The only reason it might seem like halo to those of you born in the 90s. Is because the technology used in older sci fi movies really couldn't pull off the suit he has the way it now. If you know your sci-fi history out of star wars and star trek remakes. There really would be no debate. It's a classic concept pulled off with modern lower budget designs.

Oh I don't deny there is little difference in the story of Pocahontas and Avatar, I just think the game Albion comes somewhat closer. On some parts at least, like technology, Albion being a different planet, takes place in the future, also features a relationship between the races, and of course the other things I've already mentioned. Both Pocahontas and Albion came out in 1995 apparently. The script for avatar was supposedly already in existence before that, in its infancy.

Actualy the Halo story is quite good, the books at least, would make a great action packet movie, with story and a lot of cool characters.

Halo books may not innovate in any aspect but they are fun to read and good. To me nothing has to be original in order to be good.

The trailer seems nice and all, but I cant say I was very impressed by the movie, the special effects were really well done as well as the "makeup" on the aliens. The acting and story, on the other hand, was mediocre at best, havent seen sloppier fight scenes since the old Robin Hood shows from the 90's :S. Only looked it up because Zack Ward aka Postal dude was starring in the lead, and really, this movie couldnt have been the greatest career move :P
