@j4bigtyme ...Biggie, no disrespect man, but technically a "cover" is a song performed by whomever of another artist's work... I Don't Give a Damn is the Major's slightly reworked poem but put to my own original music (not that it's that original). But thaaaaaaaanks for your support and enthusiasm. I don't play out, so comments from friends and others are a wonderful encouragement.
Hi, this version is really... wow! The sound and tone of your voice brings out the frustration the southern states must have experienced after the defeat.
You should make a studio version and put in on itunes man, seriously!
That is a perfect versin of Good Ol` Rebel - bitter words ,wonderfull music and the cool little Bird perhaps he`s from the Black Hills it`s a Freebird ,All the best to ya Jamoof and thank you for your nice Video .
You know, this really is one of the best versions I've ever heard of this song because of the accurate expression and the way it lends historical accuracy with emotional truth. Idon't know, this may become one of the classic versions of it over time...it could. I can tell you, I will always have this in my mental files as something significant.
I love your version of this because the emotion behind the words just never quite went with the "hopping" music. When I play it on my violin, I play it slower than the traditional so the mood of the words isn't minimized. Yeah, good job.
I tend to like the more traditional tune associated with this song but yours isn't bad at all. I believe the major was a topographical engineer during the War.
The birds and whisteling were a perfect ending. Good job, thanks for uploading this.
