You can use a Goo for make more goos, cuting it, if would use a specie of object for make the goo more giant or more count of goos, would have more posibilities for eat another goos, it can change the game in any case when you need more Goo.
A Special Goo can be maked for be invencible for a little time. When you eat it, the Goo may be transparent for diference it.
Well the game sound interesting, i like it the players need innovation like it.
if you make obstacules, for move the goo, with gravity, the Goo fall and you can move it for go to eat another goos, may be used with vehicles or objects, for move the goo around of stage, with the objetive of use the goo for eat another goos using traps for evoid lose your goo in totally form. The difficult depend when the CPU's goo can eat you.
Another idea is use the goo for make more forms than another players in another mode called paint.
That's right. It's pretty cool. Actually hadn't heard of it when I first came up with the idea... it's just one of those coincidences.
And yeah, I think there's enough room in the "liquid game play" genre for more than a few attempts.
There's also a game called "Amoebas" in this year's IGF by a russian team. I wouldn't be surprised if they ALSO came to the idea independent of Liquid War or Goo.
Yes, I did. I get to know about Goo, when was going to submit Amoebas to IGF. Surfing Youtube (I haven't XBox360 joystick for PC to view Goo) I found Liquid Wars. It was realy a sorrow for me, becouse I thought that have invented the new gameplay. But this gameplay is evident and lying around us: I get my from plate of soup with a blobs of fat on its surface. Amoebas is at very beginning stage, while Goo is at final, and very impressive. So I wish You Good Luck for tomorrow judges' decision!!!
Haha. Me and Tommy got exactly the same thing. I remember once we accidentally dropped some oil in a saucepan of water, and just stood there for 5 minutes, watching it.
And now I see weatherforecasts with their iso bars, or clouds in the sky, or swarms of insects, flocks of swallows, oil in puddles in the street etc. etc. and I can't help going back to thinking about the game.
About Wiiware. Shigeru Miyamoto explains once that unlike Japan, there are more independent games here. "In the United States have independent developers who have had the desire to acquire the skills necessary for development and training required for access to technology, they can maintain their own personality and its intentions may emerge in the games they create". We need more games like this, maybe you need to star sending an e-mail and see what happen, you have nothing to lose. Good Luck.
All "indie friendly" schemes done by the console platform holders (XBLA, PSN, WiiWare) actually still have a pretty high barrier to entry.
When platform holders create these schemes, the sentiment of trying to help indies is appreciated, but it never turns out as easy and indie-loving as Miyamoto/Moore imply. Very quickly, it becomes a pure business thing. Games aren't being judged on how fun or interesting they are. They're judged on their marketability. Same as indie film festivals, really.
If you check the blog, I have a post addressing that issue. Basically, I didn't know about Liquid War until after I came up with this idea for myself. After trying LW, I still felt like Goo had a different enough focus to be a worthwhile game.
So, if there's some witty implication in there that I've ripped the game off, then I'm afraid I have to say "not guilty". People come up with similar ideas without knowing about each other, all the time. It happens.

You mean of the game? You're meant to surround the enemy's bits of goo with your bits of goo. But yeah, we weren't very clear about that, I guess.
Or... do you mean "what's the point?" about life in general? I hear ya, buddy. I hear ya.
