  • i like this song its like they just went in the studio and just improvised in the end they had there verses but at the end i love it

  • love how they set it off at the end

  • Charmaine kinda looks like Towanda Braxton

  • and as much nicci can sing her range could have been better

  • my favorite will always be maxee she can blow but at the same time have such a smooth silky voice

  • I want the 90's back..

  • @Keesh8181 It makes me sad when I reminisce about the music I grew up with from the 70-90's. I want them back too, girl.

I hope that with my own music and my good friend, that we can bring back that feeling and musicianship that we all seem to miss these days.

I love Brownstone and I wish a label would pick them up again now that they are on Myspace.

The new Girl is Tishina but the original 2 girls Nicci and Maxee are still together.

I wish Mimi was still there with them but shes retired :(

  • Tearing our love apart... so sad that love could come to that... what once gave a heart strength has the strength to tear it all apart again

  • This song is close to da heart......

  • I used to wear those pony tails with bangs around the time this video came out!

  • @SWEETRENEEB i used to wear long braids like Maxxe in the mid 90s ...miss those days...!

  • I used to wear thos pony tails with bangs around the time this video came out!

  • @ImALilMuch hehehehhe so true guy.

  • @ImALilMuch Lol!

  • Beautiful harmonizing!

  • one of the best pure singing female groups of all time

  • this is the group thier voices is so amazing i miss groups like this

  • @aalcazar707 im 14 and i agree with u 200% i cant even tell you a decent group either for my lame, no soulful havin', no meaning lyrics singin/rappin generation

  • YOU THIS IS IN ANSWER TO ALL THOSE THAT FORGOT WHAT REALL ARTISE SOUND LIKE GET TO THIS

  • Powerful Sister...

  • best remake of a white man's song ever. go girls.

  • damn they can blow!

  • I like this version better than the cd's.

  • it's a shame groups like Brownstone aren't around anymore....real music, no make-up

  • @fckmarok I agree, and whoa this version is way different then the album version, I don't remember Nicci singing the first verse lol.. and all the extra stuff at the end

  • One of the best remakes ever! This is my favorite song from them, r&b bwas so great in the 90's. In a perfect world, we would get back to this kind of music...because what we are stuck with now passing as r&b is just not cutting it. That's a sad shame.

  • I love this song seriously.

  • Question folks..There are two versions of this song by Brownstone... The first one is this one, where Nicci does lead. On the second version Maxie leads and towards the end, there's a guy singing with her......Who is the guy? Does anyone know of that version, where the guy is singing???

  • @antnee1980 This is actually the second version. The other version with the man singing is the original album version. When they wanted to do a video, he wasn't available so they remade the song and called it the "single version". I had the original album and the single version. This version is better IMO

  • @navlys33 I agree this version is better. I have 2 other versions of this by Brownstone. None of them come close to this version. I miss this song so much.

  • @HummerAli09 I can't find this version anywhere! Where did you get it?

  • just can't singin like this no more the music industry is crap now no real artist

  • i prefer the album version of the song. it's much more understated, soulful and not so overdone. sometimes less is more.

  • @VrsPNPguy4fun agree this version totally defines the word "OVERDONE"

  • @VrsPNPguy4fun I agree.. the spoken word toward the intro was a nice touch but the extra ablibs and harmonies toward the end were a bit much smh...

  • these Chic"s sang the HELL out of this Dam song!!!!

  • I can't tell you why 16 people dislike this.

  • @bigdumbclown LoL

  • wow, this is the eagles song's isn't it? cool version. like this

  • ONe of the sexiest songs EVER!

  • the video version is way better than the album song, I heard they are coming with some new stuff soon. check out nicci gilberts youtube page youtube.com/user/niccigilbert70

  • You can't go wrong with this song. Love your smooth version Brownstone!

  • I was so disappointed in the single and album version. It seems this version wasn't released as a single because the single I had was the same as the album version. I love both versions but prefer this one.

  • @Craverofchocolate i know. they sang on this ne. the other one is boring

  • I love Maxee's voice so much. She's amazing. I know most will probably prefer Nicci, because it is a powerful voice, but I appreciate the smmoth melodic sound of Maxee. i love Brownstone forever. I wore out the tape then the cd's. I'm about to purchase their whole catalog again.

  • They tore this song up!

  • hands up if you copt the sisters of swing album in the 90s.

  • even solo, these women are magnificent

  • I heard them sing this song live, right here in Italy many years ago.... MAGNIFICENT!!!!

  • I love The Eagles version and I like this remake because it's different and not just a rip off, I can see why R&B fans would prefer it.

  • Old skool *memories*... Naaaww... Love this sonq!..

  • @ImALilMuch AMEN!!

LOL, I was just thinking that....I was in my early 20's when this came out, so it's not considered old school by any means, but we need to take it back 15-20 years.

  • @ImALilMuch lmao!!! i wish these stupid women who make music today could do the same thing

  • I love the album version but either one by Brownstone is great. Miss this girl group...

  • Great voices! I really love this version

  • And i thank you

  • @ImALilMuch YES YES YES!!! And their not grinding all over the floor and on poles either!!!

  • @ImALilMuch That was funny and true

  • i wonder what they are up to now

  • Ok these ladies are vocalist... great group and highly underrated!

  • THESE WOMEN CAN SANG!!!!! NOT SING...SANG!!!!

  • @n1nar0ss I know, right? 3 beautiful women...soundin' like somebodies mass choir!!

    LOL!!

  • @n1nar0ss I know, right? 3 beautiful women sounding like a damn mass choir!! LOL!!

  • you make it harder than it has to be and i cant tell you why thats the best part miss this song and the year it came out and the hook is one of the best hooks ever well done

  • you make it harder than it has to be....luv it

  • Totally agree with jsull81079..its a shame how RnB is just not the same as it was in the 90s....

  • I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HIS SONG!!!!!! THESE ARE REAL SINGERS!!!!!

  • love it

  • i'm addicted to this song i listen to it @ least five times a day. Great music!!

  • i became obsessed with nicci after watching this video lol

  • eagles wrote it,, but brownstone brings it home!!! have mercy

  • Bring back real singers music industry!

  • gotta luv it!

  • I love them singing this song,,,, what was even more buzzy thou was that its an eagles song! how cool is that!

  • PRETTY

  • such classy women, compared to the little girls you see on music videos today

  • great remake

  • Love the their version of this classic song!!!

  • HARMONIZING! I LOVE IT!

  • i just loove the intro in this one as well as the rest of it...

  • @01decoder HARMONIZING, I LOVE IT, I HAVE TO HEAR THIS EVERYDAY, I CAN'T TELL YOU WHY!

  • dope

  • of course i'd rather have these fine nubian princesses sing this to me than them old dudes, but the classic is a classic

  • the eagles did a good job on this song, but brownstone did it better in my opinion

  • This is that feel good music right there!! Where nothin' else matters and you can listen to it over and over because of the quality in their vocals as well as their natural beauty! Oh how our music has taken a wrong turn, choosing gimmick over sheer talent! What a shame!

  • @ImALilMuch It's a shame that this day and age has resorted to near nudity just to sell a CD. Sad! I agree with you!

  • This version is better than The Eagles.... I miss the old school =-(

  • i love this .

  • now this is good & real music that means something

  • #54 pop #22 r&b

  • This is my song right here! I remember me & my sister used to blast this song almost every night during our senior year of high school

  • nice cos i can't tell u why !!

  • Ah, soul music.

  • These girls can really sing. All of their songs are classicly beautiful!

  • love,love,love!

    06.2010

  • I love them!!! Wat went wrong!!

  • First time I've heard of them. Awesome voices. Got to buy the mp3 file of this song.

  • OMG!?!? Such lovelyness.

There is truly something special etched within the souls and voices of Blk folks.

  • @mooncooninc83 Very true.

  • i only found brownstone recently but they will always be with me where ever i go from the lows to the high they cover it all ..

  • I was a Freshman in High School when this came out.. and I love it even more than I did way back when!!!!!!!!! I wish this group and others from the 90's would come back!!!!!

  • This is the Eagles remixed for RNB but I do love brownstone, in the 90's all i wanted to do was get older, but now can we just go back to 96 or 97 the clothes were sensible. And your boyfriend made your stomach have little butterflies and the world felt fabulous.

  • this is one group that needs to hit the chart again. this song has so much meaning in it and I just love what it represents, relationships love a womens understanding in loving a man that is so distant in the relationship.

  • Great Eagles remake..

  • How was this NOT a hit?!?!?!?! Why does crap 2day gets more play than this?!

Now I Can't Tell You Why

  • I love this song.

  • sum sangin sistas.

  • @deadling13 alot of people dont know michael jackson put these chicks on the map

  • I so loved this version when it came out....like jsull said, I'm so glad I was a teenager in the 90's!

  • jsull81079 and aalcazar707 is right 80 early 90;s are good r&b music Keith Washington, mint condition and of course al b sure and many many more

I'm from NYC do anyone remember video music box and bobby simmons

  • @Stacey11216 hell yeah i remember vidoe music box !!! i used to record it everday after school until i started recording it off of bet in the 90's bet was the shit , ralf mcdaniels was the man

  • i still have this song & a whole bunch of other 90s songs on vhs tapes. i need to record them on dvd.

    90s had the best music!!!

  • Miss these sistas and the POWERHOUSE that was their harmony. Reminded me of the Emotions, Jones Girls, those trios where each member SANG. And JADE too? Those were my girls.

  • I still have this cd.

  • Music aint shit now!!!!!!! Man i miss this kind of music!!!!

  • SWEEEEEET!!!

  • oh my goodness i never knwe they did this!!!! this is so beautiful and i still love the original but this is beautiful!!!

  • This is the kind of music that defines RnB, n i don't care wat the kids listen to nowadays. u can't convince me with crap like Chris Brown coz he sucks, jus my oppinion....

  • loved this remake. nice vocals

  • I miss u brownstone as well as other 90 artist...so sad what the music industry has come to.

  • @hule1186 so true!!! they all need to come back!

  • this song is so 90's love it so much, so smooth and sensual

  • This song is fire !

  • @UN_SUPERfical

    i love dis track 2 ;

    omqee -

  • one of the best girl groups of all time and i just love this song sooooo much.

  • They did THAT!

  • how can i download this video to my Ipod Touch, so i can do the eliptical machine and jam

  • the latest real player has a converter on it - can convert to different formats and load to various devices

  • i like the original more.... this one is cool, just a little over done

  • its not supposed to sound EXACTLY the same...its a R&B cover.

  • @stewxl I'm sorry but I disagree, nothing can be over done when it comes to Brownstone.

  • Ma come è stato possibile pensare per tanti anni che i neri dovessero essere considerati "inferiori": voci meravigliose, grandi atleti. Quasi quasi mi dispiace essere bianco ... GREAT

  • A song like this would never see the light of day as a single these days...which is a damn shame, because this was GREAT R&B Music. I'm so glad I came of age in the 90's, when R&B was GREAT. These days, the likes of Trey Songz is what passes for decent R&B, another damn shame. There is a ray of light, hopefully Monica's new song "Everything to me" is a hit, and ushers in a new era of classic, talented, R&B singers. HOPEFULLY. I so miss the 90's as far as music goes (sigh).

  • @jsull81079 Yes I hope to see this trend come back...recent songs(Everything to me, It kills me, The One) show that soul may be coming back to the forefront

  • @jsull81079 good points, it's all about something fast talking about sex and also to dumb down the public, SAD!!

  • @jsull81079 Couldn't have said it better myself. I don't even listen to the radio I just listen to my cd's from the 90's and I did buy Monica's Still Standing album.

  • @jsull81079 I totally agree this was great music.

  • @jsull81079 please don't get me started on these so-called artists that are passing themselves as being singers. And that's being generous...back then we had them all, "sangers", "balladeers", "crooners", even "whisperers" who could put it down but unfortunately, for whatever reason, was unable to continue on. There were so many singers during that time that it was hard to separate themselves from one another. Now, we're pickin' and choosin' and havin' to settle what's out there. A Shame!

  • @aalcazar707 PREACH ON!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jsull81079

i agree completely, but don't forget about usher's there goes my baby, there still might be hope!!

  • @onn8582002 good point, but even with that, Usher is a product of 90's R&B himself, thats why he's one of the artists that can be considered LAST HOPE!

  • @markothurman problem is they main stream does not support a lot of the 80's 90 r&B stars. for example, Al B Sures Hi Honey I'm Home CD, WOW!!. check it out for yourself, you'll see.

  • @jsull81079 So true, so true.

  • This song was the bomb btw!

  • I LUV DISSSS SOOOOONGGG!!!!!!! sTIll my JOinT

  • This song was and still is the bomb! I remember loving it back in the day and still loving it to this current day in time and guess what I CAN TELL U WHY...ITS BROWNSTONE THAT'S WHY! gotta love it!

  • Their voice is flawless......

  • Man I remember hearing dis song growing up as a kid in 1990s on the radio. I was probably 7 or so, but I have an excellent memories of the 1990s since that was my favorite decade EVER!!!

  • Good & Soulful Remake. I Love It.

  • real singing with real meaning!!!! aww takes me back to 6th or 7th grade. i was a youngster then, but they were jamming!!!

  • me too:)

  • interesting, this sounds different from the album. i guess they did some more mixing - on either the album version or video version. still love the song. i still love that album. i listen to it regularly.

  • I always thought that one with the braids had the most beautiful voice although the other light-skinned chick was the "lead" singer. I guess...

  • Not really Nicci Gilbert(short hair) was kinda more like the lead in the group, but they all shared it really. But Nicci had the most powerful voice of the three

  • @uniquesongstress: you're right... Nicci had the biggest voice and that's what made her the lead, I just preferred listening to the one with the braids; there was just something so smooth and effortless about her vocals.

  • I forgot how beautiful their harmony was together. They KILLED this song at the end. I still LOVE this version!

  • vERY NICE SOUND

  • this is my song!!!

  • Can we please stop comparing every singer to Beyonce? Beyonce is so over rated. You can add rihanna and cassie to that list too. I'm sick of all of them. LOL. Oh, I LOVE BROWNSTONE. I have both their classic albums.

  • I agree!!

  • I have always loved them! I truly wish they were back! True artists!!!! I never tire of their sound, no matter how old their songs are. xo forever

  • See you soon.

  • Don't think so hard, it's going to get better in time.

  • Thsi three women are my pure divas forever. They all had excellent talent.

  • They dont make women rnb groups like this anymore.

  • Wow, love the Eagles, and this is just as good as the original, but they made it their own in a very good way.

  • I feel emotional listening to this ballard.

Beyonce does not make me feel the emotion no matter what she sings.

Brownstone did not get their recognition!!

  • These ladies turned it out in this song! Love it!!

  • I SO loved this group! Each lady brought something different to the group, they all had their own uniqueness to throw in :)

Is it me, or has anyone else ever noticed that THIS version is different from the CD version?

Of COURSE you all have, lol! Still love it!

  • Beautiful! All are great vocalists!

  • pues bueno

  • I always loved this cover. I wonder if the guy from the Eagles approved?

  • If you were an artist in the 90's and where considered a "One Hit Wonder", please know that you will always be remembered. Music has taken a nose dive and this is my only Saving Grace to keep my fix for good music. If it weren't for You Tube, I would be resorting back to my LPs and Tapes!! This IS REAL music! Children and young adults of the 90's Unite and do not forget these artists who may not have received the acclaim they should have been given.

  • @aalcazar707 AMEN!!!! U said dat!!!

  • @aalcazar707 the best music came from those era's, i still get goose bumps when ever i hear these songs...yes thank you Youtube coz i don't know where i'd go to get these songs if you weren't hia...lol :-)

  • @hunz81 You know it! I can name quite a list of artists that have graced the airwaves with their vocals and sounds. As jsull81079 said, Trey Songz is so far the best that we can do as far as decent singers. Take him back to the '90's and he wouldn't even make the JV squad! Seriously! I'll take Case over a Trey Songz, Deborah Cox over an Ashanti, Intro over a Day 26 (really?!!) You see what we workin' with for the new millenium? I can't even name a decent group for this generation. So sad!

  • @aalcazar707 I FEEL YOU ON THAT!

  • @aalcazar707 Class! It's Time. Respectful and mindful of virtue. Beautiful sisters, and strong vocals.
