@michal23pl I'm not familiar how the MPC60 works and how you can have more than one sample per velocity layer. I've got a MPC1000 with JJOS2XL, and for now I've figured out a way to make drums sound more realistic by circling through a multi-hit-sample with Non-destructive chops, there is a topic on MPC forums about it I started. How many samples in total do you have assigned to a pad in this MPC60 program?
@bergweg each pad in mpc 60 it's like a permanent and separate program created in later akai samplers. for example to get the separate velocity setting for each hit in s1000 you have to create a separate program for them instead of one for the drums with a different keygroups. a bit pain in the ass, that's why i love mpc60. in the music above there was a one sample under every pad. 100% velocity sensitivity and about 10-20ms sensitivity/attack.
@michal23pl Great video! I learn something each time I check your joints.I was doing research to find out how to change the velocity sensitivity, but had no distinctive conclusion. The closest I got was something in the STEP EDIT, NOTE event - the VEL field. Also, I wanna be able to end the sound of a triggered pad when I trigger it for a second (or third, fourth, etc.) time, so as to start it again and not have the sounds overlapping. The advice is appreciated! Peace.
@chaseaston Hi. thanks. vel sensitivity is on page 2 of sample edit. It's always set at 100% which is a full sesitivity (unless you have a "full level" button on). your second question: it's only possible to set one voice polyphony with a 3.01 OS. otherwise sounds will always overlap each other. just get over it and use it as advantage. the example of creative use of it is in my new video. those sounds ovelapping each other and create a totally new melody and dimension. check it! peace.
@michal23pl Ok, thanks for that! I was secretly hoping that the one voice polyphony wasn't in OS2.02 - I think less is better sometimes when it comes to this. It also makes things more fun! Peace.
@bergweg anyway, probaly my dual spring reverb is critical for the "live" feeling. just imagine that this is an electroacustic device (mine is also extremely sensitive) so there's no way for each hit to sound exactly the same.
@AWUNMATERIAL thanks. I've downloaded (or stole, can't remember;) some live sampled drumkits long time ago. this is a sonor + zildjian drumkit. btw. I love Bob James. there must be some unconscious inspiration whatever i do:)
Is the drum kit made with hits sampled at multiple velocities?
bergweg 7 months ago
@bergweg yes. that's right:) and multiple velocity controlling attack as well.

@michal23pl You mean the lighter you hit the pads the longer the attack?
bergweg 7 months ago
@bergweg that's right:)
