@obatore – I’ll need your dryer’s model number so I can look into if your dryer should have two or four wires and get this solved. If you need help locating your dryer’s model number then please let us know. I’ll also email you this information.
I have a similar whirlpool, but mine has four wires. Two wires to heating element and two going to the thermostat. Is this correct or has it been modified? Do I still need a wire going from thermostat to heating element? The thermo fuse has been bypassed by previous owner and I'm trying to fix that. I feel something is not correct. Thanks for the video and any help you can give me!
This video was very helpful - I have a Kenmore Model 70 that matches this whirlpool model exactly. Replacement went easy and my dryer is working again! Praise the Lord! Thank you!
When changing the top component I have to reconnect the two red wires because the previous owner had them shorted together (with lots of wire exposed). Can I just crimp those wires with a square insulated female disconnect (i.e. like the rest of the wires have later in the video) and connect them to the thermostat, or should I get plastic connectors like you show in the video?
Thanks so much for responding fast ,as I was taking the dryer apart and noticed that the lint duct was clogged ,so I cleaned it out and it now works perfectly, love your videos they realy help out :)
@nomorev6 - We have a video posted called "Troubleshooting A Dryer That Won't Heat." That should help you diagnose your dryer heating issue. I will send direct message you the link to the video (can't post it on here). Please let us know if you have any additional questions or if you need more information. Thanks!
steve i dont like your uniform and please shave next time besides that good video ,question do fuses need to give a specific number when checking for continuaty?
@jacoblmattson You're very welcome for the video assistance and thank YOU very much for the positive feedback. We put a lot of time into making sure our videos are as helpful as possible, so it's great to hear that our efforts are paying off. Good luck with any future repairs!

Thanks for the great video! I bought the parts but had no idea what to do with the small wire! None of the other videos on YouTube were of any help.
Thank you so much.

Thank you. It is so nice to see a real person doing the repair and not an actor.
