it's heavily modded, it doesn't have much of the golf left in it. Huge turbo and some nice engine work to keep it spooled and it revs up pretty high from the sound of engine. Then suspension is heavily tuned...not many FWD cars can do this with so much power in the corner.

I don't know for US, but in europe there was e 4 WD version of the VR6 : Sycro 2.9 (190 hp). Basicaly this was such a version, he could not the power and the corners otherwhise. By the way, a good pilot don't need a spectacular car to beat an amateur even if he drives a Murcielago or 911 turbo...
