I'm 27, picked up this album the day it came out and I JUST got the full message of this song today after about what seems like the 300th time listening to this album. Alanis, you're amazing.
I've worshipped Alanis Morissette since "Jagged Little Pill"--her first Album. There is no way now or ever I will abandon her. Even if she became the vilest thing on the face of this earth!!!! Oh, and for the unknown masses to her music-- "Under Rug Swept" was her most brillaint album to this date!!!! Check out "You Owe Me Nothing In Return" from this latter album.... you'll be amazed at the contents and to how powerful and philosophic her words are in regards to the HUMAN CONDITION!!!!!!!!
@Phydido... Hey, you are right! 'Alanis' was her first album, followed by 'Now Is The Time'. I am aware... but these albums were never released in the United States; only in Canada. So for me and most people her first album was... 'Jagged Little Pill'. But thanks for mentioning it!!

I love watching her writing this on Feast On Scraps...she actually breaks down in front of the camera...it is really big to see her cry in front of her fans on that scene!

I saw the bird show today and I knew it sounded like Alanis. Anyways, I was disappointed that the lyrics in the condor video was in American English instead of Alanis' native Canadian English. I am referring to this lyric- "you hid away from much humor" should have been humour instead of "humor"
@Cereghini if u get the album/dvd Feast On Scraps, you can see Alanis on the dvd as she was writing this song...she breaks down crying, very touching moment on the DVD...the dvd is a behind the scenes of this album, interviews and also her concerts from all over and doing music from this and albums past
