It really depends. If you keep Windows XP on it, then 1GB will probably be fine. I have Windows 7 and Linux installed on my NC10, so I'm sure the extra memory helps with performance in Windows 7. The RAM is cheap, so I think it's worth it.

I think you should decided on your preference. The Lenovo does have some nice features like expandable memory to 2.5GB and the ExpressCard slot.
The only thing I do not like about it, which is a common problem for most netbooks and notebooks on the market, is the glossy lid which ends up being a finger print magnet.

They all should be the same, as far as hardware goes. So you should get the same performance no matter what color you decide to purchase. The hard drive and RAM can be upgraded in this netbook, so that might help overall performance of the system.

what difference does it make if you change the ram from1gb to 2gb thanks

You can upgrade the HDD and RAM on all colors, not just the black unit.

The webcam quality is actually pretty good for a netbook. It's not high quality or anything, but something good to use for video chat on skype.

Definitely a good buy. I have WinXP, Win 7, and Ubuntu running on it. Win 7 runs like a dream on the NC10.

I have 8.10 running on it. Yeah some of the functions keys don't work, but it's not too much of an issue. Wifi and webcam work just fine.
