very good. i dont know if its the camera though but your vibrato is...a bit bumpy and i dont feel any passion in it. but all in all, very well done ;] you rawk. im playing this as a CM piece so wish me luck ^_^
My daughter wrote an intro to this piece- In Greek mythology, Pan was a half goat, half man god who ruled over the woods and pastures of Arcadia. Returning from hunting one day, he spotted a beautiful wood nymph named Syrinx. Unfortunately for him, she proclaimed herself a virgin for life and fled as he pursued her. Syrinx came to the Landon River, and no longer able to escape from Pan, she asked the water nymphs to change her form. Just as Pan laid hands on her, she turned into river reeds.
Knowing the reeds were once lovely Syrinx, the grief stricken Pan, longing to hold her, cut the reeds into different lengths, fastened them together and named his musical instrument after Syrinx. It's now called the Pan flute, after the god himself.
I've played this song also and quite enjoyed it. im glad you're a debussy person haha because so am I :]
some feedback on this... First off, I love your sound. I can tell it has nice support and it sounds rich. you should control your breathing more, one way can be finding better places to breathe so flow of the song won't be distracted. Also you should work on expressing your dynamic range. since this song is short, you should make it even more dramatic. good dynamics will do WONDERS.
This going to be my solo for solo and ensomble this year. I had already picked out my piece, but then, when my privite lessons teacher was looking to see if she had a copy with her, she saw "syrinx" and she said that she wanted to see how I liked it because it seemed to match my own personal playing style and I loved it.
how long have you been playing syrinx? -- and how long have you been playing flute? check out my version, not as good as yours but hey i was only 12 at the time.

It is the camera, unfortunately. It's not brilliant for recording. Thanks for your comment, and good luck! =]

Thank you very much! If I find time in the next few weeks, I might try playing Honegger's 'Danse de la Chèvre'.

Claude Dubussy wrote "Syrinx" based on Pan's lament over losing his love..
