  • HAH I love that Ratt is playing at one point. I'm so jealous of your setup. I don't have much room where I'm living, I wish they could have their own area though. Very nice.

  • i have two pet rats and one had tumor and had to get surgrey. She is fine now.I am a big fan of you rat videos

  • its a nice room for the rats

what have the rat on the back in 4:46

i love youre rats al so cute

  • It's rattie wonderland! Nice!

  • how tall is this cage? Just Wondering because my family would like to make one for my ratties. (: Thanks!

  • Hey, Jorats.

I'm getting 2 Rats this weekend. You seem like a rat EXPERT(:

so I was wondering if you could give me any tips? That would be great :D

    -Noeezyfluff :P

  • @noeezyfluff the best tip I can give you is to register on a forum and read read read. With forums, you can try different things and learn as you go.

  • @jorats Thankss :DD I'll do that !

  • hi

  • I have never known anyone love or look after them so well as you do AMAZING

  • @lionmanlover Davis is still with me. He's now 38 months old. :)

  • What is the song at 3:35?

  • @77wagz77 Evanescence - Numb

  • @77wagz77 Actually it's called Bring Me To Life - Evanescense

  • Where did you buy all of this stuff? what was the shop called and was it an online shop? i really want some of this stuff. :D

  • Lol I keep nagging my Mum to let me get a bigger cage and all sorts of stuff like this for my three.. maybe I would need more rats to fill it out. :P

  • Lol ive watched these absolutly adorable videos i dunno how many times.. i can name all of your rats.. DAVIS is absolutly georgous..! they are all beautifuL!

  • can a rat fit through a tube that is about 1 and 1/4 or maybe 1 and 1/2 an inch in diameter??

  • Rats outgrow hamster tubes much too fast.

  • @jorats i would just like to point out that the background music is awesome lol

  • @moranclan556 Depends on the size of the rat maybes. Wild rats can fit through any gap they can get their head into, put if it's just for play and it's a struggle for your rats, it's probably not suitable.

  • how often do they die?

  • They only die once...lol But the average lifespan is 24 to 36 months. I've had a few reach 40+ months.

  • HAHAH they only die once

  • tanks and 1 more question lol i was thinking how many rats i should buy 1,2,or 3. i know they get lonely and stuff. if i get 1,2,or3, what cage size should i get????

  • 3 is a good number... but you would need a good size cage: 30" x 18" x 32" high or bigger.

Martin's cage online make great rat cages, the R695 is a favorite.

  • ok thanks ur a very big help

  • I watched your vidioes

  • hi jorats its me again casey1001000 today im makeing a video of my budgies they are really shy of me so I will video tape them from a distance. ps i wish i could get rats like you!!!!!!

  • hi jorats please watch my video me and my dog all you have to do is type casey1001000 ps i love your rats they are sooooooooooo cute

  • Comment removed

  • I love your rats, they looks so cute! :)

and i love it how they can wonder around your room :)

    one question about that though,

is it carpet on the ground or are they tiles?

    (Cant see well LOL)

and do they pee and poop on the ground alot?

  • I ripped up all the carpeting in my home and put down tiles... much easier to clean up daily. ;)

  • oh hahah cool :D

i started to free range my rats and he always goes to a certain cardboard box house to do his poops and wee's :D

  • great song and i luv ur rats and ur vids :)

  • are those cages where they sleep....if so, is it annoying cleaning out because there is no saw dust or litter?

i know its probably a pretty silly question :)

  • The rats live in the cages but get daily out time up to 3 hours. It's not hard to clean. I do daily wipe ups, takes about 10 minutes a day and then a big cage scrub down once a week, takes about 2 hours.

  • wow...they must love living with you...and how many rats to a cage?

  • I can't quite remember how many rats I had to a cage back then. ;)

  • i need rat advice... how long sould it be put for and whats the best food.

  • Rats should have a top quality rat block. Oxbow Regal Rat and Harlan Teklad make the bets rat food. They should be free fed the blocks and given fresh veggies daily.

  • do u leave ur cag open

  • Only during out time.

  • Nice! How many cages do you have? :P When I cleaned the new rat cage, I will make a video :D

Oyeah, Do you make the hammocks by your self? Caus when I saw your video's, I made hammocks for my rat's :D You inspired me! ^^

    Greats from the Netherlands!

  • I've got two cages and my sister makes all most of my hammocks. I can't sew. :(

  • I can't either :'(

    Only the easy type

    OH SUCH A COOL CAGE

  • Wouw, I think you're a wonderfull purson! I hate people who have little cages like crittertrail! But you have amazing cages! :D I have a 'Savic Royal Suite 95 Double' :D That's a Ferret nation but its also good for little rat's :) You're inspire me with you're crazy decorating in the cages :P Good luck whit all! :D

Oyeah, I'm Dutch so my Englisch isn't that good ;)

  • You've got lucky ratties too! I just bought my first Critter Nation, it's just like the FN but with smaller bar spacing. That's cause I just picked up 6 tiny wee little babies on the weekend. :D

  • your cage is amazing! i wish my cage was like that but its only a 3 level white cage:( i need some toys for my ratties but what is a good rattie toy ( evry toy i have tried they either shreded or left alone)

  • Rats like simply stuff like napkins, toilet paper rolls, kleenex boxes, ropes, cat balls... they love tunnels and caves too.

  • Hi, just wondering what you used for the play area fencing? thanks :)

  • I use coroplast, it's a corogated plastic usually used for signs. They come in sheets of 8' x 4'.

  • Great, cheers!

  • So why is the other FN in Lockdown? Is it the Female(or Male) Cage or something?

  • I had not introduced both colonies yet. The other FN has younger rats which later were integrated with the other rats and both would come out together in out time, which you can see in my more recent videos.

  • Gotcha...

  • I have my own rat maxxie right now and are getting some more as his lady is pregnant lol. i know a lot of rats are lookin for homes at the moment, thats why i made sure there would be no homeless rat babies to be born before we bred them. we are taking full responsibility for them (:

    thanks for your inspiration

    x

  • wow. Americans really do like their stuff big lol. the word "big" an understatement, in england they dont sell big cages like that here:( so im going to build one hopefully :D. i think what your doing and everything is great, seen a few of your other videos and i can tell you really are devoted to these rats. I'm only 15 and I'd like to think i could rescue rats like that when im older.

  • Jorats is Canadian, not American, haha xD But you know, I do believe you can order Ferret Nation cages online, I'm sure that for a small fee they wouldn't mind shipping long-distance :D

  • okay thanks x]

and i'm crap at geography Canadian and American accents sound the same to me lol

do you know where i could find these cages online? and what sort of price they might cost? x

  • Oh! And definitely check Craigslist. I have a friend who found a $200(£140approx) cage for $20(£14approx)!

  • it looks great, i started a few weeks ago with 1 rat after several years. I do like rats a lot but i do hope it doesn't get so much i have to count everytime if i have al of them with me lol.

  • i cant believe that people think that rats are just pests when they are soooo awsome!

  • so many rats :P

  • and also, can your rats get from one cage to the other? i saw you had two big cages side by side.

  • In that pic, I had the two cages opened up, removed the side panels so to make it one big cage.

  • jorats i noticed that the trays on the floors of your cages are really shallow and have no bedding. is that ok, because i didn't know if rats liked bedding to make nests and stuff. the bedding would be kicked out in those shallow trays so is that why you don't have bedding? by the way, i'm thinking about getting that cage that you have. could you tell me what you think of it? (quality, cleaning, etc.) thx :)

  • I don't use any bedding in my cages. I like fleece, it's easy to clean and take care of. Ferret Nations are really good cage and easy to clean. Now they have the Critter Nation which is absolutely perfect for rats. The bars on the FN is wide so small rats can squeeze through.

  • Whats an estimate of how many rats you have?

  • i kind of want to be one of those rats now. looks fun, nice set up :)

  • wow, cool, I have 2 rats and I love them. I feed them rice once in a while. Is that okay?

  • If it's brown rice... sure.

  • what about white?

  • White is not good, not even for humans.

  • do you mean not good as in unhealthy or not goods as in has no nutrition?

  • It hold no nutrients, it's been bleached out. Remember, rats have very tiny stomachs so each time you feed them, it should always be healthy foods.

  • yeah, thats why i try not to feed them corn that much.

  • and if it is should i just buy one more female and put them all together? will they fight more? or will they become better as 3 then 2

  • you are wonderful! i love your videos. i got a new baby rat and put in with my big one about a week ago and they fight but the little one starts it, what does this mean? and i want to get a boy but keep them seperate. is this a bad idea?

  • awesome, ferret nation cages~?

  • It looks like this setup is in your kitchen, what kind of divider is that you're using to keep them in one area?

  • They live in my dining room now the rat room. But I use sheets of coroplast, cut to size and ziptied together. Coroplast is a think corogated plastic used to make signs.

  • ohhh wow!!! i have 2 rats and one poohs every where! that other one is better with people who could i get my other one more soical

  • is there pooh every where?????

  • Nope, my ratties only go in the cage.

  • if you ever get rats in the future, and you don;t want them to pooh/pee you should potty train them when they are tiny.

  • your rats are a real credit to you! there alls o healthy and active!!

    great set up.

    x

  • My fav rat is the white one with a black stripe down it's back! Whats his or hers name?

  • That must be Davis.

  • It must take forever to clean up all that poo!!

  • oh my God you're such an amazing person to bring in all these rats. I love rats and when I get older i want to have as many as I can care for. They really are amazing creatures. Right now I have only one of my own, she was the only hairless rat left at the pet store and I just had to get her, she looked so alone. Now shes the sweetest female I've ever had, she makes it a habit of licking people:P. We also have one a snake bit but did not eat, he was very lucky. Its a great feeling taking them in

  • if your rat has a disease does it only live for one year ?

  • It depends what it is. If it's a respiratory infection, you can get meds for it. I'm lucky, I keep my rats slim and healthy and they live past 2.5 years. I've had 5 rats live beyond 3 years.

  • FREEDOM... and loving every minute!!

  • I know on one of your other videos you mentioned you'd gotten your cages from Martin's, which style are they?

I just bought myself two 6 week old girls yesterday, Lucy and Wil (Wilomena), and they're in a cheap hamster suited cage, I want something big though.

  • Mine were a modified r695, larger doors and pull out tray, no bottom shelf.

  • Mine is R699 version, although I only have two young rats that are only 7 weeks old and they are females! But that means I can keep this cage for a long time and if I ever get more rats (which I will ;) ), I can keep this cage forever and maybe get two if I ever get tons of rats and some don't get along. I love my rat cage and so do my rats!

  • awesome do u have a rat room for them and also do u let them explore all they want or do u close their cage at nite

  • wow you have rly nice place for them. if only my rats had these things. There is no such things in hungary like that. And yay for evanescence bring me to life in the video :)

  • how do you get your rats so tame??!!?? i have two girlies called amber and muffin and it seems impossible to tame them, lol!

  • Just awesome! Spoiled ratten as always, Jo :):) Give them belly kisses from me!

  • i bet they like that getting lots of excercise

  • I see you put cloth covers on the different level sections. Do your rats eat that up a lot, making it difficult to keep on there? Is it hard to keep clean?

  • nice music.

  • aww its become a tradition for me now

everytime I watch your vids I get mi rats out

    they grown up

    :]

now they have little white flecks in their fur

  • are they litter trained? whenever I let mine out I have to clean up so many poops x.x

  • cool! I bet they love it! I love this song, I listen to it a ton :-)

  • yayaaya my rattie friend!!! i still love mine alot!! god they are great pets keep up the awesome work u do for the cuties!!!!!

  • I adore your rats play area - and cages! =D

  • Looks like everyone is enjoying the FNs!

  • I love rats and nice cage!
