in the comics (as far as I know), after fighting doomsday, superman kinda dies, and is resurrected as "black (suit) superman".

This scene isn't as bad as I originally remember it. I was dissapointed that the fight didn't last longer, but now that I watch it again, I like it. He stowed Doomsday away for when the monster comes back in the future to fight Clark again, this time as Superman.

This was the beginning origin between Davis Bloome/Doomsday and Clark Kent/Superman before they both meet again in the future at Clark Kent's job "The Daily Planet" in Metropolis. In the actual comic Doomsday was never human but he could speak, think, and act like a human being. Doomsday was very intelligent being a creation of General Zod also, Brainiac was another creation of General Zod.
