  • Damn,I miss him

  • @belegulo Typical, that is, theists making egregious and flagrant assumptions.

  • Athiest and religious People Can Fight FOREVER!! but it will Never prove anything as For me?..i Only Believe what i Can see Feel Touch and Eat' Everything Else is Hear Say'..Theres Not a Human being on Earth that trust Eachother So i ask? why do you believe in a Book that was Written by HUMANS that You Don,t Even KNOW? Stop all this Shit ..GOD! is a Mental illness that drives us all to KILL" we Have Enough Fucken! Problems on This Planet Without Causing More with Things that Don,t even EXIST?

  • You will forever be missed Chris.

  • God exists because he says so in the Bible and Bible is the truth because God says so and god exists because he says so in the Bible and Bible is the truth because God says so and god exists because he says so in the Bible and Bible is the truth because God says so and god exists because he says so in the Bible and Bible is the truth because God says so and god exists because he says so in the Bible and Bible is the truth because God says so and so on...

  • 1) Atheist compare the Bible with the Iliad.

    2) Atheists say that Bible is bullshit.

    3) Therefore they believe that universal literature is bullshit.

  • @belegulo

    Lol?

    1. Atheist compare the Bible with the Iliad in that it is a fiction

    2. Atheist say that the Bible is bullshit in terms of FACTS

    3) Therefore they believe that the Bible is bullshit in terms of reality, but is a fiction

    Fucking moron.

  • @belegulo

    1) Dumbass makes observation

    2) Dumbass is a person

    3) Therefore all people are dumb-assess

  • May you not rest in peace as you obviously didn't believe in that bullshit.

  • @toulouse666 That makes no sense. Try to think before you type eh.. or someone might mistake you for a moron.

  • Brilliant.

  • Religion is the best and the wort. There is its beauty.

  • lol

  • Am I too drunk to control my senses or is there a sound that is frequently associated with the old west around the 1:40 mark, shortly before the windows error sound?

  • @OUTSPOKENwheel You mean like the person with a top rated comment pointed out about a week ago?

  • @NotDuncan Buh. This confirms that i was, in fact, too drunk to control my senses.

  • Atheists don't dwell. It is the incorrect, the superstitious and the credulous, who bombard us daily with the absolute BS they invented while cowered in the mud, wondering why it rains. I can explain the rain part to you if must needs be. "The tides go in the tides go out." I can explain that too, not that I'm a genius. OR, you could find the information in a SCIENCE BOOK ! There are books in big type, with 1 or 2 syllable words for the sheep of the IT, the nongod, created by ITS sheep.

  • am i crazy or does the theme from the good the bad and the ugly start playing at 1:38

  • @raplena14 I heard it too- you're not insane.

  • @raplena14 then the windows error tone afterwards. i was looking around my screens trying to find that error window for a good few seconds.

  • @raplena14 It is a sign...........You have heard of the spaghetti western?......That was a message from the flying spaghetti monster,

  • Damn, I miss Hitch already.

  • video is too choppy to watch.....it seems edited.....too bad, I like Christopher

  • I agree that religion is bullshit. But Christopher should be smart enough not to buy into the propaganda about Iran blowing up the world with a nuclear weapon.

  • it is true biologically and metaphorically: you have to be a horse's ass to believe in horseshit. The evidence is overpowering.

  • 1:51 windows error ^_^

  • Whenever reject an idea, you have to provide an alternative.

So if you say religion is false, then tell me which is true.

If the world didn't start the way the religion says, then tell me the way it did

  • @BrFaisal : Just because somebody cannot explain how the world was made is "NOT" evidence that "your" god created it or any religious explanation is valid... A religious person needs EVIDENCE to prove their religious story is true....

If a religious nut wants to claim their religious creation story is true they need to provide EVIDENCE proving the story...

  • @OppressedAnarchist

Why is it not evidence that God exists?

So the world came out of nothing? It has absolutely intelligence behind it? do you need to be intelligent to figure out that creation needs a creator, just like an invention needs an inventor.

How is that being rational? I can gurantee u became atheist because u thought one religion was wrong. So u basically concluded: the other religions are wrong too...

Atheist CAN never answer questions. they can only insult ppl of faith

  • @OppressedAnarchist I seriously doubt proof would be taken seriously by some Atheists. At the end of the day people will believe what they want. Most likely whatever they were raised to believe.

  • @shaindaman13 If god came down from the heavens and took over every TV station and said hey its me god. Most people would believe that...

You are right people mostly believe what they were "raised" to believe !!!

  • @OppressedAnarchist Yeah. The point I guess I'm Trying to make is if someone firmly believes in God or doesn't, there's not much point in trying to debate it with them. You're most likely not going to convince them other wise. I mean, how many times have you heard somebody in this argument go "Oh yeah, I guess you're right. I will completely change my entire belief system because you make such a convincing argument" ?. It's most likely not going to go that way. You just end up offending them.

  • @shaindaman13 It seems like the only way people change their minds is through a more neutral medium like a book they chose to read or a film they wanted to watch or some personal experience. It seems like trying to argue through a confrontation doesn't work. All you can do is state your view and leave it at that ...

  • @OppressedAnarchist Exactly.

  • @OppressedAnarchist The definition of God is very generic and transparent: God is the cause of the universe.

  • @belegulo "God is the cause of the universe." Bullshit.

  • @BrFaisal No you don't! Rejecting a proposition on its own merits doesn't require an alternate explanation. If I accused you of murder, and there was no evidence that you'd done it, you wouldn't have to present the actual murderer to be found not guilty. And what can be asserted without evidence, such as claims of gods, can be dismissed without examination.

  • @GoblinXXX

Well, there is evidence for God. He revealed the Quran. Read it. Tell me what you think.

Muhammad isn't the author of Quran, because he was illiterate.

Quran mentions scientific facts, which we only discovered recently. look it up on YouTube. Scientific facts of the Quran

  • @BrFaisal The "scientific facts" that Muslims ignored until they were actually discovered by ordinary means? Very useful. The Bhagavad Gita makes similar claims to revealed wisdom from gods. Read THAT and see how quick you convert to Hinduism. (Or just try to explain why that's obviously wrong and the Koran is right.)

  • @GoblinXXX

To what you say, you either present proof because we all know Atheists are rational people. or you keep your mouth shut.

Quran is not a book science. It's a book of signs, that indicate the Quran is not a man-made product, but it's divine

  • @BrFaisal You present evidence, but "put up or shut up" us another way to put it, yes. And again, what exactly is in the Koran that indicates it's divine, that's NOT in the Bible or the Bhagavad Gita or the Egyptian Book of the Dead, or the works of Homer, or the Prose Edda?

  • @BrFaisal Basically you're saying that there is a god because the Quran says so?

How do you know that Muhammad was illiterate and he didn't read the stories of the bible?

Give me one scientific fact that the quran mentions to debunk it XD. I guarantee you 100% that I'll do...

  • @FeLiNe418

It's established incontrovertibly through historians that he's illiterate. Do you see the reality of what you are doing. If a historical fact goes against what you believed, you say, "is that right?"

I am not stupid enough to give someone something that they won't take. I will give you a verse. and you are going to say it's wrong because those who look for faults will eventually find it, although in reality it's not.

type on YouTube: scientific miracles in Quran

  • @BrFaisal How the hell do you "prove" someone was illiterate hundreds of years after their death? The best you could possibly hope for is testimony from many contemporaries, but even if such existed and were all sincere, the best you could get from that is "THOSE people didn't think he could read"-- But those people could have been lying, and any such documents could easily be fraudulent. You can never prove that another person CAN'T read, in any case.

  • @BrFaisal Good lord, first we had to deal with the hicks from the bible-belt and now also with the nut-cases that blow people up for disagreeing with him? There is no God.

  • Wow - I really think that every man, woman & child deserves to hear such things ..... Awesome .

  • Christopher Hitchens = Chuck Norris X 1000

  • Classic western music in background from 1:40 to 1:52... Weird. lol

  • I'm avaiting for The Dark Side Of Politics and The Dark Side Of Bank.

  • @MissSaharaja Life is a beautiful albeit rugged journey. When people find a special meaning for themselves amidst the chaos and call it spirituality, I don't see negativity in that at all. My issue is with people who wish to force their beliefs on others, form clubs based on them and chastise people for not joining. Some people consider love, empathy and inspiration forms of spirituality. I don't know if that is true or not, but humanity rarely suffers under people who believe this way. :)

  • Religion has a way of poisoning a person's mind against reason. I used to be a believer myself, and now I pity those who are religious because they'll never know the beauty of the real world as it's explained through science. I think to myself, ironically, there but for the grace of God go I...

  • @MissSaharaja As an atheist I wouldn't know who to pray to. :) You are probably right when you wrote: "not every person who is spiritual is a bigot" , but it seems to me if the "spiritual person" in question has found religion, their lack of bigotry is despite their religion. Lastly, most of the things that people call "spiritual" seem like wish-thinking. If something can't be tested, demonstrated or peer reviewed, how do we know it is real?

  • Brilliant as always, with elucidations all should pay heed to.

For thinkers and realists religion needs to be kept under restraint.

For many of the religious, it is the enemy within they must fear and combat.

As thier friend today may burn them at the stake tomorrow if they do not get swept along as did the German people by the Nazis, then it was to late.

  • Thank you for posting this, FFreeThinker.

  • Does anyone know the sources Hitchens cites on Joseph Smith and the Smith family?

  • SO...Christians are Jedi's?

  • "Repent of your sodomy".

    ......

    BWAAAHAAAAHAAAAHAAAHAAAHAAAHAAAHAAAHAAAHAAA

  • Christianity, it is well to remember, is a dark, bloody religion fixated on the afterlife because it is, at its core, a death cult that showcases a human sacrifice as its central theme.

  • @sailcat9 I could not agree more. Growing up Christian, I was always troubled with the negativity of it all. Sure, we got 'Jesus loves you', yet it was not a love unconditional; it was a love based on self-hate, loathing of the true human spirit--the one that pissed off medieval powers who simply used this religion to excuse slavery, torture, intolerance and sexual discrimination. I'm glad to have moved on to better things!

  • @sailcat9 I could not agree more. Growing up Christian, I was always troubled with the negativity of it all. I'm glad to have moved on to better things!

  • There seem to be few examples of how religion can make us better. I am an atheist and I was very quick to contribute to relief funds for the Earthquake victims in Japan. That is just one example of many that people like me have done.

  • @bartonim Well said. Morality is a human invention, just like god. When we understand we don't need the approval of an imaginary deity to make us moral beings, we are then able to make more intelligent and moral decisions in our lives. What we definitely do NOT need is the validation of religious figures such as priests, mullahs, preachers, rabbis, imams, or popes to make us good and moral creatures.

  • @sailcat9 So true regarding morality! Besides, a large portion of those priests, rabbis, ministers, mullahs, imams, etc., are human anomalies in that they are psychopaths, totally devoid of any empathy, or desire to be moral at all.

  • @sailcat9 As sad and completely true as you statement is, it's true of other religions as well.

  • @dan91709 You're right.

  • @sailcat9 i thought it fixates on the afterlife because living in a way that doesn't leave your family and country as vulnerable to extraneous interests as a body without a heartbeat is to decomposition, sucks and generally involves the sacrifice of your lust for life; but knowing that people you care about are redeemed for whatever the big bad world wants from them, by the time you die, is worth it. -and if it isn't then people for whom it is don't need you in their society. THAT's christianity

  • @sailcat9 thus the central theme is self-sacrifice. i'm not recommending it but it's obviously the better description of the phenomena of default christendom in otherwise intelligent people.

  • @sailcat9 ..well said.

  • LOL, was that a Windows sound ~1:45?

haha, even Windows fears Hitchens' debating skillz...

    ಠ_ಠ

  • JudeoChristianity has no "dark side"; people have a dark side as a result of sin.

  • @TheGhostFromPlanetX What's the definition of a "sin"?

  • @TAz69x --To sin is to go against the will of God. To sin is to do something that displeases God.

  • @TheGhostFromPlanetX How would you know the will of God?

  • @stephanorion --Its taught in the bible and through the church.

  • @TheGhostFromPlanetX Christianity has a "dark side" because there has never been a more wicked protagonist in any fictional tale, ever. Not to mention those who believe it spread their wickedness with such fury that it effects us all! If ever there was a sin, it is being proud of being gullible and teaching children to be the same.

  • @SoverignCitizen --Ill bet you're a queer.

  • @TheGhostFromPlanetX LOL! I'll bet you were raised in a christian home, are surrounded by christian believers and have internalized the dogma as if it was your own. I'll also bet that you would be outcast by your friends, family and community if you were to think for yourself and question the nonsense of your bronze age beliefs. Lastly, I bet deep inside of you, you do have the courage to stand on your own, but your fear of death and joy of judging others to hell will trump it. Sorry friend.

  • @SoverignCitizen --REPENT OF YOUR SODOMY.

  • @TheGhostFromPlanetX I don't have an invisible friend to speak to. I do however love it when a christian puts their intellect on display as you have done. You bring your cult down from the inside. :) Many christians are intelligent people that unfortunately promote wicked and dishonest things. You however practice Douche-baggery of the highest degree in the name of christianity. You help awaken new atheists every time you communicate. Keep up the good work!

  • @SoverignCitizen --YOU ARE GAY.

  • @TheGhostFromPlanetX Thank you for adding more proof to my point. I thought you would. Just like with your belief in god, you make assertions about me without evidence. There seems to be a pattern here. BTW, if I were a bigot towards homosexuals or insecure about my own sexuality your assertions might offend me, but since I am not either of those things...fire away Ghost Boy!

  • @SoverignCitizen --GAY GAY GAYY AGY GAY !!!!

  • @SoverignCitizen Well said sir, the response from the" christian" says so much.

  • @miloman51 Thanks. There is no reasoning with people that don't care about evidence.

  • @TheGhostFromPlanetX I bet YOU are an idiot. I KNOW you're a homophobic bigot.

  • religion is the biggest disease in society!!

it is passed from parent to child, from generation to generation, like a birth defect!!

  • Evil despots hide behind religion? Islamic religious zealots have weapons of mass destruction. President Bush made a dumbass statement once? Well duh.

So Chris doesn't believe that religion has a 'moral effect' or has ever made people treat each other more kindly. Malcolm X converted to islam in prison. The song 'Amazing Grace' was composed by the reformed captain of a slave ship. Prisons are full of those who have converted to Christianity or islam and turned away from crime after release.

  • why do people always look to whether something is "written" or not as to whether its true or false. I could write something down right now that's completely false...put it in a bottle and sink it. in a thousand years someone will find it...but it was still false. That has just never made any sense to me

  • ZIONIST not Sionist

    Christopher not chritofer

    Hitchens not hitchings

Perhaps one should consider learning to spell correctly. Before attempting to lambast mister Hitchens with such perfunctory right-wing nonsence. Hitchens is not a zionist he is the Messiah!

  • @LJUncut

    NONSENSE not nonsence

  • the dark side, the immoral teachings of Cristofer Hitchings! SIONIST.

  • @reticeon Good heavens. How embarrassing.

  • FreedomFest has a lot of libertarians

    like Ron Paul 2012

  • @ 1:45, theme song to "Fistful of Dollars."

  • @wizzolf theme song to "Fistful of Dollars." -- "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" I think.

  • Genious! Hitch Is God! @-)

  • I now wonder if part of why Christopher Hitchen vigorously attacks his opponents like Agnes Bojaxhiu, Henry Hissinger, and Diana Spencer is to compensate for briefly befriending Robert Mugabe.

  • @writersblock26 mugabe? You do mean the same mugabe that was just welcomed by the POPE a few days ago just saying

  • @skwcw2001 Yep, the one and only Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe.

  • @Eaglessharp _Alice's Adventures in Wonderland_ is a work of FICTION, just like your precious Bible. Not one shred of credible evidence has EVER been uncovered to support any of the extraordinary claims it contains. It is purely a concoction of barely literate Bronze and Iron Age men who knew virtually nothing of the natural order. To answer your question: yes, I have read the Bible ... and the Qur'an ... and the Upanishads ... and the Analects ... and many, many other religious texts.

  • At around 2:40 Hitchens does something which is so fundamental to science and skeptical philosophy, which religion lacks almost entirely, was the admittance of a mistake. He was humbled by an event which he had compete control over, and openly admitted it. That is what sets science apart from religion: an encouragement of self-correction. Religion works by suppressing this, because if any religion encourages people to question it, in time it will be found to be unreliable and invalid.

  • @Eaglessharp That is absolute nonsense. In fact, the data DO NOT support H(0). Only a thoroughly credulous reading of the paltry works of the most deluded apologists would render this conclusion.

"If things are written down we usually call that evidence."

_Alice's Adventures in Wonderland_ was written down, too.

  • @Eaglessharp - The Dead Sea Scrolls were mostly just copies of the Old Testament. If you don't even question the reference to "Adam," then you are a lost cause. Did the Essenes exist all the way back (or almost) to mythical "Adam and Eve"? I'm holding back an ad hominem here, because your ability to think critically is obvious. Maybe you don't believe it, but "Mark" did, which (and this is not an ad hominem but simply an observation) makes "Mark" a moron.

  • @Eaglessharp - "What kind of motive would someome have to do so much effort to write down the history of Jesus Christ as Luke did?" Well, how can you even trust Luke? He was a writer of fiction, as is obvious by his Chapters 1-3. He (laughably) traces the genealogy of Jesus all the way back to "Adam"! "...which was the son of God." Pure fiction. But let's suppose the myth of "Adam and Eve" is history. How woud Luke POSSIBLY know Jesus' genealogy throughout all history? Nobody could know that.

  • @mrskarenkatz Twenty bucks says you're wrong. I'll even give you 10:1 odds.

  • any smart atheist can disprove any argument that anyone from and multiple or single religion or person can make i dont care what it is it can be answered or proven wrong.

  • @DAKGOD4EVER this is so true. my christian family insisted i talk to a preacher about my questions. and i ended up asking questions he could not answer. my first thought was "wow did i really get that much smarter by not believing anymore?" lol. it is cake to debate a christian. just takes so damn long to corner them sometimes

  • I've just got my trousers off and she's already calling time! Regardless of your side of the position (and I'm on his) that's classic.

  • yes belief in a god + hatred for others + weapons of mass destruction... a true recipie for the start of WWIII.

  • i just noticed that Hitch had the coolest fuckin hair ever. before chemo.

at least for a 60 year old.

  • He sounds like snaps

  • Clint Eastwood = Windows error

  • religion = false

  • @Eaglessharp Ha ha, on the contrary. The "prizes" he has won were trophies for stupidity from the scientific community. Not that the entire community agrees with it, just that a specific scientist has invented the "crocoduck" trophy because that is what Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron asked to see in the fossil record. Trust me, you do not want to be linked with those two idiots.

  • @Eaglessharp This is possibly the most stupid statement I've ever found on Youtube.

There was no first cow. Individuals don't evolve, populations do.

  • @gamesbok hahahaha

  • @Eaglessharp Was he talking? If he was it is a normal mannerism where if you're talking about something to a crowd you point with your pointer finger and your pinkie goes out some and stays a little curled because you're concentrating on what you're saying to them. It is a common mannerism as like I described that many people do when speaking to others. Especially when making complicated points. If he is using some sort of occult power you wouldn't notice it at all believe me.

  • @Eaglessharp: So why aren't you doing just that then? :-/

  • @Eaglessharp that sacramental wine is tad strong today, either that or you are an idiot, or both

  • Comment removed

  • @stevesg92 blimey, another one

  • whatever a religion is true or false it will not make its beleivers better or worse

    there is no relation because

according the number of existing religions there must be some that are false and in all cases there are good and bad people into every religion

  • @Eaglessharp please less of the him/her ,it is very pc and teadious , thank you . anyway i have warned you .. GOD bless .

  • @Eaglessharp

"sacrifices to God are not always accepted by God"

no, they are never accepted by god.

Stop humiliating god, and making him so petty.

God...all powerful and perfect god by definition doesnt need anything material from us.

so ...god demanding for animal sacrifice....gold...land, thats obvious that the whole point of inventing god was to gain those goods.

and probably the inventors of gods were smart atheists themselves.

  • @UninstallingWindows how about the televangelists that are robbing the delusional idiots of today i think they are atheists also.horrible one ones. not like hitch

  • @phildirt3

yeah, those are definately atheists, making big buck, and i wouldnt blame them.

There is an old saying here, that basically means that its not very bad to take money away from stupid people.

Money = power, and when stupid people have power, things will get bad.

however...making people stupid in order to get their money....thats bad.

  • @UninstallingWindows

I disagree, I think it's particularly bad to take money away from stupid people.

Then again, I might be biased, I'm a nice person.

  • @phildirt3 Maybe the Bakers, Falwell, Swaggart and even Robertson *are* just utterly unscrupulous atheists. But it's far more likely they're just hypocrites who believe whatever's most convenient at the time.

I think they do believe in a god - a god who wants them to be rich, and doesn't mind any lies they tell because it's in a greater cause.

  • @UninstallingWindows Learn the TRUTH at JOYOFSATAN,ORG!! Change your life today and stop being a slave to the Lie that is christianity.

  • @UninstallingWindows well its like the founder of scientology said, if you want to get rich, start a religion.

  • @UninstallingWindows GOD IS A TITLE................WHAT IS HIS NAME???

  • @AFRICA4AFRICANS

    HER NAME IS APHRODITE

  • @UninstallingWindows Wasn't there a televangelist a few decades ago that made a lot of money with his televangelising business? And later it was found out he was actually an Atheist? I don't remember his name, but I remember a story like that.

  • @UninstallingWindows Read the bible....God humiliates him, her, or itself.

  • @UninstallingWindows Read the bible....God humiliates him, her, or itself.

    Eagle your not so sharp

  • @claudalegriffieth You mean "you're," not "your." I guess you're not too smart either.

  • @UninstallingWindows Read the bible....God humiliates him, her, or itself.

Eagle your not so sharp, Read and dont cherry pick the first testament

  • @UninstallingWindows How do you know?

  • @mrtweaker

    how do i know what?

  • @Eaglessharp

Of course 6 bricks dont build pyramids by themselves. And there is a good reason for that. The laws of physics dont allow it. However you cant say the same for biological matter.

And ....i could even give the first cells origins to god if you want.

It doesnt change anything about evo. since evo. beginst at first cell.

(btw, about pyramids, id recommend reading about Mars pyramids. just off topic)

  • @UninstallingWindows Mars pyramids? Yeah you mean those vague photos? Like the one on here that supposedly is of a humanoid? Sorry I have to see it for myself. Sense that won't happen I don't care.. I choose not to believe in any conspiracy theory unless there is real proof and that it is being done. I wouldn't base something that heavy as being truthful or not on a few photos from a mars rover that are very vague and belief in what you claim would be mostly faith in that fuzzy picture.

  • @WisenedGnome

    what are you talking about?

"...like the one on here that supposedly is of a humanoid"?

wtf, did you even watch this video.

and i dont think that mars rover has ever taken pictures of mars pyramids. and i never said that i believe that there are pyramids in mars. my point was that pattern seeking mammals as we are, we can see pyramyds and faces in places they probably dont exist. however...mars pyramids have far more proof compared to religious cults.

  • @UninstallingWindows Yeah that is true, I suppose there may be pyramids on Mars. But I doubt that and won't believe it until I get clear pictures and an official word. Otherwise I either have to see it myself or I just won't care for it. Have a good day, may your path be Windows Vista free. lol
