  • "DICTATOR" was in NO WAY the equivalent of "KING"...

  • Are you insane? Caesar greatest general? Alexander, Napoleon, Hannibal in any order, but no one before them unless you want to argue about modern generals like Guderian, Patton, Manstein who people give far too little credit: the type of war modern generals fight is infinitely more complex and is fought against much more equally equipped and led armies than pre-moderns ever fought. My favorite 3 never, save alexander once, fought a truly fair fight. Germany holding Russia until 45 was amazing

  • @PatrickEngSU most of the time ,one army has better equipement or better trained soldiers or an advantage of some kind

  • 1:Gaius Julius Caesar

    2:Alexander

    3:Gustav II adolf

  • Say what you want about Caesar's genius, he was an asshole lol

  • @leegeorgeson NO his not his my hero!!! he was not like other roman generals or leaders the most generals would kill the ememy leader but caesar was mercefull!

  • why Alexander at no. 1? I would say Caesar or Napoleon where better leaders

  • @Iversen1986 well.....Caesar,Alexander and Napoleon were all great generals ,no doubt.....they're work is known throught the history....but....it is our choise who we will consider no. 1....some may choose Alexander(same do I),some Napoleon and the others Caesar;

  • Nice documentary film. Learned alot

  • He was killed in Pompey's theater which also had as part of its building plan a senate house in the back. So perhaps the confusion is coming from that, Pompey's senate house may not have been the main one, but it was being used during the renovation.

  • @LukeLukeandTheJonJon

That is why they were conveneing in Pompey's theater, because the Senate house was being rebuilt after being burned down.

  • Awesome documantairy :) Julius is my new name from now on hahaha

  • thanks, i enjoy all your vids so I subscribed :)

  • Thanks for this vid. I loved the music and narration. I didnt know brian cox narated it lol.

    He played agamemnon in TROY.

  • a political genius, cheers for the vids ;)

  • Thanks for that. title is misleading though as there's not enough on the Alesian battle and there's too much on Caesar's outside matters.

  • Not in the Senate house. It was under renovation during that time.

Caesar was killed at Pompey's Theater.

  • Ceazar was stabbed to deatf in the senate house!!

  • @GajusJuliusCezaris I have read that he was killed in the senate house and I have read that the senate house was being worked on at the time so the senate was temporally meeting at a theatre and it was there that the assassination of Cesar took place. I can't under stand the confusion? Some Roman historian must have written down where their beloved Cesar was killed?

  • Thanks for the video.
