  • try fly fishing, u feel better when you release the fish

  • i love how you have a log stuck to ur vest

  • You are not preserving any fish by hooking them deep with a bait hook and bait ! time to graduate to a fly rod and barbless hooks ! make the change it will be more rewarding !

  • can you show how to set and cast your minnows in the fast moving river?

  • Nice fish but you shouldn´t smash them on grass or stones

  • Yeah, you probably are the most deadly fisherman alive... Deadly to the fish. First thing you need to do is learn how to handle fish. Use a net and don't squeeze them by there gills. No these fish are not as strong as you think. Second, throw away the minnows and buy a fly rod. You sound like you appreciate your waters and a fly rod will give you so much more satisfaction. Don't be ignorant. You said the fish hardly ever swallow the hook yet it just so happens one swallowed it on this video.

  • I have to agree with Hookinem. 25 wild brown trout over 17 inches caught and released = 25 dead fish. you have ultimately refined your catching method, now refine your release method.

  • The stick is a wading staff to help in the tricky and moss covered rocks. I also wear studded wading shoes.

  • Wats the stick on your leg for

  • @dood195 i think its a third leg in case you lose your balance in the water...

  • You obviously are very appreciative of the river your fishing as well as the fish in it.Outdoors were made for people like you and you probably get more out of it ,.meaningful wise than a lot of others out there as well.but you've gotta know that live minnows are inhaled by the fish,.absolutely inhaled. you have got to start using a bigger hook sacraficing the nmber you'll catch slightly but increasing those that survive.Just because a fish swims off ,.does not means it lived.

  • @ravenfork I get a lot of comments on these matters but I just don't quite agree. I am in constant contact with the bait and instantly set the hook, usually hooking them in the mouth. These fish are tougher than people are giving them credit. I am here all the time and rarely find them dead and I eat them if I suspect their survival is in serious question. I employ one of the most efficient methods of fishing ever invented and it is way better than when we filled the coolers.

  • I cannot believe what i just watched on these videos. Learn how to properly handle fish!!!! you talk about protecting these gorgeous fish and in these videos it looks like you dont know shit.

  • Try Flyfishing the ausable it is much more rewarding! you will never pick up the spin rod again!

  • How do you rug the minnows. And what type are they.

  • Adk Wayne, awesome video!! Beautiful river and great trout. We fish in the Adks as well, and I have several brook trout fishing vids on my channel. Please stop by and check em out.

  • Wayne,

would like to fish with you this spring/summer. how do i contact you? please contact me if interested.

  • Wayne,

    Bob

  • Wow you really are a yahoo, I wonder how many of the trout you catch actually survive. Before you mention your guide friend in your post maybe you should note how he handles a trout properly, and yours are banging off of rocks and deeply hooked...go back to chopping wood and let the real guides take people fishing...

  • Is that a minnow bucket between your legs?

  • Yes that is exactly what it is! I make these myself and have found it is the most efficent way to transport minnows. I also have a removable mesh liner inside so i can frequently change the water. I have fished using live minnows for 35 years and consider myself one of the mostly deadly fisherman alive thanks to some custom equipment I have invented. No fly fisherman can cover the rivers as quickly and efficently. Very observant are you a minnow man also?

  • what river is this? ive been wanting to fish the oswegatchi river

  • I am afraid I will not reveal the name in order to protect the innocent. I am forming a club here so that these special wild fish can hopefully be protected forever. Oswegatchie river has some good stretches but a lot is very flat. If interested in hearing more about joining my fledgling club get back to me. The river I am on is very remote with very little access and it may be one of the best in the U.S. I am going to post a vid explaining more over the winter. thanks for watching!! Papa Bear.

  • most of the time i don't keep any fish because cleaning and filleting fish is to much work for a lazy person like myself

  • Hey Great video - Love the releases but we've all gotta eat!!! Cute dog too! 5 Stars from us.

    Dave. DV Editor. BragNRelease.

  • No worries mate. So you have to eat that one. Thats a good dinner right there< and a healthy meal I might add.

  • Nice fish! What do you have goin' here? Are you fishing a fly down river off a spinning reel? or what are you using? Just wondering because i've seen your other videos and their mostly fly fishing from what i've seen.
