I am a pit owner and I can tell you that sometimes you can can a pit and raise it properly and it can still attack someone or another animal.I once got a pit from a person that breeds the pits for their aggressiveness(unknowingly) ,and there are some that breed for the for their sweetness.

I do believe that if you want one as a house pet then you should with due diligence find out about the breeder and the temperament of the dog. I don't think that pits should be owned by any and everyone.
