pedantic. Great ad!

  • I mean that when something is self-consciously ironic or humourous we cannot critique it in the same way as we would if it were sincere because it can be parodying the real phenomonon ("playing on misogynist sensibilities"). As a woman I watch this ad and feel disgust; I watch it objectively and wonder if it's a spoof of sex, or whether it's appealing to base instincts.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Top marks for trying out the long words, but not everyone on the internet is 12." Explain?

  • No. Sorry; I was drunk with the whole of the internet in front of me.

I think I was questioning your choice of words that seemed to be entirely contradictory to your basic message.

I was also a bit annoyed that someone cared about a bit of humour on the internet enough to complain, but then I cared enough to have a go at you, so I've sent myself down paradox avenue, I'm afraid.

  • this is great XD

  • nice

  • oh god...its semi funny but this type of thing is getting old...for the women at least

  • Awesome!

  • just brilliant!!!, hahahahahaha XD, i want to try it!!!

  • I personally prefer whores than fucked feminists

  • relax Francis...it's a fucking joke...you know a funny...a haha.

  • How do I find the music from this video? I want that to be my fucking ring tone. This commercial is awesome.

  • lol, that's awesome!

  • the commercial is not real.

  • hahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahaha

  • hahahahhahahhahaha

  • The ad is awesome in that it's so provocative. It would up the sale of Guinness considerably. Women aren't their target market, horny dudes are, and they would never forget this commercial. Too bad for Guinness that they didn't think of it themselves.

  • STFU nab

  • this video could also be seen as a woman taking advantage of three guys as her sexual release. she subjects these men to commit semi homosexual acts just for her pleasure. or the bottle of beer is forced to take part in such undertakings by these individuals.

  • Oh jesus, shut your face.

You people look into things too much.

  • Google the ad. It's fake. Guiness never used this commercial, and the director had no intention of actually pitching it to them.

  • phew

  • i have a penis, therefore i am always right

  • what about that testicle on the left

  • Hahaha love it

  • how did they think they were getting away with that, but its amazing none the less

  • pretty sexist.

  • How is it sexist? The woman certainly didn't appear to be getting raped, so she was there of her own free will.

Maybe you're just assuming the poor little woman can't make her own decisions regaurding sex. Oh wait, that would be sexist.

  • It still stands that the woman in the advertisement CHOSE to be there. She was probably well paid for it. Companies have known for years that sex sells, and if a woman chooses to be in such an ad, that's her choice.

The overtone of your comment tells me that you think any woman having sex is instantly being objectified, which is not so. She's just a person having sex, same as the three males in this ad. To claim that this ad is sexist is to say that women are somehow victimized during sex.

  • Actually, the objectification occurs when the nude woman is used as a table for the beer. Yes, the individual in the ad chose to do it; women also judge other women for not working outside the home, or for not wearing heels. Just because this woman chose to be in this ad, does not mean that other women should accept the message that this ad sends.

  • I don't think women are victimized during consensual sex; women are sexual beings, as are men. Speaking as a woman, I enjoy sex--big duh. But when sex, in combination with the objectification of an individual, is commodified, yes, I have a problem with that. And not only am I allowed to voice my opinion, but my self-respect necessitates it. So I can still state that this AD is sexist while acknowledging and celebrating the fact that consensual, healthy sex is liberation, not victimization.

  • When did women shed their status as objects?

  • Sexism: is a belief or attitude that one gender or sex is inferior to or less valuable than the other

i don't see that in this commercial

  • Sexism: is a belief or attitude that one gender or sex is inferior to or less valuable than the other

i dont see sexism goin on in this commercial...

  • i know when did that change?

  • Guinness and a woman. Share one.

    And.....dont cross the streams.

  • looooooooooooooool.

i liked the 3 guy XD.

how convenient that is . the girl has 4 uses XD
