But I've never felt that she had a inflated ego, and not here either - it seems to be she's just having fun, from the smile on her face all the way through you can see she's just enjoying it and not taking it as seriously ("acting" the song) as she did when she was younger.

I know Barbra Streisand is a bit before my time, she has an incredibale voice and is one of the all time greats. It makes me appreciate music more, then music we have today.
Regardless of generation gaps and how young you are, if you're a true lover of music you should be aware of who the greats are, and which songs are long standing Broadway standards.. It doesn't give you much authority or your comment any credibility if you never knew who sang it originally till "Glee" came along then turn around and say which one is better. Just my two cents.
She can sing; there's no getting around it. But seeing her live (after selling a child to afford the ticket) is about as exciting as watching an 8-Track.

Barbra's voice is very deep and low pitched in this video, it's strange and unusual, it's almost as if the sound was transposed.

I like Streisand's version more than the Glee version. To me at least, it seems more genuine and emotional.
I love Lea Michelle, and I like her version as well. The only thing that bothers me is that Lea kinda seems fabricated in her emotions. It may just be me.
Either way, I love both versions; and I love Glee. ^^

Lea Michele did a great Job introducing this song to a young generation..Before this i never know this song..until i watch Glee....Streisand should thnx to Lea for introducing her song to a new generation.......ps; i love BOTH version..cant decide which is one is better...

@nassrol I totally agree!! If it wasn't for Glee in general, I wouldn't know a lot of songs, including this one, though I watched "Funny girl" a couple of times, it was Lea who made me take a closer look at it.

for all of you who are saying Lea's fantastic version is BETTER than this needs to realize that this is a LIVE recording, and you should find the studio version of Barbara's singing of this song for a proper comparison.
Also, if you name has "kitty" in it excuse me if I don't take your opinion seriously.

@LaNacaRockera Ok, I don't know how many one woman shows YOU'VE ever done, but it takes A TON of energy to sing song after song after song and not only sing but ACT each song out. You have no idea how many songs she'd already sung before this and this video was a medley. Which means she had no break between songs!

@LaNacaRockera lol. No. I'm just so good at debating that I don't have to stress myself out to outsmart you :) And she's not my wife, but I am a fan. And she really can sing. And furthermore, for me, it's 11 o'clock on a school night. It isn't that I don't have a life, but simply that I have nothing else to do to entertain myself on such an occasion.

She has one of the best voices and some of the best control over her breathing and resonance chambers I've ever heard. So don't you dare critique her so harshly until you can present a resume that tops hers and sell out a full house of die hard fans every time you perform even at age 67!

I don't compare them, the thing is if you only talk about the voice, indeed we can't compare them :) Freddie is the best of the best : Power, sensitivity, talent, charisma. Take a look to Freddie Mercury at wembley during the live aid 85'.
However i like Streisand, Especially don't rain on my parade...
