  • Steve Martin's El Guapo was yet to come: Bringing Down the House

  • I think Steve Martin's real forte was intelligent type of comedy, like the kind he displayed for a while in films like Roxanne (which he wrote the screenplay for) or Planes, Trains and Automobiles (in which he was actually the heavy). I think people's impression of Martin kind of got tainted in the more recent years when he sort of reverted back to the "easy laugh" type of movies like the Pink Panther remake, stuff that feels kind of lame in comparison. But make no mistake, the guy is talented.

  • This is just classic. 'For some shyness might be their El Guapo" LOL

  • Memorable Bucker BU-131 Jungman!

  • @clockwerk35 It may have been a reference to the plethora piniata scene. I'm not sure though, I've never seen the movie. =P

  • OMG this looks like a old film!! Dusty Bottoms.... Lucky Day!! lol so funny.

yes and @junkmailboy1000 what the hell was farly farly farly??? funny as hell tho.

  • @strunway It's what Lucky Day says when he's reciting the gun-spell to summon the Invisible Swordsman at the Singing Bush. And I can't believe I just wrote that sentence.

  • @maninredhelm no no I know but I was wondering if anyone knew why?

  • @strunway Some people think that line is an inside reference to the name of the character that Steve Martin played in the movie "The Man With Two Brains."

  • LOL the next suggested video that came up after this was Martin Luther King Jr. "I have a dream"

    Both great American speeches!

  • "The people can conquer their own personal el guapo, who also happens to actually be the real el guapo!" I've used this line before, usually during pre-shift meetings

  • El Guapo is the NWO order that is coming our way. But let us all stand together against this tryanny and let old bygones be gone. Let old Racism and bigotry be left in the dust. Let us stand unitied Mexicans, Blacks and those whites that suffer in this World and let us break those chains! Viva La libertad!! AHHHHHHHHH Viva Mexico and Viva Zapata!

  • That movie is EXTREMLY FUNNY!

  • Tony Hayward and the BP oil spill is the Earths El Guapo

  • Our El Guappo happens to be the actual El Guappo. A big dangerous who wants to kill us.

  • i like that steve martin pronounces the "G" in el guapo XD

  • Chevy's reactions in this are spot on hilarious! I personally believe deep down there was a rivalry between Steve Martin & Chevy Chase

  • yo soyy el guapo

  • Hahaha I remember an episode of Prison Break wich shows the same "Mexico" like here..

I think gringos save money using the same dusty and old fashioned background in all TV shows and movies.

  • old tucson is the name of the place..also in tombstone and and million other movies

  • Thanks for your information.

  • Quiting smoking is my El Guapo!

  • Dammit, I cant find my favourite line.

Where Martin Short says to an old woman 'Sew Woman! Sew Like the WIND!'

This is still hilarious though, and will suffice...

  • i love this scene

  • A lack of people skills is my El Guapo.

  • Bas Rutten is Ken Shamrock's El Guapo.

  • You must mean Ken Shamrock is Bas Rutten's El Guapo, since he defeated Bas Rutten (who's nickname is El Guapo).

  • oopsie

  • Heheh. Now that I read it can be written either way, not sure. Oh well. Nice to see an mma fan who has a good taste in comedy.

  • I heard that this inspired Incubus's song "Megalomaniac"-the el guapo of course being the megalomaniac. Like Steve Martin said, everyone has their own el guapo to face and thats how Brandon Boyd wanted people to interpret the song. He wanted people to figure out who the "el guapo" was to them.

  • They're actually both funny in this film. This is the best movie either actor has made to date, and they're both very good in it.

  • Chevy Chase is one of the funniest comedians ever. Steve Martin has never been really funny to me,he just tries to hard maybe. Martin Short has always been obnoxious to me,don't know why. They all did a good job in this movie though.

  • Whoa, you got that all backwards. Have you ever SEEN "The Jerk", or "The Man With Two Brains"? Chevy Chase is one of the most un-funny people alive, and certainly doesn't have the same degree of wit and timing that Steve Martin has perfected. Granted, "Cheaper by the Dozen" wasn't exactly comedy gold, but at least it had that little hotty Hilary Duff.

  • "that little hotty Hilary Duff."

    Eww

  • That's completely backwards. Steve Martin is great and Martin Short is pretty fucking talented. But Chevy Chase hasn't been funny in decades. That's a lonnng time.

  • Steve Martin is a sexy dude, how can you confuse him with the ancient, unfunny, bitter chevy chase?

  • Actually, according to IMDB Chevy Chase played Dusty Bottoms. My bad, I fixed it in the description. Thanks :)

  • I think your description needs to read "The scene from the Three Amigos where Lucky Day (Steve Martin) tells the villagers of Santo Poco about fighting their El Guapo." Great clip, though:)

  • Steve Martin is Lucky Day, not Chevy Chase.

  • djjdkdjkfjkfdkfj

  • Uhh, Lucky Day is Steve Martin

  • The actor speaking and playing Lucky Day is Steve Martin, not Chevy Chase. Just so you know. Thanks for the clip.

  • Brilliant.
