If you can find a contemporary synthetic composure of the music played during this level, it's potentially powerful. When you come to a certain point, it steps up, raises it up a notch; if you will (I think i'm making a reference to a parody of a cultural icon, so this post may seem peculiar). Either way, if you look past the beeps and boops, the music is good stuff, better than that baroque bullshit.
The music changes subtly when you enter the staircase at 6:06.
The choir pad takes over playing the G minor and F# minor chords (the same chords as used in intro and forest themes) it's more obvious when using a wavetable synth.
On some of the Roland modules the effect is very dramatic. It's how I always identified this particular location in the castle as I couldn't be bothered to draw a map!
I think I get it now. I literally thought you just had to click on 3 of the same blocks in a row, not that they actually had to be POSITIONED in a row, tic-tac-toe style. It makes sense now, of course, but for some reason I didn't guess it at the time.
I don't know if you are going to see those two guards in the castle. I don't want to spoil anything, but I have a question. The Chief Thief mentions two people who tried to break into the castle, and he says he never saw them again. I was just wondering. Are the two guards supposed to be the two thieves? Or am I completely off my rocker?
Last time i played, I didn't realize the time of day mattered to the scene happening in the entry hall and wondered why it wouldn't, heh.

It sounds even better, when you choose MIDI music, instead of the standart Sound Blaster music.

Ye Gad. We've been over the lock picking game! How did you forget how to play!
Although I did like how the wraith came from the pillows of all places. Haunted pillows!

Well do you get it now? Or does HerCrabbiness have to go over the concept of three in a row?

Did you ever fight the wraith in the cemetery crypt?
Persephoneia01 2 years ago
What, you mean Janos' wraith? Or is there another one?
LateBlt 2 years ago
There's another one in the tomb behind Elyssa & Janos' graves.

Oh wow... I didn't even know. No, I don't think I fought that one. Oh well, I probably won't now. =)

I love how it switches from a small bedroom to a blueish dungeon when you battle the wraith.

That means that the whole lavish castle you're in - is an illusion ! And really the hero is locked in the madhouse cellar, raving.
