Probably the single greatest ever to do record were it not for the world wind of the Royal Man In The Mirror, but Stevie still may be the Greatest maker-of-music! With or without being "blind"...though that just adds to the argument that he, infact is!
I have been listening to this song for the past few days, and I will continue for the next few more. The actual reason I started to listen back to the song because usher did a cover of it and he sounded good. But no one can do it like the orginator.
What's so cool about the opening drum machine intro is that is was just a little too up tempo, the drummer actually plays along with it too, (just before Steveland switches instruments)...it wasn't until Steveland sat down at the keys, leans back (@ 0:34) and gave engineer the actual beat...
My fav Stevie song eva! He's so dam f+cking awesome! And he is a TRUE inspiration. When you think you can't do something, think of Stevie and everything HE'S done!!!! You have no excuse to not get off your asses!
tyger51ne - it's not too hard. start in Abm9, walk the 7th down 1/2, down to E, Dbm7. The "She thinks" part is F#, Dbm7, Bbm7dim, Eb, Am7. There's a part with GMaj79, DMaj79, GMaj79, F#m7. Just take baby steps, a section at a time. No need for sheet music. This should get you close enough to enjoy playing.
well thanx 4 that but i really am an amateur player. ive only figured out really the single notes for this song. chords i cant get yet....i am taking baby steps. i learned the piano late in life lol

masterpiece. So difficult vocals in this one. Maybe the best male vocalist ever and clearly the most talented one.
