respeto mucho a bb king pero la verdad esta version de ej no le pide nada a la de bbking. lastima por el video que si fuera de buena calidad se disfrutaria aun mas. de todas formas gracias por el aporte @gypsybig
2:54 - 2:55 Guys, i don't want sound like a fanboy, tell me everything, but this part is absolutely the most innovative trick that i've ever seen in the last years in the total guitar sphere !!!! Pinch harm. on the 4th string that highs the A of two octaves, then tap on the 20th fret for making sound the minor 3rd (C) on the same octave of the A pinched !!!! THIS IS AN UNBELIEVABLE AND ALIEN TOUCH OF GENIUS !!!!!! NO WORDS FOR DESCRIBE IT !!!! (and makes clear all Jeff Beck influence on Eric..)
This is one of those tunes that embodies Eric Johnson's talents not only as a player but as a musician. It's a cover that has been greatly expanded beyond its original boundaries. In addition, Eric's tone completely melds into the song, giving it an other-worldly property. In years to come, musicians will look back on Eric Johnson as one of the great musicians of the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
@cbfeeling I would also include the lick from 5:16 to 5:20. I think it's pure genius, beyond awesomeness i can't believe he comes out of his way flying like that, And fuck me I want this tone so bad !!!!!!!!!!!!!
love the guitar playing!!! singing the blues requires a little more depth in the voice. my only small criticism here. Roscoe Beck on Bass is so cool!! Robben Ford use to have him. Saw them live in a very small club in New Orleans in 2000. Talked to Robben and he was so down to Earth and nice! Great Guitar work !!!!!!!!!
Johnson rocks, the best bb cover, this guy has got magic in his fingers and soul, imo I like this much better then the original. you cant beat Austin city limits for a outdoor venue
yes, you've got the correct show. I greatly prefer this to the BB King version. Soulful, powerful playing. He shows great restraint in his playing of this song. I love the dynamics as he gradually shifts from the laid back playing to the heavier riffs. Just awesome!
Stephen Barber its a great musician...he gives a nice atmosphere to the song...I think that EJ should invite him to join the band again. thats what i think xD
The beginning sounds like Black Velvet

Excellent version of the song. Still like Robin Trower's version better. If you haven't heard it, check it out.

The stuff between 5:25 to 5:39 is what separates Eric from everyone else.

I'm sure he would love to, but Stephen B is a busy guy as it is!
Eric has said he would like to bring Carson Brock on the road with him though...
