  • I heard that one of tyler the creator's songs was in this movie. Is it true?

  • wow this movie really was worth watching

  • DADINHO É O CARALHO!!

  • One of the best films i have ever seen. Trust me, i know about good movies.

  • Dadinho é o caralho meu nome agora é zé pequeno porra *-* épico

  • one of the best movies ive ever watched but shity trailer :D

  • one of the greatest films, indeed!!!

    i just saw it!!!

  • I find it weird that all the trailers are shit, but the film itself was fucking awesome. But, if you watch the movie, watch the original version. English just ruins it.

  • @ShaxAMV White people kill each other, arabs kill each other, asians kill each other, latinos kill each other. Why do you have to be a racist piece of shit? This movie happens to be about black people killing each other. Killing doesn't only exist in "poor nigger communities". Quit going out of your way to be an ignorant, racist piece of shit.

  • A great film. The TV show is incredible also, and it is available on DVD.

  • This is actually a horribley overated film. Its pretty much 2 hours of nigger children killing each other and selling drugs, i mean i like watching kids getting tortured and killed as much as the next guy but its not my idea of fine cinema.

  • @whiner00 There's a good reason why we chose not to see and ignore, because it's fucking depressing. Why would people deliberately revel in that kind of misery? It exists in poor nigger communities let them fucking kill each other and deal with it, we don't need to know about it.

  • @ShaxAMV so why u on here watchin this????????

  • @vonguerrero to comment?

  • @ShaxAMV You know, Aflred Hitchcock used to always say you should never shoot a child on camera for the sake of film. I think it's kind of sadistic for these filmmakers to break that boundary, but at the same time...How else will mankind realize their true nature if 75% of them don't even know the horrific violence occurring outside of their own countries.

  • @massivecrown Lol 99% of the people that watch and "know" about the violence that goes on won't actually do anything about it except feel depressed for like a day or two. You see that shit on the news, niggers killing each other, big surprise. You don't need to make a movie about it and label it entertaining, I mean if you find it entertaining that's cool, but I just think it's gotten more credit than it deserves.

  • when i heard the guys voice,i thought i was watching the Hercules opening

  • Wow just saw this movie, what an awesome film. One of my favorites of all time probably. It's not the kind of movie you can watch over and over again because most of the content is very gritty with alot of child violence. But really really great movie nonetheless.

  • wasn´t even nominated for best foreign language film at the academy awards, probably because it wasnt a fag fairytale musical

  • not a great movie, it's a great film

  • Brazil is the greatest fucking country in the world in my opinion, and I'm part french!

  • brazil is fucking amazing

  • good movie and all but still shows brazil is an absolute shit hole.

  • @VVakaFlockaFlame where are you from???

    probably from some bitchass country!!!

  • Piece of art.

  • please tell me whats the name of the song in the movie the last song?

  • @sempoi3660 "Metamorfose ambulante" from brazilian singer "Raul Seixas"

  • one of the best movies ever

  • The narrator ruins the trailer...

  • @DantesPanties Maybe if the narrator had a sexy voice...

  • Welcome to the city of god estuary 1960

  • brazil so dangerous country

  • @12345pooification Thumbs up if Tyler the Creator didn't bring you here.

  • what does the movie have to do with the title?

  • @frank0067 I don't know if you were bring sarcastic, but the favela (ghetto) in Brazil were this took place is actually called The City of God.

  • @frank0067 the city name in the movie is City of God

  • @frank0067 The name of the neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro is Cidadede Deus (city of God).

  • is it me or does the American voice over not seem right for this films trailer?

  • The story described in the trailer is only the last 45 or so minutes everything before that is the building of the crime bosses.

  • @12345pooification fuck you u fuking prick of a cunt dis is a movie about the hard times growin up on the streets and seeing crime as the only way to make a living fuck tyler the creator he dont even know what the streets are about

  • BY far the greatest film that came out this century and the most important

  • brazil is so dangerous country to live

    I scared

  • @arsenalli21 hahaha no it's not, that's just a movie. Favelas r dangerous, the rest is amazing ;)

  • @LAINYTAVARES ok, ic

  • Comment removed

  • @LAINYTAVARES this represents a favela (city of god) in year 60 and 80, and not just a movie, is based on real history, the history of the city of God, was removed from the deposition of the main character (not sure how his name is out there) do not know how to and was voiced in the United States but says that in the film. se liga porra

  • @MrReygui i meant it's an old truth, city of god i not like that anymore and most of the favelas r not either. Brazil might not the the most safe place in the world, but it's not like it was b4. E pode deixar q eu essa porra eu conheço bem ;)

  • @arsenalli21 No, its not... only Rio de janeiro and Sao Paulo are dangerous, the rest of the country is pacific, do not rely too much on the media. also this year 60% of the Favelas of Rio de Janeiro were pacified.

  • FOURCHAAAAAAAAAN

  • @12345pooification wtf i am down with OF but to come here and almost disrespect the film (makers) by saying that. you should know this film without tyler sending you bum sucks here no disrespect to tyler. he is pushing a good movement and his music is one of the most refreshing things in hip-hop/rap/music atm but he has a bag'a gay fans

  • The best movie of the 200os and one of the best ever made. This is why I love Brazilians!

  • I watched this in my Deviance class and was Amazed. This is one of THE BEST movies I've ever seen and it's based on a true story.

  • I LOOVED the soundtrack!! Bought the CD right after i left de cinema here in Portugal back in 2003 when it was released.

  • @rattlingfangs its called a foreign film

  • @wiseguy472 "La teta asustada", "Los viajes del viento", "La vendedora de rosas", "El paloquito", "La historia oficial", "María llena eres de gracia", "La estrategia del caracol". I can go on all day with more...

  • It seems to me like this is no ordinary film, despite its english title, it is in Portuguese.

  • @Fanofcartoons1994 Its title is Cidade de Deus, City Of God is just the English translation.

  • @93MickyD1 Agree with you, same thing happened with me at my university I kept insisting we watch this movie and everyone was complaining because it wasn't in English. Fucking assholes!

  • this is what I call 'movie'

  • didnt know Pablo francisco did the voice over for this trailer.

  • BENNNNYYYYY!

  • Some people asked. The music that plays at the end is called "Metamorfose Ambulante" is a rocker named Raul Seixas, one of Brazil's most famous musicians.

  • If you're interested in other films about corruption in the Brazilian favelas, try Elite Squad. The new one, Elite Squad: The Enemy Within comes out in the US in November. The director is also doing the new Robocop movie.

  • One of my former bosses told me to watch this. After hearing it was subtitled I was skeptical. About 20 minutes into the movie I was even more skeptical. By the end I considered it one of the greatest movies i've ever seen. A masterpiece.

Funny thing is i've made 5-6 people watch this, ALL of them thought it wouldn't be good based off the subtitles and first 15-20 minutes just like me, and just like me they loved it by the ending.

  • Like this if tyler the creator brought you here

  • the best non-English film I have never seen....

  • Metamorfose Ambulante ♥

  • kool movie!!

  • lol remnids me of the favela

  • Great Movie. Probably the best foreign language movie, I have seen.

The sequel wich I did not even know existed is on tonight, hope its as good as the first movie.

  • @maliksali City of Men is not a sequel of City of God. It's a spin-off. They made a series for TV called City of Men and the movie is the conclusion of the series.

  • @maliksali City of Men is not a sequel of City of God. It's a spin-off. They made a series for TV called City of Men and the movie is the conclusion of the series.

  • @murilodelmondes

You're right, thanks for the reply.

  • Tyler the Creator- Analog.

  • The best Non-English film i have ever seen..

  • @rattlingfangs me too man...

  • @rattlingfangs Non-English film? how is that a way to reference ANYTHING. Moron.

  • @rattlingfangs Something tells me this is the ONBLY non-English film you ever saw. My response would be to watch more movies, faggot. City of God is great, but it's far from best (not that far, though).

  • Comment removed

  • @rattlingfangs so you haven't seen much then... watch some Czech movies from the 70's... I personally, was amazed, lately...

  • @rattlingfangs Have you checked out the site for Elite Squad: The Enemy Within yet? It's from the screenwriter of City of God, Bráulio Mantovani, and director José Padilha.

  • @rattlingfangs Not hard. Most English films suck major cocks anyway.

  • awful trailer. awesome movie.

  • Who ever thought Brazilians were such savage animals

  • @Suburbannite You could go to any slum in the world and find the same shit

  • @Suburbannite You can't generalize because in every country there is always a group of people doing evil.

  • @MsWagt this is true every city every nation theres evil.. but it doesnt end there... that was the individual understanding how about the national understanding ..

how much evil makes up that nation? in comparision to others.

  • @putonekas agreed

  • the trailer has nothing to do with the movie besides a few irrelevent scenes...this is like a brasillianb version of menace to society/boyz n the hood

  • For the fans of the film here, I've heard on Vanguard a program on Current TV, Cidade de Deus is far better now since this film was released. But the problem still persists in Rio
