  • Man that Bassoon is sexy. Love the color.

  • music is a language this man speaks fluently lol

  • i never understood what makes someone want to pick up as bassoon as a child... looks so awkward and cumbersome... makes a beautiful sound when you know how to use it though

  • I am teaching myself how to play the bassoon, and this inspires me greatly! Ths eound is so beautiful! Ahhhh! Gorgeous!

  • nice instrumnet the bassoon :)

  • wow compared to my tone, this guy is incredible

  • BASSOON!!!!!!!!!

    Bassoons are AWESOME

  • @24mckobe dude come on this isn't necessary. if you dont have anything nice to say, go say it somewhere else, instead of showing off your ignorance for the world to see. its just embarrassing, for you

  • @24mckobe this isn't gay, it's helpful and if you don't play a classical instrument or just an instrument at all then you are missing out. How someone can simply be content with just listening to music and not want to make it i have no idea but because you don't want to doesn't mean you have the right to call the people who do want to gay just because the instrument they want to make music on is not the "popular" instruments or "cool" instruments.

  • Beautiful instrument.

  • I want more of these master classes! His technique is so clean and beautiful! Thank you.

  • i played marriage of figaro last year... i got my ass kicked.

  • @us237 oh wow

  • vampire

  • hes cute

  • So I JUST picked up the bassoon today and... Holy crap o.O I mean, I play bari sax usually, but holy shit sticks, that's amazing!

  • How cute:)

  • does anyone know what kind of reed he uses?

  • @MoonlightArsenica lots of bassoonists make thier own reeds, so it might be a custom reed that he made

  • Wow, is everyone from Europe a homophobe?

  • why do double reed players always move so much when they play?

  • @electrogeek1996 not just double reed players, wach a symphony preformance you will notice that all the players move and sway

  • @TheRegulated well. it is mostly woodwind instrument and double reeds the most of them all, is what I am saying.

  • @electrogeek1996 ist a bassoon thing, we tend to really get into the music

  • @electrogeek1996 cause we get the emotion of wanting to dance ;) i play tener sax

  • His tone is AMAZING!!!

  • what a fucking babe !

  • a bassoon in dutch is called something like a faggot

  • @jillisn yeah, i think it's faggoti.

  • accent is sexy :)

  • could someone send me this music

  • If you don't play bassoon you won't truly understand that this man is great at bassoon. He is where he is because he is great. Bassoon is horribly difficult to get to a point where performing on bassoon is even possible.

  • @kas8970 its not that embarrasing

  • @kas8970 I don't play bassoon, but i want to, and i was wondering what is so hard about it?

  • @bjlok330 your embouchure is constantly changing as you play low notes to high notes. If you don't have proper embouchure, you sound like a dying duck. no joke. You also notice he is playing with a neckstrap, which is extremely hard.

  • @kas8970 In my opinion, I think wind instruments are the hardest to play. As a string player, I have respect for every wind instrument players, regardless of their "level" or how good they are. Just like any other instrument, it takes serious dedication and motivation (as cheesy as that sounds).

  • im so sorry man, you are good but its nothing special :/

  • his sound like me! veeery good!

  • he sound like me! veeery good!

  • hairy chest

  • "I will play da excerpt for you now."

    hott

  • Een Nederlander JEEEUUUJJ!!!

  • i play a bassoon and i hope i can play like him someday

  • damn he is fine. . . and i love the bassoon.

  • and he plays the bassoon very well. i love this instrument!

  • love his accent...hes hot LOL :P :)

  • Heckel 41i by chance?

  • 3:07-3:12 awkward moment much?

  • @ItHasBeats hahaha me and some co workers have been cracking up about this for 10 minuets then saw your comment

  • @ItHasBeats I wonder what he was thinking about.

  • "the accents, and the DUTS, and the sluuhs"

  • ...I've already done six things to him in my head...but anyway he really knows his stuff,he's a great talent...

  • Oh, I liked this so much (both bassoon and bassoonist, I must say). Congratulations for being capable of that, I hope some day I can do it too.... (I'm still an amateur, I play the bassoon, or at least I try to play it since last summer, so... I'd better be patient).

  • i play a basic bassoon (school instrument) and it sound nothing like that :(

  • I really need a Bassoon. I am currently a saxophone player but I love the bassoon and I've been playing alot of Bassoon Exerpts with my Baritone Saxophone. Could someone tell me how similar Saxophones are to Bassoons, and could such a transition be easy?

  • @BeowulfVids i played alto for 6 years and just recently switched to the bassoon...there are three major things... one is a new clef. two is the difference between a mouthpiece and a double reed and third is fingerings... however its a very rewarding change i love this instrument

  • @BeowulfVids Its not that different, i played bari for a semester in community college. I switched to bassoon from flute. the only difference would be the reed for you. however sax to bassoon is one of the easiest transitions. just get a teacher rather than teaching yourself. =]

  • @BeowulfVids If it were easy, no one would play it.

  • another of my favourite instruments! Alright. . . I LOVE all instrument (unless I had never heard it ; )

  • Gorgeous sound! *Sigh*

  • looks soooooooooooo difficult!!!

  • hottest bassoon player ever.

  • i love his accent lol

  • lol I like he moves with it

  • that sounds beautiful!

  • i have same reed!!!

  • 5:17 - 5:57

If melting gold had a sound, it would sound like Joost Bosdijk's bassoon.

  • @SuffocatedSong My heart was melted by the minute 5:36

  • I really like the way your bassoon sounds. I have a school student Schreiber and it sounds different, makes a strange noise like a harrumph, is it because of the bassoon or because of the reed or is the way I blow? can you please give me an advice?

  • @SuffocatedSong And if melting gold had a look, i would look like Joost !

  • @SuffocatedSong I agree.

  • @SuffocatedSong /watch?v=wLoo8jHL4RA&list=UU7pisxJgpsZB1TJARkIE_Ig&feature=plcp

  • Makes a very complex piece seem simpler by breaking it down into two or three

note segments. A beautiful sound from a beautiful instrument. One or two

minutes of playing equate to years of learning and many hours of practice.

    Beautifully done.

  • @Toast579 Lol ditto! :D

  • What type of bassoon does he play on?

  • @emotsunami13 modern

  • @DRCxGFX lol funny... i meant brand and such?

  • i guess im not the only one who sweats when they play :)

  • So talented, and Joost is so dreamy!

  • @KaiTehNinjaGuy To bad he is a complete fag.

  • @Squid165 Your grammar is bad, boy! To call a bassoonist a fag (-> fagott -> fagottist) is quite appropriate for any polyglott person!

  • @verso69 I was saying, that its unfortunate that he is a talented bassoonist, but also a homosexual. A waste of a man.

  • @Squid165 WHAT??? HES GAY??? OMG he needs to call me :))

  • @Squid165 Well, I suppose he is a talented bassoonist BECAUSE he is gay. It is well known, that homosexual men have a better neuronal communication betweeen the two brain hemispheres. And he is certainly not wasted :-)

  • @Squid165 How rude of you. He is no waste of a man no matter of his sexuality. He has fufilled a purpose by playing beautifully on his bassoon and giving music to the world, even you are aware of that. Just because he's a homosexual doesn't make him any lesser or better than you are.

  • @Squid165 You're a waste of a human being by being a bigoted dickwad.

  • his neckstrap makes mine (tenor sax neckstrap from mills, tch.) seem inferior.

-weeps- and his bassoon is so pretty! the wood is soooo lustrous...amazing tone, too. i have a B&H 400, the tone is pretty good (for a highschool student) but his is so smooth! sooo gorgeous. sounds like chocolate...:)

  • Joost Bosdijk♥

  • im looking at the Scheherazade excerpt....either they didnt upload the right part or he played the wrong one, because they dont match

  • @pwatt45 He played the solo in the beginning of the 2nd mvt, the YTSO asks for the cadenza in the middle of the mvt. Also, the Figaro excerpt is from a different place. His colleague's contra master class doesn't have anything to do with the excerpts whatsoever. Strange.
