Yes please. Hahaha well this is my first time to NOT perform a piano solo, and there's so many different tempos in that song :( So yeah like when you first practice with the whole band how did you keep up with it? & can you tell me everything pretty much hahaha
@1004Cookie there shouldn't be any tempo changes after letter E until the rit. and molto allag. at the very end
this song was the first time I ever played piano in a group, so I had a lot to get used to. I wouldn't say I kept up right away lol
the beginning of the piano part is really easy as long as you get good with counting the rests and I did almost every sixteenth note run with two hands even though it was only on one staff (exceptions when there were left hand parts)
@1004Cookie a lot of the double octave stuff on the right hand (A-flat, G, A-flat, B-flat, E-flat, B-flat) can be played with just the lower octave since the higher range is always covered by the bells
honestly, the trickiest part for me to get used to was getting to those really really low notes so fast between parts (like the 8th and 9th measure after letter R and pretty much the whole end section)
it honestly took a lot of practice to really get down but it's so much fun lol
Hey! I'm playing the piano part for this too, can you maybe play the piano part and put it on YouTube? This is my first time playing with an orchestra and I need help ):
Watching this just inspired me to try to compose MY favorite concert band piece. It's funny because the first time I heard your recreation of this it made almost no impression on me because I was listening to it in the background but watching the effort you put into this makes a world of difference.
I wish my band teacher would pick awesome music like this to play instead of bullshit 50s freeform shit like George Washington Bridge and Canzona (which he wants to do for adjudication -_-)
While listening to this made me tear up.....our school did this song for marching season......those were some pretty good times. Although we'll never be able perform that show again, the memories we had is something I'll never forget:) Brings back incredibly great memories:)
I feel like a total jerk for telling you this, but there's a mistake at 4:34 in what's normally the flute part, the timing's off. Lol I just know this because that whole section (Letter E as I recall) is permanently ingrained in my head from playing it in high school and with how much fun I had with this piece. I immediately noticed something off there in this recording. But cripes that makes it like 99.999% accurate otherwise lol, amazing work once again :D
Every aspect of this shows your love for the piece. The instrumentation, the gorgeous volume work, the whole package. I could almost imagine it fitting the part of Sleeping Beauty where the prince comes and kisses her awake (around file 45), then they share some time together before everyone else awakes in succession (file 80 or so on).
This is clearly the most ambitious MPC yet posted to youtube, and it shows in its gloriousness. A tough one to follow for anyone. Wow.
I think with what the MPCers are all doing these days, we'll *eventually* find the limit... (maybe there isn't one that we can realistically reach soon, which is good)
despite the seemingly randomness of the instruments and their bunches together, i personally think that this is one of the best and most epic pieces of music i've ever heard, especially for mario paint composer
This is the most epic thing I have ever seen. Thank you, sincerely, for bringing this into the world. Easily the most emotional song I've heard in Mario Paint Composer.... Possibly in general. Things like this are why I as well as many others look up to you as our role model in the pursuit of creating music. Thank you for being you.
Your skills in mario paint, nay, in music, are superb. Chills ensued as I watched and listened to the piece unfold. To put so much feeling into it is nothing short of miraculous.
I've said this before and I'll say it again. You've outdone yourself. The fact you did all this on MPC is just simply incredible. I wouldn't be able to point out a single flaw if I tried. It doesn't even need more fucking cowbell. It's perfect.
Wow the fact that this can be done on mario paint with the original soundset no less is just unreal. this was just absolutely amazing, after Asphalt Cocktail and now this, i cant come to any other conclusion then you're the best mario painter online. and very possibly in general. Amazing job.
I've never heard the original soundfont sound anything like this before. This is really great literature, and the fact that you pull it off with all the limitations of MPC is profoundly amazing. After listening to it, I feel like I don't even know what just happened. lol. I hope I am privileged enough to hear more in the future. :P
That was absolutely beautiful, balloon. I knew it would be worth staying up all night waiting for this to upload! I don't know where you get the energy to do these megaprojects, or the talent to pull them off so perfectly, so all I can say is keep 'em coming, I'm rooting for you :D
Jesus this was both annoying and a fucking blast to record, had to go offline on everything to prevent people from ruining the recording, not to mention I had to restart it twice (both times at around file 110~ no less, lmao). But hot damn, this was incredibly beautiful to listen to. By the time I finished, I was thinking "Did balloob really just make a 11 minute song his bitch...?"
Fantastic work as always, balloon. You've really outdone yourself.

balloon303 3 months ago
@balloon303 Nope! Not from Texas! Neither did we perform there, but whoever was able to perform this show was very lucky!:)

i can't believe how far you've taken this program out of it's roots...
i dunno what to say... i kinda wanna say this is truly spectacular... but that would be quite an understatement.
