Not at all Adam. It's a matter of what you are used to or how many ways you can find to play. Like anything else it takes patience to get used to a new technique. I like this combo because I can have the best of both worlds, but essential? Nah :)
Steve is an amazing guitarist....I took lessons from Steve when he lived in the Frankford section of Philadelphia. Steve opened my eyes to 'real' music....how to think tension and release, communication with the audience, etc. He REALLY is a master! Keep up the good work Steve!
