Actually, it is. From 1998.

During our recording sessions, Paula Crider thought it would be fun to have us sing Eyes in addition to playing it. Not sure if it's still a tradition, but all Kappa Kappa Psi members had to be able to sing Eyes in 4-part harmony as part of their pledge process. So, the KKPsi guys split our parts, while most of the band either sung their part or the melody.

Very fond memories, indeed.

My son is extremely interested in going to UT and wants to be in the band. With you being a former member, I wanted to ask how difficult it is to get into UT and second, is it difficult to get accepted in the band.

I honestly can't speak to the admission standards for UT these days.

As for LHB, the sheer size of the group helps. I believe we were around 360 members when I was in band, and about half of those were freshmen. Different instruments take different numbers, so if he plays trumpet, there are more spots than say, bass drum.

LHB gives him an immediate advantage. Having 300+ friends before his first semester even starts is HUGE!
