  • Why are rock crowds so still now?

  • Why was this never a single??? It freakin ROCKS!!!

  • Kurt loved this song alot! Imagine this with Cobains lytrics EPIC!

  • Reminds me of being 15 again! What a record!

  • Fuck Kurt supposedly wanting to write lyrics for this song. Metronome, I want out, I'm Alone + I'm an Easy Target.

  • Thanks for uploading this!!

  • i love the 1995 dave grohl

  • @VictorC53 its the same one

  • dislike? your a fucking faggot period......

  • Imagine if Nirvana lasted and dave and kurt worked on these songs?! Best albums to come ever!!! Music would be wayyy different than what it is now. Real and Rocking still! :) Grunge!

  • Love the 1st album

  • Captures the legacy of nirvana, with its raw energy. Long live nirvana and the foos!!!

  • Dave looks loads taller than he is now,

  • @corpsemunger I think it's just because he was a skinny little guy back then. He's pretty buff nowadays and a little fuller in the face, so I think that's why he doesn't look so much like a 90's goofball anymore.

  • @RHCPFitz Yeh thats right, the beard makes his face wider also.

  • @corpsemunger yea the beard...yea...never thought that was a good idea..:P

    Nah jk

He's awesome man! And this song still rocks!

  • @RHCPFitz Goofball? Calling someone a goof is just as ignorant as calling them "clown" . Those are ignorant fucking words, and usually fighting words. Unsure if you know this. Also, Mr Grohl can wear his clothing and hair any way he wants and still look and be ten billion times cooler than you could dream to be. Any straight man wouldnt talk about hair and clothes during a rock video fucksakes, just saying. Im female, and even i dont give a fuck. Clothes dont make the man. Grow up, douche-mouth.

  • @rawkgawdez You could sure use a few lessons in kindness, common sense, and sense of humor from Mr. Dave.

  • @RHCPFitz -- you insulted him. not me. im sure he would agree that i am correct in saying clothes dont make the man...as he is a free spirit and has a huge heart. yet, you drool over his masterpiece and insult his look. you are foul. calling dave grohl a goof. a prick you are. call the man a goof, i dare ya to his face...and see how long till he shoves his axe up your ass. fan fail supreme. get out get out get out

  • @rawkgawdez first you say :Mr Grohl can wear his clothing and hair any way he wants and still look and be ten billion times cooler than you could dream and then you say i dont care bout clothing and every straight man doesnt..... makes no fucking sense. pat always pays alot of attention to his clothes and he is a fucking punk/rock god. you can find it on youtube if you search for a while and you take dave a bit too much in your defense. he can defend himself if he wanted to. he just doesnt care

  • @MartenWesterhof step1- change your tampon, settle down. step2- re-read my comment, for you got it all wrong. step3- hear this! I said straight men dont come to a rock page and "comment",,,> COMMENT <...thats right! COMMENT on the gods clothing. I never said "not care in general ever" but fucking comment...so you got that wrong. As for "take dave a bit too much" i dont even know what the hell that means. step4- learn English, come back and clean your messy garbabble. step5- zip it, & rock on.

  • @corpsemunger No he's just skinnier in the video.

  • @Incubus941 duh - Note how I said "looks" not "is"...

Do you honestly think that I thought he had shrunk! haha

  • First album was more 90's grunge, pure music inspired by the days he was a drummer for one of the worlds best bands.

  • Forget everything else they've done the first album is amazing

  • @94loveallmusic Actually, Dave played the 1e Album by himself.

  • @GAdawgsfan93 No he's not gay. He's metrosexual. I thought the same thing until I saw the documentary Back and Forth. He actually has a wife and I think a daughter.

  • The new album is about as close as Dave's come 2 matching the intensity of the first album. Quick question that I've been wondering: Is Pat Smear gay? When I hear him talk, he just gives off that vibe.

  • Comment removed

  • Is that Pat Smear??

  • @tmantonym yup

  • best song off their best album.....have to say though, wasting light is sounding pretty fucking amazing.....the most consistent they'vew done since this flawless effort.

  • The sad thing is though, when Dave passes, rock will be truly dead. Rock has been on life support since Kurt in 94' and when Dave goes, its pretty much dead. no band compares to Nirvana or Foo's.

  • @DaHazzMan have faith....rock n roll will never die. something will come up.

  • @DaHazzMan foo's dont compare to nirvana. and dude, do your homework.

  • @Kumoxi This does

  • @DaHazzMan Don't be ridiculous - There is loads of awesome rock music around today other than Foo's -

  • @DaHazzMan That's why Teenagers and overall people need to rise up and start making some badass and REAL music!

We need another Rock scene like the oldies did. Like Grunge

  • @manhuntruler2 if only...if only

  • @DaHazzMan We might still have Jack White....or Keith Richards considering he's immortal

  • @DaHazzMan don't say that, stay positive!!!

  • Why does the riff he use at the beginning sound so similar to serve the servants?

  • @Arcanepariah1

You said it while I was thinking hey, it kinda sounds similiar to server the servants xD Probably because it has the same chord progression i think?

  • A lot of Dave's songs were made by himself when he was with Nirvana but he was intimidated by Kurt. Don't blame Dave, he even asked the old bassist of nirvana to join Foo Fighters when they first started but they both decided it not to because they thought it would be insulting to themselves and the fans.

  • @whiteboy213cpv

No he wasnt, Kurt wanted to do something with Daves stuff but Dave thought they would be better off without it.

  • Was Dave Growl purposely playing his solo that shitilly? This dates way back and he does look pretty fucked up and it sounded terrible. Plus he got the old drummer and Pat Smear in there so for sure he's fucked outta his mind. Also at first you can hear the crowd boo a bit. It sounded terrible and the lights went dim. 2:55.

  • @crunkeith 1:20, ya the crowd looks bummed

  • This song is awesome. The beginning of Foo Fighters.

  • God I miss these days!

  • Who's the drummer?

  • @AudioslavedBeast William Goldsmith. Original Foo Fighters drummer.

  • Headbang? 0:22

  • what is the type of guitar pat is playin? it looks like an sg, but idt its one.

  • @valeo1993 Hagstrom.

  • @DaveGrohl83340 yea its not a hagstrom. its a custom built guitar built by someone named Moser or Mosser.

  • love this song... AND serve the servants.

  • I don't know about you guys, but this makes me feel sad...What happened to good music? Does any one know of a good band that has this kind of calibre? if so, message me 'cause all this new bs that's been playing in the radio for the last 10 years is making me feel numb 0_0

  • @joules4batteries I'm working on it.

  • This was the second gig I ever went to! I remember buying the Foo Fighters' early singles in the summer of 1995, and sitting in school anticipating this gig for months before going! Pat Smear and William Goldsmith were both killer! I also saw the line-up with Taylor Hawkins on drums and Franz Stahl on guitar at Brixton and Shepherds Bush in 1997, and at the Ozzfest in Milton Keynes in 1998. Both of these line-ups were great live - shame neither of them ever did much recording together.

  • i thinkl this era of the foo's was by far..the strongest line up..and they produced the best live shows .....just listen to this andc then listen to that god awful "wheels"

  • this is the best era of foo fighters!!!

  • this is most "nirvana - like" FF song! and i heard kurt loved it!

  • william goldsmith eh!

  • the foo fighters where are and always will be the greatest band ever imo

  • Comment removed

  • They're amazing @_@!

    hala, paz!

  • @brandelmosca aahh bueno, no estaba seguro che... perdon... saludos...

  • Kurt liked this song ALOT! He only wanted to change the lyrics and chorus.

  • @RuudvanGOLL That verse kicks ass

  • @manhuntruler2

That dude's mistaken, he's thinking of 'exhausted'.

  • @RuudvanGOLL Imagine Kurt Cobain lyrics in this song! EPIC!!

  • @RuudvanGOLL so? kurt doesn't matter 17 years ago

    accept it please u.u

  • @RuudvanGOLL But chorus kicks ass, i would understand if he wanted to add or change the verse. But Kurt would have perfected Dave's demo tapes like no other!

    R.I.P Kurt Donald Cobain

  • You can't find that kind of crowd anymore... I wish I had been born like 15 years earlier..

  • same dude. I went to a Them Crooked Vultures concert. if they had played their songs like.. around this time. man it would've been sick. but every one just sat there bobbing their heads. this is my favorite foos show. mostly because it's all their old songs. 97.4% of their new songs blow.

  • It was the time man. I was at the Toronto show in May of 1995, it was the same thing - absolute chaos. It was the generation which these bands appealed to, which were all around my age at the time (14-17). Now the Foo's still appeal to those fans but they're much older (most of them anyways) and don't feel like moshing like that anymore.

  • You wouldnt..you would probably be complaining you were old now :P

  • im lovin these old school foo fighters live videos!

  • Metronome I want out

  • 0:23 shitt, Explosion!!

  • Comment removed

  • This is so nostalgic. I remember sitting in the back seat of my mom's van listening to this CD over and over again. I was a angry little grunge kid, haha. I'm married with two kids now, it's been over 15 years probably. I miss this.

  • His homo-friendly rock uniform.

  • lol i love the dude come on man the germs rocked but have to agree

  • esta es mi cancion favorita de foo fighters

y yo vi este concierto en mtv cuando tenia como 12 años

    aquellos viejos buenos tiempos

  • Foo Fighters sigue siendo igual de bueno, asi que nada de "viejos buenos tiempos"

  • dave allways has a gum, i love him xD

  • This was shown on MTV in 95', it is the Foo Fighters guaranteed.

  • This is because Alone + Easy Target is from the Foo Fighters' first album, that Dave Ghrol recorded by himself. The today's foo fighters members joined after this begining.

  • of course it's the foo fighters it's from their first album

  • i think Nirvana is better

  • BEST live video of this song I've found -

  • original line up is the best

  • is that pat smear

  • yeh he played guitar with foo fighters from 94 to 97 and left cos he thought there sound was becoming to comercial

  • he left cause he wanted a break from touring because he was getting older...for the commercial thing thats not true because he played with them on there acoustic tour(one of there most commercial tours and album)

  • kurt realy liked this song. Rip

  • Dave found this song re-written in one of Kurt's diaries after he died, I think he was a bit annoyed that kurt thought the lyrics weren't strong enough. But he couldn't really talk to him about it, because of the obvious....

  • best live band ever

  • i couldn't agree more, so much energy, awesome songs and played perfectly....superb.

  • i remember when mtv aired this concert .. such a good song, the first foo album is flawless start to finish

  • i remember it too......i actually recorded it on VHS, i gotta get it outta my basement and watch the whole thing. Best FOO performance by far, and their (can't really say their since Dave played all the instruments recording this album) best album by far

  • no, dave did all the shit on color and shape, not this one

  • According to Wikipedia, "Foo Fighters is the debut album by the Foo Fighters, recorded entirely by frontman Dave Grohl."

Sorry bro, last I checked "Alone + Easy Target" was on the self-titled album :-\

  • No if you had the album you could read on the sleve that Grohly recorded all the instuments himself except for a guitar part on X-static- which was done by a Mr Barrett of the Afgan Wings- another great band.

this song is on the debut self titled album

  • ya but i heard that Krist Novoselic played bass on Alone+Easy Target.

  • nope, maybe on the demo when it was going to be a nirvana song when krist and dave had two days in the studio...then kurt was supposed to come in but he died before they could fully record it..

it was still a dave grohl song though...

they also sessioned Exhausted kurt said he liked it but would change the lyrics.

  • no he did it all on the self titled, just drums guitar and vocals on the colour and the shape

  • You don't know what you're talking about.

  • i swear daves ALWAYS chewing gum... even to this day

  • to keep his throut moist[spelt it wrong]

  • I wasn't asking why... lol...

  • well i'm tellin' u any way, and idk

    lqtm

  • I saw foo 3 times back then, way better then now but that is alot of bands today.

back they even had a free concert outside of tower records in the parking lot we left school early it was crazy i miss those days....

  • lol @ some random dude got on stage to stage dive. (but didn't show the dive part)

  • Where can i download this concert!!! Its amazing :]

  • Look at the crowd going mental! haha!!! BRILLIANT

  • This album is the more grunge than they other albums

  • definitley actually this song and exhausted were maybe going to be on the nexst nirvana album

  • man what I would do to be at this gig!

  • like... foos are my favorite band. dave is my hero... I love all of their music but for some reason this is my favorite cd by them. the first one.-park

  • BRILLIANT!

  • Pat Smear love ..Cat Woman:P yeah Peace and Love

  • Amen to that!!

  • call me crazy...but this is my fav foo song

  • omg that does not look like dave grohl, he has changed alot in like 10 years haha ots sooo cooooooool :P xdD

  • when was this?

  • 15 November, 1995.

  • what's up with Pat's clothes, lol.

  • he borrowed Eddie Murphy's delirious outfit

  • kick ass!

  • This is fucking amazing...and the crowd did London proud.

  • Man this rocks so much harder than the newer stuff. They should make the next record like the first one

  • holy crap how awesome man..... talk about pat smear being a party animal....love the leather suit.......great song foo fighters keep up the good work.

  • The brixton concert is fuckin' amazing !

  • @thewarriors59 Kurt wanted to use this song with some different lyrics and bridge...imagine Kurt Cobain singing this awesome song? PRICELESS!

  • Kurt was supposed to be singling those but he's dead. Dave, why? WHY!!!! ;P

  • this concert was the day i turned 1

  • 1995 to 1998 Foo Fighters were better, than 1999 to 2008, idk if they'll be as bad as now in 2009.

  • dude are yougay foo fighters are amazing live ive seen them 3 times on the last tour

  • ok, i know i'm catch crap for this, but i agree '95 to '98 foo were better...they were much more raw, of course with the exception of a few later tunes...something about dave's naivete and insecurity during those early years gave him a raw edge...and i've seen the foo in concert recently--they really rock but the material was better earlier...my two cents...thanks

  • I fully support this post, it's so true.

  • amen to that

  • I think they were great during this tour, some performances wern't great but the atomsphere in the gigs were great + they performed these songs a hell of alot better with Pat + Will.

  • well then lets hear you do better

  • Will is a good drummer, he's got great upper body stengh which means he can get a good sound out of the drums. Taylor's good but he's not even as half as good as Dave was in Nirvana.

  • i agree, william was perfect for them on that tour, but i think taylor is the right guy for them now, theyre soft

  • Pat Smear is fucking God!!!

  • Georg Ruthemberg

  • no chance, william wasnt a good drummer at all, not compared to taylor and dave, and chris shiflett is was better than pat, sorry pat, hes awesome but chris is just a little better. but i agree first album was the best

  • taylor hawkins is way better than william i agree buttt pat smear is fucking sweet chris is just to boring on stage pats all over

  • you can just tell dave is purely nivarna in the old live performances haha

  • by far this is the best foo's album !! followed by the colour and the shapes!! in my opinion it goes by age with the foo's the older the better !!! BRING BACK PAT AND WILLIAM!!

  • agreed every song on the first album is amazing. I prefer it to the newer stuff. great band i just liked the edge of their youth

  • Man, you were reading my mind! The has always been my favorite song from FF. This album was brillant! Still all time favorite in my library. The day Pat left, the band changed and it wasn't for the good. Today's FF are just too clean and poppy for me. Bring back the originals.

  • you got that right, ke4nyv...the foo today is waaaaayyyy too mainstream and poppy; not grungy at all

  • Foo fighters are insane. this is a great album and a great song. I think that this is one of the top three greatest foo's albums. this being number 3. in your honor being number 2, and there is nothing left to lose being 1. the color and the shape was alright but It was a little boring to me and same with one by one. the new album ESPAG is a good record but not my favorite!!

  • good performance, excellent guitar riff. Kick ass when the drums come in. Chorus is very good here, Grohl really feels it.

*Check Loose Ground for some new Rock/Grunge*

  • I still have this on VHS, back at my parents house. I recorded it off mtv the night before thankstaking of '96

  • Dave has actually stated in interviews that Kurt loved this song and had intentions of using it, but with different lyrics...it would have been neat to see what he'd have fit to the music...

  • no i just listened 2 that interview, Dave stated that Kurt loved this song, but...kurt liked exhausted and that song he wanted 2 change with his own lyrics, kurt just liked the chorus in this one and wanted 2 experiment with it
