@jamieryou - I don't look up to people because of their hair color. But it is human nature to identify with people who share characteristics similar to us, especially when we are children. And until ariel, there weren't any major disney animated females with flaming red hair. Even though ariel was created towards the end of my childhood and going into adolescence, I found it refreshing to see a major Disney heroine with red hair, as I have been a die hard Disney fan all my life.

@JamieRyou i just have to say if chucky had blond hair i wouldnt have found him as scary. the hair in my opinion makes a huge difference in a character because people these days tend to judge by what they see before actually watching a movie. if you saw a poster of a scary movie with a cute clean doll holding a knife then next to it you saw a poster with a bloody doll with a menacingly look and a knife in its hand which scary movie would seem scarier to watch?

What does a cute doll and a maniac doll have to do with haircolour? If Chucky had blonde hair he would still look scary. And haircolour doesn't have anything to do with you as a person. Lets take Dorian Gray for an example in the movie (with Ben Barnes) he has dark hair but in the book he is blonde but it's still the same character.

@JamieRyou my point is people go by what they see and actually if i read a book then see the movie has changed the characters physical features from the book i feel detached from the character. no offense to blonde's but i would have no interest in a blonde ariel nor a blonde chucky. idk if you knew but colors influence the choices we make. for ex. mcdonalds colors are red and yellow. red makes you hungry while yellow makes you want to leave. that makes sense for a fastfood restuarant doesnt it?

I think Ariel looks pretty with blonde hair but honestly she would look good in any haircolour. Actually the colour red makes one feel stress not hunger. Yellow on red looks fine, but yellow on yellow merge.

Red+Green combination looks great, but Yellow+green not that cool.

So I think, if makers from the beginning would have done Ariel with blonde hairs, she also would look sweet and nice, because all colours will be balanced from the beginning. Ta-daa.

@jamie-it was mostly a knee jerk reaction. Little mermaid is one of my favorite animated films. And I grew up in the 80s and early 90s. I didn't feel like there were too many redheaded characters, animated or otherwise, that I could watch or relate to.
