understatment of the century in the description ... " hey , this is good " ..... hahahaha .... LOVE IT man ... you are truly lucky to have been at this .... As an American , I think REM is our greatest rock band and a national treasure .
1983, my junior year at UNC Chapel Hill. This song brings back memories. The guitar playing is reminiscent of the riffs of the late 60's early 70's. I love this song. Thanks for going through the extra steps to post this particular video.
@Isthisthelongestname Thanks. I plugged my old video recorder into my DVD recorder using the scart leads or using the other cable connections like video out/in audio out/in and then took the DVD disc to my PC drive. You have to make sure the DVD format you use, is playable on your PC.
I got into REM in 1984. It was all so strange and wonderful. Other bands trying to mine the seam of old/new were The Rain Parade and Green on Red, among others who I didn't hear. REM have staying power though. Funny, in them days if someone had asked who will make it, I would have said REM. And thought they would have been yesterdays news by 1989. But no. They grew slowly and steadily. And their talent knows no bounds. The later slagged off albums? Just give them a listen, a real listen.
Saw this when it was 1st broadcast in '83... Then saw their 1st UK tour shortly afterwards and got about 2 1/2 hours of them for £2.50. They were stunning!!! Still are...
